I really think much more could have been done with it but what Valve did is alright as is. However, between TF2 and many other online games I'd opt for the others because of originality, gameplay, not as repetitive (graphics or gameplay), and in some cases more friendly people. I don't mean to scratch your disk or anything this is just my opinion. Although if I had a full legit copy I'd be happy to play with you because you seem nice. |

Press Junketeer Posts: 395 Joined: 27 Jun 2008 | I play it and love it on PC. The way all Valve games are meant to be played. |
Anonymous Source Posts: 2 Joined: 15 Sep 2008 | I am a member of a clan and play on PC. My personal opinion is that it's one of the best multiplayer FPS's available. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 55 Joined: 14 Aug 2008 | my favorite part about it is the balanced class system, I wish valve would fix the ps3 version |
Muckraker Posts: 293 Joined: 20 Mar 2008 | I play it on the PC, not part of any clan.
I disagree a bit on the class balance, but everything else is exactly why I play the game.(the unlockable weapons are a bit too powerful in my opinion, but it doesn't make the players that have those weapons gods, it just sucks trying to escape from a pyro only to get slaughtered by four crits from his backburner, or to get his axtinguisher in my back) |

Anonymous Source Posts: 3 Joined: 11 Sep 2008 | I love the game. I haven't had this much fun in an online FPS in a while. I'm on the PC side of things, though. |

Muckraker Posts: 246 Joined: 6 Nov 2007 | I play it... although I haven't played it since I moved out of my last year's university accomodation where I played it on the PC of a computer science student friend. He could like run any game ever on top settings. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 59 Joined: 15 Sep 2008 | I play it on the PC, I love the pace especially on the instant respawn servers it gets so frantic. I would say my favourite classes are Pyro and Medic, although I can use them all pretty well. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 385 Joined: 20 Mar 2008 | I play on PC, with my main two classes being pyro and scout. I just can't get used to the sniper in that game. |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 506 Joined: 4 Jun 2008 | I've played it for a bit on the 360 (I'm useually a medic) and while there are some good aspects (no grenades? feeble sniper rifle? I must be in heaven) there were also quite a few things that let it down. 1. Getting into a game can be a long and painful process since many people seem to be reluctant to start a game until you have a full blown 12-16 people (there's 8 of us, just start the game now dammit!). I've tried hosting my own games to get around this but I'm useually faced with the same problem since almost no-one seems to join my game. 2. The many classes may be varied and unique but there should have been a limit on how many of each class a team can have. In my experience I was in a game where our team had 4 medics and 1 demo-man (we were the attacking team as well), obviously we got slaughtered since none of us had the sense to change class (I tried being a Pyro, which didn't work out well). 3. Engineer turrets- don't get me started on these things. This is just my personal grumble, they're are extremely annoying (but seeing as that is the point of them, I suppose I should be saying 'keep up the good work). |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3302 Joined: 21 Jan 2008 | As you can tell by the avatar, I think the game it's great. I've only played a bit of it (unfortunately), but what I have played was really enjoyable. My highlight was going up against a Heavy, as an Engineer... and winning (without turrets of course). |
Copy Clerk Posts: 93 Joined: 20 Nov 2007 | IMO this game got ruined in the last few updates, too much console-esque achievements and overpowered weapon unlockables, the most telling sign is the achievement farming servers, it's mmo grinding in a fps... |
Paperboy Posts: 13 Joined: 10 Jan 2008 | I <3 TF2 - nice and easy to pickup and play for 30mins or whatever. I have great respect for Valve as they always release updates/patches for their games and generally do not charge for any new content. Shame they are not allowed to do this for the console people really, but hell, who in their right mind plays a FPS with a gamepad?! :p Also, re the achievement servers - I would prefer people to go on them rather than ruining a normal server, so that doesn't bother me really. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 5091 Joined: 23 Dec 2007 | I want to buy it but have not yet. Also, Danny Ocean is setting up a big Weekend event thing for whoever wants to participate. I'm a medic most often, due to the fact my internet latency prohibits direct combat, and I'm not the best engineer yet. |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 539 Joined: 20 Dec 2007 | I don't have it for the PC (yet I seriously want it) but during that free Team Fortress 2 weekend on Steam, I don't think I ever left my computer. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1176 Joined: 17 Jun 2008 | I had a 20 kill streak as a pyro in TF2 last night on my 360. And most of them were spent trying to keep the other team from capturing the intelligence. I was very pleased. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1176 Joined: 17 Jun 2008 | Outside of occasional lag problems and no updates there is nothing wrong with the 360 version. It's just peachy. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3529 Joined: 21 Aug 2008 | I must be one of the few players who actually waited all of those (nearly) 9 years for this game to come out...From the very first official announcement at E3, even :[ I suppose that's why I'm not as enamored as others are with how the game ended up. |

I was six when it was announced apparently. |

It was a long wait for me but thankfully we had other things to play while we waited, i'm glad they ditched the modern day military theme idea they originally had. It turned out better than i ever could have expected. |

Paperboy Posts: 18 Joined: 1 Mar 2008 | PC-Scout, Demo, Spy being my mpc's and my favorites (of course). Yes, it is an extremely fun game, along with Portal and all of the HL2 series, and I urge anyone without it to leave your computer right now and go buy the Orange Box for the PC. No joke. Go do it. NOW. |

People usually have nothing against me, but I hate pyros, especially when I'm a disguised spy. |
