A new Monkey Island game wouldn't go amiss. Plus I want to know what's happening with the new Marvel Ultimate Alliance game that's apparently in development. The first one was awesome.

I loved the first game, but it had so many goddamn bugs (I turned it on and it reset all of my characters/savegames)

also fastball special at 00:51 = win

TomNook:
Gun, that game was too short, but amazing enough to deserve a sequel. Full symphonic soundtrack, good voice acting for once, and a great combat system. WHY CAN'T YOU MORONS MAKE ANOTHER ONE!?

I loved Brad Dourif's character in that game

My votes have to be Eternal Darkness and Secret of Evermore.

Ok, here I go:

Psychonauts
I would say Warcraft 4, but I believe that it is already secretly in development
ET. Jk.
Jet Set Radio Whatever for anything. Please. Make it now.

It should also center on Catalina, cause quite frankly I think she would make the best character. I just want to see a scene of where she shoots a guy in the head for coming onto her.

Catalina was the chick you are trying to kill in Grand Theft Auto III.

And that matters how, exactly? Toni ends up trying to kill you, despite being the protagonist of Liberty City Stories, and Vic Vance gets blown up in the opening scene of Vice City. Since when does future appearances make any difference to these prequels?

Now that Fallout 3 is coming out, I'd love to see sequels to other great older computer RPGs. It's a perfect time for things like Baldur's Gate 3 or even Arcanum 2. (Oh, and if you haven't checked it out, Arcanum is a great game and similar to Fallout 1 & 2 only a little newer and set in a really cool steampunk/fantasy setting.)

SiN Episodes

It wasn't superb or anything but I found the first episode very enjoyable. It was simple old school fun! And now its pretty certain there wont be any more episodes and i'll never get to see what happens next. :( Which is not good and i'm kind of annoyed I bought it, at the time thinking i'd get to see another episode 3 months down the line... oh well, at least I got the first SiN free with it. =]

Psychonauts

and a new Monkey Island game too. Though i'm pretty sure they have a 5 game contract, or something like that, so i'm sure we'll see one eventually.

the tribes series. i loved tribes vengeance, although i know a lot of people preferred tribes 2.

not for the storyline, that was allwyas nothing more htne a glorified training mission. it was the multiplayer.

i swear to god, there is not and has never been a finer multiplayer game made, ever.

the jet/ski system makes for fast paced combat, and thanks to full 3d movement at retardedly fast speed coupled with prediction weapons, the game took real skill.

unfortunately, VU has buried the series. i know there's its spiritual successor, on that instant action site, but its not the same. RIP the blood eagle mini league, RIP the finest multiplayer i have ever seen. i swear to you, if i ever win the lottery, i will buy the rights to that game and give them free to anyone i think can make a good game with them.

This is easy. Freespace. Best space sim ever. The story realy wasn't over with Freespace 2. I also would enjoy a Baldur's gate sequel or a Planescape: Torment sequel.

Obsidian/Lucas Arts definitly needs to make a sequel to Kotor 2.

Not a silly MMO. An actual sequel.

Yes, yes, and god yes they do!

Star Wars: Republic Commando. Sure, the gameplay might have been a *bit* similar to Halo, but the humour made up for it.

KoTORs need a sequel too.

Arcanum was the greatest high fantasy RPG I have ever played.

They made a Shenmue 2.

The thread is called "games that desperately need a sequel" not "sequels that desperately need to be made".

Advent rising need a sequel, it's supposed to be a trilogy (it was released in 2005) and it left us a MAJOR cliffhanger.

1. Legend of Dragoon (for all its gameplay faults, and painful level of anime-like
themes; I just loved it’s story and game concept)

Agreed on that point.

For me...Erm, for all its issues, it'd have to be Drakan: The Ancients' Gates.
The sequel was announced at the very end of the game, but it was never actually made, which really irritated me, for all the flaws in the game, I really loved it.

I would really like to see Shenmue finish the story it had begun but with Yu Suzuki not working with Sega anymore the likely hood of that is slim.

KOTOR needs a final game to really finish the whole True Sith story it had built.

However I would also like to see a sequel to Fahrenheit.

Nobody has mentioned Sacrifice yet. The amazing looking action-strategy-RPG game from 2000. Yes, it still looks awesome. And yes, those three elements actually *do* blend for once. Only nobody noticed and it died, so Shiny closed and the dev team went on to make crappy Matrix games.

There needs to be another Eldar scrolls game, and another Metal Gear. You can never have enough metal gear :D

Homeworld 2 - defo man.

Psychonauts. More Tim Schafer madness please. It's not so much the gameplay, there were some brilliantly realised characters both through art and voice acting, that we don't really see so much of these days. Especially when humour's involved.

And of course, a new Deus Ex. Something truly non-linear this time; there's not enough Sci-Fi cyber-punk rpg-action type games. Deus Ex meets Neuromancer - arg dribble. The genre is lacking, and there's no need considering the wealth of great SciFi literature out there combined with the processing power of modern PCs and consoles. Imagine; DeusEx 2 in a world approaching the complexity of GTAIV. Great place to hang a couple of story-arcs eh?

edit: typo.

I agree with everyone saying Psychonauts.
The oddworld games (but first bring them back to sony).
I'd like to see a third part in the Medievil series.
Canis Canem Edit (bully), though I don't know what they'd do with it.
Also I'd like to see a proper Kingdom Hearts III, not just spin-offs although they'll probably be good too.

Definitly a few that do;

Legacy of Kain - can't believe this series hasn't had the next-gen treatment yet. It would be incredible.

KOTOR 3 - and no silly MMO bullshit. A genuine, cohesive, sequel.

Warcraft 4 - 3 and the Frozen Throne were incredible. I want more. WOW does not compensate me.

And, as flawed as it was, I second the Legend Of Dragoon sequel...that was a great game. However, I think it wouldn't work in today's market.

Bioshock, but luckily there is one coming in the near future :)
Holy shit, i need an assassin's creed sequel
Half-life 3 would be supreme, not another half-life 2 episode (although im looking forward to episode 3)
PORTAL 2!!!! That would be mega epic(although i believe there is something coming out.
Another Elder scrolls game would be extremely amazing, and a whole new Dungeon Siege, resembling the first game more than the second.
ODIUM, if you remember that one. It's major epic fun, but reperative, never really hit the hearts and minds of gamers, but i loved it, and would love to see a sequel.

A bit off topic, but when Diablo III was announced i started looking for PC's to run it on full.

The only games that need sequels are the ones that were set up for them but didn't get one - Shenmue 2 & XIII spring to mind.

Sequels are the anti-cool. If we banned them on a Thursday the world would be a better place by Friday.

Yes, but the Xbox got exclusivity, so its not a real Shenmue.

I disagree with everyone saying Psychonauts. While the game itself is worthy of another iteration of a similar game, following the storyline in itself would be difficult, seeing as how Raz got promoted to a Psychonaut, and could destroy people with his brain just by looking at them.

Why don't people understand that it's possible for an MMORPG to have a single player component equivalent to the story in any other RPG?

There's not much of a precident but it's entirely possible. (if you don't realize I'm talking about KotOR 3)

I think there should be a new Rogue Squadron game, and they should stick to the starfighters this time.

Disregarding your snide remark, you aren't even getting your facts straight. Shenmue II was on the Dreamcast originally. I have the PAL version of it in my shelf.

But yes, Shenmue II needs a sequel. I want to see how the saga ends.

I'd play a sequel to Anachronox. I really enjoyed the setting and the ending set it up pretty plainly.

The Original Final Fantasy Tactics.
Because FFTA is crap. The judgment system sucks imo.

It was way too arbitrary. Wasn't it random each battle? If they had set rules for set areas that'd be okay (well, better anyway) but randomising it was just stupid. The Jagd missions were the best. Sure your guys could die, but at least you didn't have to worry about the crazy judge. I think VGcats expressed it best.

Your right, VGcats did do a good job on conveying it, and yes, the Jagd missions were awesome. Btw, is FFTA2 any better? I need my SRPGS. >.< (Level9999 on most of my characters in Disgaea 3 and I need to pick up Disgaea DS, but none of my local stores have it (so far).)
