Copy Clerk Posts: 93 Joined: 31 Aug 2008 | Obviously Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest For Booty. I beat it in one sitting...and I'm never playing it again...it was that bad. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 498 Joined: 20 Nov 2007 | tomb raider legend. damn that was short. 8 levels? wtf? also puzzles never got really difficult. still an all around great game |
Copy Clerk Posts: 66 Joined: 3 Sep 2008 | Well, the question is how enjoyable the game had to be. The best, shortest game that I've probably played had to be Portal. Epic funz. As far as just being short in general, probably a fighting game, such as Soul Calibur IV, or the like. But, then again, it really depends on your definition of "Beating" a game... |

I thought it was good, but HOLY SHIT it was short, it's in the list of games I've beaten in a day. Which are: CoD4 (on veteran too), Portal, QFB, and the HL/Sam and Max episodes. |

That's actually quite impressive! Did you get all 6 Chaos Emeralds? :P |
Copy Clerk Posts: 100 Joined: 31 Aug 2008 | its a hard choice... I mean, the replayability is high... but its like a few seconds of original storyline |

What gives!? It was (one of the) first videogame(s) ever made! :P Cut those poor technology students some slack! |

I did it last week but it took me quite a bit longer while trying to get all the emeralds, it's saved just before the final boss. 360 marketplace FTW! |

Well Pong is to easier answer, I want to hear about games today, like the darkness, I finished in a day. |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 587 Joined: 23 Jan 2008 | Portal. Short yes, but epic too. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1000 Joined: 2 Jan 2008 | Define "short". Most of the old NES titles could be beaten in under 45 minutes if you played them perfectly. It's just that they weren't very forgiving if you didn't play them perfectly. I could beat Atari's ET in about 4 or 5 minutes if I wasn't trying for a high score, but no one else seems to be able to beat it because they can't figure out what to do. Shortest modern gen game? Heavenly Sword. - J |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1978 Joined: 16 May 2008 | Portal is probably the shortest game I've played recently. But it was also the best. so in short short != bad. |

Copy Clerk Posts: 63 Joined: 23 Sep 2008 | prob pgr3. Took me 1 day. And it was only that long cos I fucked about on geomerty wars mini-game. |
Beat Writer Posts: 211 Joined: 2 Apr 2008 | "The Great Waldo Search". A game with five levels that involve one button press each. Literally. It's two minutes and twenty Great British pounds of your life with no replay value. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1978 Joined: 16 May 2008 | For a game to be considered short, it has to have an ending. Everything else is arbitrary. If the game doesn't have an ending, and is focused entirely on getting a high score, or beating your opponent in a single elimination game, then it can't really be called "Short" |

:P I've been playing that for 6 months (On and off) and still haven't finished it... *ashamed* The HL:2 episodes. |
Paperboy Posts: 28 Joined: 16 May 2008 | you could easily mention games such as portal and the episodes of hl2 - but they were always intended to be shorter than the average 7-10 hour game play. It is, however, rather irritating when you finally reach the end of a game and upon checking the time, find that it really wasn't very long. I always feel the game is lacking which no amount of multiplayer can rectify. For this i designate Battlefield: Bad Company. Unfortunately not very long. ho hum, onto the next game it seems... |

Press Junketeer Posts: 382 Joined: 21 Jun 2008 | I'd probably have to say Gungrave, the game runs under 5 hours (perhaps 3 or so). Still it's replayable heaps, because blowing stuff up is fun. |
