I jus wanted to know what you folk think about this. Is The Sims better for the PC, Console or a hand-held device?

Personaly I think its better suited for the PC because its easier to work with and you get more choice in what your sims do and how they act. Now some of the console ones are really bad, but some I can enjoy like The Sims Busting Out but that could just be because there are cars in it.

One last thing, what Sims do you think is better: The sims or the sims 2 (PC versions) and why you believe one is better than the other. Im only asking because I absolutely love both them for diiferent reasons and its been mind bending trying to figure out which ones better.

PC and why is this even a debate? The console versions feature stripped-down gameplay and a more objective-based system---in other words, it's not enough for the PC version to be unmistakably a casual game but they have to dumb it down even further for the pants-on-head console crowd.

Sims 2 is better than Sims 1. Upgraded graphics, plus they really hammered out the niggling annoyances from the first game, improved the AI, and actually did something worthwhile with a few of the expansion packs (I would go so far as to say the game's not complete without Nightlife and Seasons, and the other six packs all have something to recommend themselves to "more hardcore" Sims players.) Although really EAxis, was it necessary to get friggin' magic involved? They've done it in both games and it's horribly out of place for the setting.

I don't really get the sims for the consoles all they did was tack on a cheesy story-line(if that) and lets you go on your way.
and pretty much what SimuLord said about sims 2.

Really...? I played the Sims 2 on the PS2, the Co-op thing was pretty cool(thats about the only thing i liked about it) but other then that...those games were failures. The PC versions of the first Sims was better then any of the other crap on the consoles. No debate here, Sims for PC>Sims for Consoles.

My Sims 2 game is modded out the ass. Major improvements and bugfixes come from the modding community (much as they do with most PC games...Oblivion, anyone?)

I'd have to say the sims modding community is my number 1 *favourite* modding community. Not just for the added items and clothing - but given it's a game that requires imagination and creativity, it's always fun to read about new ways of playing it that people have come up with (anyone else here done the legacy challenge? - i almost finished and then my hard drive died! Uber sad face)

As such, definately the PC version. The depth is just fantastic - and i know the sim haters will disagree but I love it.

Now since my last 2 posts have concerned the games Sims and Princess Maker i'm going to go do some push ups to make myself feel better.

PC. So much easier to control, and (referring to last gen) there aren't the limits regarding space.

PC version is good for modding as well.

I always figured the PC versions would be better as they have user created content you can download so you not stuck with same boring fridge in every kitchen.

Really this shouldn't even be a question its pretty obvious what the answer is.

Yea I agree with you all completely. Apparently the only reason for playing the sims on the consoles is if your pc broke or cant run the game which now days it would be hard to find a computer to run it. Ive never downloaded mods for my sims and if you guys could give me some websites and recommendations on what to get please. I only have nightlife and university so any recommendations on what other expansions is worth getting. Im looking for an expansion that would change the gameplay like nightlife or university. Can you guys help me out please.
