Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt

tiredinnuendo:
I hate whenever we do one of these threads. I always end up feeling old.

That said, it was one of perhaps a dozen Atari games, I'm not really sure which was first. First game I beat was ET (which was one of the few games that you could "beat" back then).

- J

I don't feel old (even though my game isn't as old as your game), but I do think these are young whippersnappers to be sure.

I got started in 1989 with the NES I played a shitload of games including Mario 1,2,&3, Duck Hunt, Zelda, Mike Tyson's Punch Out!, Contra, Top Gun, Spy Hunt, TMNT, Double Dragon, Airwolf, Ninja Gaiden 3, River City Ransom, Metroid, Mega Man 1-4, Dragon Power, Batman, Spiderman (the one where Electro was the first boss), sorry I'm just naming as they come to memory, Tecmo Bowl, Double Dribble, Indiana Jones, Wrestlemania, WWF Challenge, HOOPS, Roger Clemens Baseball, okay this is getting ridiculous. Let's just say I've been playing games since before Sonic came out, and I beat LoZ when I was 5!!!

It was either Dizzy or Space Harrier for my Sinclair Spectrum ZX (is 24)

Remember those lovely loading screens? Sounded like a modem making love to a fax machine!

Alex the kid built into the Sega Mastersystem. It was brilliant no cartridge, no loading times and an impossibly hard puzzle at the end. oh and did i mention you got to run over frogs on a motorbike :D

I think i was 5 years old at the time.

hehe, i can trounce most of you here, but i'm beaten by a select few.

my first computer games were on the BBC Micro, and it was either:

- XOR (best puzzle game ever?... and it HAS to be the BBC version... the other, later one was RUBBISH)

or

- Bonecruncher

i had thousands of games.... literally THOUSANDS... in groups of 30 or so, on floppy disks (back when they were actually floppy!). some, i actually had retail versions of. great game sleeves! like books.

You know, posting a thread that's already been done is low, posting a thread that's already been done knowing that it's already been done is even lower

Super Mario Bros. 3 for the NES. I used to wake my parents up at like 3:00 AM because I'd be downstairs playing it.

Hmm would have to be TI Invaders and Munchman on a TI994A. Shortly after I think we got an Atari and I had a bunch of games on that. THe first one "beat" would be Pitfall 2.

...

God I love those games...

Elite on the Spectrum. Took me a year or so before I managed to dock at a station, seeing as I was four or so. Looking back, I find it hard to believe I kept trying.

I apologize to all the people on the website who are somehow offended by a thread being re-made, but I just found out the difference between the search forums and general search, and please, Let's not resort to name calling.

My first game was Sonic the Hedgehog on the Genisis, but I've only been truely into gamining for a few years, and the first game that got me hooked was Super Mario Sunshine. I know, sad, but I only played for the platform segments.

The Lion King, Batman Begins and Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Mega Drive. I LOVED them all, but tried to emulate them the other day...

They're too damn hard. It's shameful, but I can do better on Uncharted (Crushing) than I can on the bloody Lion King. I beat the thing when I was four, so I'm left wondering what the hell happened.

It's time to play... Bonecruncher...

If you can tell me what the rest of the words were in the introduction, you'd be resolving a twenty year old argument between me and my best friend.

Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros. 3

i'm gonna go out on a limb and say that SMB3 is the greatest game in history. i played that game so much that by the time i was 3 i could get to world 6 without help

and that might explain why i'm so fucked up. lol

I very, VERY vaguely remember playing Pitfall! on the Atari 2600 at a relative's house when I was 3 or 4. I think my brother had a Sega Master System around that same time, but I honestly can't remember ever playing anything on it. The first game I distinctly remember playing was Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt on the NES on my 5th birthday.
