I'd like to know why no gaming store more than one copy of Counter Strike: Souce at a time.
I'd like to know why three-fourths of the CTF matches on Halo PC are set to heavy weapons.
I'd like to know why game developers think it's ok to make games the require such an ungodly PC to run their goddamn games.

This is a question and answer thread I got an idea for yesterday. Someone asks a question and hopefully someone else has an answer.

NOTE: Sorry if this was already a thread, the search didn't turn up anything.

because I'm pretty sure most Counter Strike Source games were sold packaged with Halflife 2, and the rest were sold over Steam

because heavy weapons make people feel strong and powerful

Most games do not require an ungodly PC to run. Don't look at the Cry engine as the norm. If your PC was made in the last 5 years, it can still run basically anything that's out today, and depending on the game, it can play it well.

Rare game now.
Pre-set probability counter determines the game type.
Deals with the computer companies, forcing you to upgrade your computer system.

Any more questions?

Here's a question then:

Why did they totally ruin Halo 3 today?!?! Where's my rank? What's the point in gaining rank if no one can see it?!?!

Click on someones name, your old rank is there. Besides you get different ranks in each play list now.

So I noticed. Still, I preferred the old way, where you wore your rank on your sleeve everywhere you went.

I guess I'm just not used to the new interface yet. (Also, I might be a bit bitter because for some reason I haven't won any of the last twenty games. Just having an off week, I s'pose).

I'd like to know why no one else has asked a question is this format.

I'd like to know why they are making dead rising for the wii.

Dead Rising for the Wii? To be honest, I don't think anyone really knows why.

Another answer to the "ungodly pc" stuff.

There are people out there who have spent thousands of dollars into alienwares and custom supercomputers, shouldn't there be someone to cater for them too? Who cares if they are the minority, the minority also needs love.

Though majority of those games can be scaled down quite a bit too.

Here's a better question though - why are we having to tell developers to make sure their game WORKS?!

It's amazing when you see the recommended specs for Guitar Hero 3, or playing Splinter Cell Double Agent and having it lock up and glitch on you so much. Mercs 2 is the most recent sloppy joe.

Why are development costs getting so ridiculous now? Is it even worth it?

It's Capcom. They are obligated to make a port to another system that is many times crappier than the original it was released on. They did it for Resident Evil 4 the first time it came out, remember?

They also like teh munnyz. But that's only a small part of it. :D

- I've seen more than one sold at a time, so the only conclusion I can reach is that you're either blind or live in bizarro world.
- Cause the game is boring, so people try to "spice it up" in any way they can... And since they basically only know one way - escalate the power level - that's what you get. Also cause it makes their e-penis feel big.
- Because evolution moves forward, not backwards. better technology in games requires better computers to run on. Besides, most of the times what that really means is that you can play the game on max for the amazing and spectacular super graphics, or crank it down to run on lower end computers. It works for everyone.

Why do developers constantly butcher their own games with "dick moves", "moon logic" and half-assed deliveries?

Number One Reason: Money. Number Two Reason: MONEY! Most people that buy games can barely tie their own shoes so they'll defenently buy a new game by EA.

Why is it when you attempt to mute someone on XBL they're only muted in the headset but not on the TV? And sometimes they're muted on both?

How come when I went to Best Buy last sunday the had COD4: GOTYE but today they didn't have it. I honestly can't see as to how they could sell 8 copies of a game in 6 days.

I'd like to know why people think the Halo series and Gears of War series are good games.

I'd like to know what Hideo Kojima was thinking when he decided to make 12892188912809128091823 hours of cutscenes? (I did watch all of them without getting bored though, but I was mildly annoyed 'cause I bought a game to play a game, not watch a movie)

I'd like to know why people play Sports games.

I'd like to know why Fable was a good game.

I'd like to know why Microsoft hasn't made two different online systems:

-one for whiny little kids whose balls will never drop and play Halo/COD4/Gears religiously,
- and another for those who are at least semi-intelligent, have insults that are not "you're gay" or "your mom", and haven't quit their jobs and school to play video games. In my opinion, this should have been step one of the putting-consoles-online idea......

Another answer to the "ungodly pc" stuff.

There are people out there who have spent thousands of dollars into alienwares and custom supercomputers,

Alienware and Dell are some of the biggest ripoff artists out there. Never, ever, ever buy from them. If it's a desktop, build it yourself, if it's a laptop, get it from xoticpc.com or gen-x-pc.com. The price difference between them is small, but they're always countering each other in prices. When I got mine Xotic was cheaper, but sometimes gen x is. I'm sure there are other indy companies out there to check out though, but those two came highly recommended to me from my assorted friends. I haven't really heard of any other solid indy companies (feel free to prove me wrong).
The laptop I got is vastly more powerful than anything Alienware or Dell offer and cost me about half of what one of theirs would.

You don't need a great PC to run everything though, I bought one just for pure future proofing purposes since it IS a laptop after all. My desktop cost me 700 bucks and runs everything just fine.

I want to know why Martyrdom is in COD4. Seriously, rewarding someone for dying? What the hell was Infinity Ward smoking?
I want to know why the standards that RPGs were once held to have fallen so much. RIP Baldur's Gate

Because they don't all have the ability to set release dates of When It's Ready, so they have to rush for a release date, putting out incomplete, untested, and broken games.

Because the toilet is a highly advanced invention that Tamriel just hasn't gotten to at that point. I'm sure Bethesda didn't have this in mind when they were designing the game, but I'm pretty sure that London was the same way for decades - you crapped in a bucket and tossed that bucket into the street, where it seeped into the sewers and got dumped into the river. (Side note: the reason that it is considered "polite" for men to walk on the side of the sidewalk closest to traffic while out with a lady is that people had a habit of tossing their sewage out the window without looking, and it would be terribly undignified for men to get soaked in human fecal matter.

The reason that they didn't have it is because they sold out. The reason you can't figure that out is that you apparently have an extremely poor grasp of the concept of mass markets.

Because a proper RPG takes an ungodly amount of time and money to produce, especially these days when it needs to have super-flashy graphics if it wants to compete. The production process is extended by the sheer amount of content that needs to be created, and the testing process is extended by the unimaginable number of combinations that need to be tested, fixed, and balanced.

That's your opinion to think they're not good games. I think they're good games personally. Hell, I'm willing to bet you have at least one game that you consider good that I would consider to be bloody awful.

See? It's all opinions, PersianLlama.

Actually it turns out they didn't sell them they just moved them to some dismal area near the back. I found this out by returning to the store 'cause my encolure device doesn't want to work anymore.

True, but I want to know what about them that makes you think they're good, not simply "It's my opinion".

'cause people from Hollywood are better then scum like you or me. And they have more exposure.

I want to know why more people aren't making adventure games again, given the success of Sam & Max and SBCG4AP. Seriously, all the best adventures these days are made by the same freakin' company! Why haven't they at least been imitated yet?

EDIT: Ooo, 50 posts.

for the same reason there are extensive sewer areas in most rpgs, they have to fit that cliche slot.

Because Halo was great when it first came out, and Gears of War has a amazing storyline along with unique game play. What's your reason why you don't think they're good, not simply "It's my opinion".
