Query: Is there someone you need killed, master? And he doesn't despise all humans, he had a deep respect (as much as a droid can have respect) for Revan and the tactics he utilised during the Mandalorian and Jedi Civil Wars. He even went as far as to say that Revan possessed many Droid-like qualities. I'd disagree with begrudging. I think he truly admired Revan, he expressed as such during KotOR 2. As for my choice, it'd have to be Clone Marine #276. He had so much charisma and he lit up the room when he came in. (Predictable joke over and done with). Kane, from the C&C series, stands out for me as my most favoured/most interesting character. Even when he was telling you that he was going to have you murdered and sent home in a body bag, you couldn't help but feel his charm. It's no bloody wonder that he's hailed as the Messiah. I felt like following him ;/ |

Not that she's particularly deep (although she is), but more that deep characterisation is something you don't EXPECT in a Zelda game. Midna's character development in a game series that previously had little more than "you beat me now I see the error of my ways" came totally out of left field, and it's left a pretty profound impact on me. That aside, I like Ike. |

Yes! Kane has to probably be my fav all time video game character and the actor that plays him is great. "Greetings commander, you seem to be a little lost, your in Nod territory now. Don't worry I'll have my forces send you home....in a body bag." *cue massive enemy attack on you* As you've already picked him I'm going to go with Sgt. Cortez from the timesplitters series for his gravelly voice and general badass attitude. |

Agreed with the Midna fascination. Also, I find Starkiller from Force Unleashed to be particularly badass, and funny at times, along with PROXY and Juno Eclipse. |

Yesyesyesyesyes. Kane, definitely. |

Paperboy Posts: 47 Joined: 25 Sep 2008 | I'd have to say with Big Boss from the Metal Gear series. The early incarnations of him are somewhat villainous, but after Metal Gear Solid 3, you get a better idea of what he's like (about identical to Solid Snake). Metal Gear Solid 4 I think added even more layers of depth to him as well. Solid Snake's badass and everything, but I think Big Boss is just more interesting. |

Press Junketeer Posts: 455 Joined: 12 Jul 2008 | I'd have to go with Kratos from Tales of Symphonia. His character developement was so subtle and carried out so well through the entire game. You don't fully understand him until you near the very end of the storyline. Throughout the game, you're given hints at who he really is, but the hints are never glaringly obvious, just enough to be tantalizing. I love that! |

I agree with this because of the second one. They turned him from a cliche to a genuine tragedy. My vote previously was the killer in Silent Hill 4, but this time I have to go with Revan from KOTOR. The second game turned him into a genius in the canon. In my eyes he's the most interesting Jedi character ever written. |

agreed Kratos rocked as they just left you in the dark about who he was just (till near the end on the not so done as much path of the game) and left you wanting to just make a story up |

Muckraker Posts: 272 Joined: 13 Aug 2008 | Dante from Devil May Cry. You simply cannot possibly call any character that motorcycles up a collapsing tower among other awesome acts of awesome uninteresting. Also, The Great Evil King Stanley Hihat Trinidad (Stan for short) from Okage: Shadow King. He's basically a comical shadow that can't seem to understand why nobody screams in terror at the very mentioning of his name anymore. |

Copy Clerk Posts: 65 Joined: 28 May 2008 | I want to say Onikage of the Tenchu series, because he;s not just evil evil, but sadistic evil, and that really makes him interesting to me. Failing sadistic evil, I'll go with Ewan Devlin from Mercenaries 2, every single one of his lines happened to be pure gold as far as I'm concerned, because of his accent. |

There's always a lot of talking in the video game world about the fact that video games feature a lot of shallow, uninteresting and generic characters no one could give two shits about. Every once in a while, though, a character captures our imagination that reminds us what makes these things so fun.
So tell us about the most interesting and unique character you've ever encountered in a game. It can be a minor or major character, a hero or villain. Just someone who's interesting.
I'll start with HK-47 from Knights of the Old Republic. He was a fantastically interesting (and funny!) robot character who despised all humans. What made him unique was his begrudging respect towards the main character, and his constant prodding to liquidate meatbags.
