That may be true, however, even though it made me feel better, I still hate EA with every fiber of my soul, so for me it changes nothing, except that I level up +1 in the Red Alert skill.

I went to EA's site a while back and downloaded the original CnC. While a timeless classic, there is so much wrong with those early games now i.e. No terrain elevation, always a weak spot in the base with no defence, tank rush etc

Sure, they go and do this after I've already purchased two individual copies plus the 10-year collection.

O whell, RA was worth the money then, and it's still worth the money now.

If it works anything like the CDs did, each one is a separate campaign.

Even if it's free, I bet it has DRM. Wouldn't want people stealing their free things, would they?

Is it me or does that ra3 trailer look absolutely terrible? The first part looked very cool and reminded me of the videos in ra1, but everything after.. Why is every mission instructor a hot chick? Why hire well known actors, which you'll instantly confuse as a character from that one tvshow or movie? And why, god why have they hired some blonde bimbo as Tanya?

I managed to download both discs without using a torrent program.

Has anyone got this working on Vista yet? I've read the instructions but it seems like far too much work for the end result. Is it as complicated as EA have made it look?

Meh, why download it? Pay 40-50 quid for the omgwtf giant "C&C THE LAST GODDAMN DECADE BITCHES" pack (title somewhat paraphrased). It has approximatly 10 games, including all the C&C titles.

Nah, not after the Securom fiasco. I want as little Malware as possible on my computer. It's like when a hooker offers you a free bit of rumpy pumpy. She may be hot, but you know she'll be carrying all sorts of infections.

And my god, the trailer for RA3 looked awful.

That was such a great game back in the day especially Red Alert 2.

Hmmmmm, whenever I've been in game stores I look in the re-released stuff and there's always a copy of the first Red Alert (and the 2nd) for less than £5!

Is it just me being pessimistic or have EA decided to give away a game made by another company solely for the purpose of whoring the latest (taken over) edition of said game series, that they now own?

Sorry to be THAT guy, I'm sure you'll love the game if you haven't played it/played it for a while, but I have seen this game in quite a few places, for very cheap. To me, it doesn't look like EA have some new found respect for their consumers, the opposite in fact.

Red Alert is the best RTS series out there. I own 3 copies (from various bundles, plus the original) of RA1, so I don't need to download this, however the fact that they are doing it is cool.
This game blows all that crap Blizzard makes right out of the water.

This is too awesome...I'm still going to hate EA, but I will lighten up on them for a while.

I love the C&C and RA series but it is very hard to compare to other great games like SC and Diablo, especially with the new installments coming soon.
