1: Golden Sun 1
2: Half Life 2
3: Age of Mythology
4: Golden Sun 2
5: Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced 2: Grimoire of the Rift

I actually have three handheld games in there. I never realised. Also, if people spot something different about it, its because I edited out Civ IV and instead put Age of Mythology.

Alright- here's my top 5 list:

Knights of the Old Republic
Starcraft
Half Life 2
Megaman X
Oblivion (only because of the creativity that the modding community has exhibited)

....And they're in no particular order- I love 'em all in different ways.... Wow- I had no idea I would have such an eclectic list of games there.....

Games;

1. Harvest Moon; A Wonderful Life
2. Call Of Duty 4
3. Fable
4. Crackdown
5. GTA 4

Reasons;

1. Excellent gameplay, humour and I get to pretend to be a farmer ^_^ plus all the characters are pretty awesome.
2. Pow! Pow! Pow! Pow! Pow! I shot you! You've died!
3. Omg omg lolololololololol dressed as a woman killing all the people in this town lololol
4. Its like spiderman, with guns, and I dont have web shooting wrists. Jumpy Jumpy. Plus online play is alright. I guess...
5. "Hello, It your cousin Roman. Would you like to go bowling?" "Yes, yes I do. Just let me grab my bowling shoes and I'll meet you in an hour." Which then follows me driving like an idiot on meth as fast as I can across town and I'll still be late. So I usually do the drive off, wait for him to try to open the door, drive some more, wait for him to try to open the door. As so on untill we are at the bowling alley.

1. Quakeworld- constantly on your toes, always doing something, great community
2. CPMA promod for quake 3- same reason as above, i just hate what rail gun does to duels
3. Quakelive beta- finally made vanilla quake 3 more than just who has better lg and rail aim
4. Team fortress 2 competition- great fun with teammates, pubbing in this game is so frustrating because everyone is a bloody retard
5. Guitar Hero 3- I like hard games, custom songs that i put on it make it so much better, Love my Jimi Hendrix and Beatles : )

Must you guys just post lists? Is it really that hard to add some reasons as to WHY those are your top games? Seriously, nobody likes list threads, they are so uninteresting to read. One or two measly sentences explaining why you think the game is so good isn't that much to ask is it? And no, "'nuff said" isn't enough.

Props to Blind Punk Riot and Jazzyluv for not sucking. I might post mine later, assuming I can come up with a top 5 (the first 3 are easy, but the last two are harder to pin down).

All time Favourite games Eh?

1- Escape Velocity. Five years of my childhood and two years of uni gone right there. Only available on the Mac until Ambrosia Software released it's sequel Escape Velocity Nova for PC.
2- Lemmings. Still to this day have never finished the original. GOt up to what I think was the second or third last level. Good stress relief to just build stairs and blast holes solely to lead the little green haire'd buggers to their doom in a trap. Or nuke them.
3- Starship Titanic. It's what you get if you combine Douglas Adams, Myst and a sci-fi B-movie. Based on a book of the same name by Douglas Adams which in turn is froma throwaway line in Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy
4- Neverwinter Nights. Playability and customizability, and the expansions weren't that bad.
5- Perfect Dark. More hours spent playing that game than all of the time I ever spent at uni writing essays and studying combined.

What I'm playing now?
1- Battlefield 2142. Sci-fi FPS? Where do I sign up?
2- Spore. Sim Tower, Sim City, Sim Life and Sim Ant didn't make the above list, but that's okay as Spore is effectively them, combined, with better graphics.
3- Online Crack- I mean.... World of Warcraft. Though I'm not as tolerant of Chuck Norris and Yo Mamma jokes as I once was, so I'm rarely on.
4- Escape Velocity. Got a hold of an old mac still running os 9, so having some retro fun.
5- Homeworld 2. I still think this is one of the best space RTS games ever made. EVER! Also one of the only space RTS games ever made, but hey, if you're gonna do something, do it well.

5. Space Quest 4 - A freaking epic time travelling saga of intergalactic proportions. Also it is hillarious.
4. Doom - Pure viseral entertainment. Play it on Ulta-Violence and weep.
3. Civ 3 - So much strategic depth, so many different ways to play and win, so many reasons to love this game.
2. Monkey Island 2 - Great characters, wonderful world, playing it is a true joy.
1. Fallout - Does open world non-liner gameplay the right way. Oh sure GTA, Oblivion ect might be fun but you never feel like you're really affecting the game world. In Fallout you do. Single handedly slaughtering Shandy Sands is an experiance every gamer should have.

In no order:
God of War 1/2- I can't split them, both fantastic games, give me mythical beasts and twisted ways to dispose of them and I am happy
Call of Duty 4- For the multiplayer, not as many whiny gits as Halo 3.
Timesplitters: Future Perfect- I've played this for years and completed the single player campaign more times than on any other game, this game has massive staying power
The Darkness- Fantastic story telling and the ability to control an evil force makes a great game which far surpassed my expectations.
Condemned 2- Finished it yesterday, not massively scary but still, any game that lets you beat crackheads to death with fooseball handles is top stuff in my book.
Yes I am a massive fan of FPS's.

No particular order...

Metal Gear 4 - Sure, there was a lot of information overload and some repetitive dialogue, but think of it as a whole. The game looks absolutely gorgeous, the control scheme got an update that was badly needed and, if you know the story, it ties everything up, even though the very end doesn't go the way that was desired. It also provided the most "oh s***." moments i've ever had. Like the slow-mo motorcycle sequence that wasn't a cut scene. I got chills.

Shadow of the Colossus - Ico was great, SotC is a masterpiece. It was a fresh idea with a great visual style and did a great job of making the player feel like a dust speck in a larger world with larger creatures. Not to mention, fun as hell to play.

Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Nostalgia plays a small factor, but I think this is the shining example of the series. The story tied together perfectly, the graphics (for it's time) were amazing and it managed to keep my glued till the end. Majora's Mask lost me and the gamecube iterations basically hurled me out of the room.

Final Fantasy 7 - This one almost went to Final Fantasy 10, but the one thing that kept me off that bandwagon was the voice acting. It was a great addition that was needed, but man was it awkward. I still play 7 to this day. The story is amazing well written and while it has its annoyances like random battles every two steps on the world map, it makes up for them in major ways. I'm a big sucker for a good narrative and I remember after the bike sequence when escaping the Shinra corporation, i beat the boss and I felt the game was starting to lose steam, but then the world map gives you a big slap in the face to wake you up and see the game as a whole new being. Not to mention an extremely well done game finisher.

Bioshock - Ok, so System Shock 2 was definitely superior in many ways to Bioshock, but I gave this spot to Bioshock because it was much more accesbile to the gaming community and how the game played out so smoothly from beginning to end. When you find the twist (would you kindly), you almost get a sense that someone in your own life has betrayed you, not in the game. It was something I was expecting to happen, but definitely no done that well. The leveling up gives a little depth, but not so much that you're spending all of your time in menus. Great game all around.

Honorable mention:

Halo 2/3 - Perfected online gameplay, even with the jerks and quitters. And the game finished fairly well as a trilogy.

Portal - I'm sure this will get put in my top 5 when the "I'm still alive" expansion comes out. But this game is for sure brilliant.

Call of Duty 4 - The switching of sides and gameplay styles, rethinking of tired scenarios (sniper mission in particular) and the implication of a good story and dramatic moments made this game the best in it's class last year.

Psychonauts - Well thought game with a good amount of humor and buckets of innovation. I feel it needed a bit more polish, but still great.

Killer 7 - Ok, i've never beat this game. I don't know if i've even made it to the half way point. But I know that I always get drawn in. It made such a leap from the norms that it deserves mention on that basis alone.

Madden 09 - This felt like the first sports game that didn't feel like a second job since NBA Jam and NFL Blitz. It was actually fun to the point of playing more than one match before turning it off.

Crackdown - You have to play it to believe it. This is not just "the game that came with the halo 3 beta." This game stands on it's own. Sure, the auto targeting can get frustrating and the melee attacking can be pretty unforgiving, but the game itself is incredibly fun.

Thats it for now... I typed a lot, so I'm gonna call it quits.

N.P.O.:
1. Total War (PC) - Yes, whole series, because post-Rome they're literally just mods of the same engine.
2. Civilization III (PC) - For all you nOObs, III is almost exactly like IV but with 2D graphics so it runs smoother. And you don't have put up with all the over-sized novelty animations Sid Meier thinks distract us from knowing we're just playing a spreadsheet. If I'd spent as much time pursing a career or a relationship as I've spent nuking Gandhi's railways...
3. BioShock (360) - The only thing I've ever started again right after finishing it.
4. Duck Hunt (NES) - How Mario beat out the Duck Hunt Dog as Nintendo's mascot will forever perplex me.
5. Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines (PC) - Best game evAr. If I go a month without playing it I gets the shakes. Aside from fixing technical glitches, it could only be improved by the addition of Batman. Like everything else in the universe.

Although I spend most of my time with consoles, several of my favourite games are PC titles. I guess I have my priorities mixed up.

1. Silent Hill 2
I can't see this being beaten for a very long time. It's so far in advance of every other release that I'm concerned and encouraged in equal measure... and yet I'm struggling to think of exactly why I like it so much. The overall experience of SH2 is something that completely transcends video games and becomes pure art. It exists as a complete whole which cannot be reduced to a recipe of ingredients or a highlight reel. Nothing makes sense and yet everything makes sense. The attention to detail is staggering. I could go on and on about the symbolism and the sophistication but it's been done to death already. Suffice to say it will probably never be equaled.

2. Half-Life
In my opinion, the perfect game. I've probably played through it a dozen times and it never gets old; nothing else in gaming is as consistently and relentlessly entertaining from start to finish. The lack of cutscenes only serves to make it even more compelling.

3. Final Fantasy VII
Like most people born in the mid- to late-eighties I have an undying attachment to this game. I love everything about it: the characters, the plot, the battle system, the pacing, the mood, the soundtrack, the interface...

4. Deus Ex
Completely unique, even to this day. Fantastic plot/scenario & interesting cast of characters. Coolest ever protagonist in a game. Tackles important issues without every being preachy or patronizing.

5. Operation Flashpoint
Probably the game I have played more than any other. Every scenario plays out differently each time and the sense of fear & vulnerability is always utterly convincing. The way the game just works by itself never ceases to amaze me. Also has a very cool community.

(my top 25 would be far less predictable, honest!)

My top 5 list won't be entirely genuine, since I'll eskew games from the same franchise. As it stands my list is packed with Shin Megami Tensei games, so for this one I'll just pick one of them and put it in there. Here I go.

1. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3
Along with Lucifer's Call/Nocturne and the two Digital Devil Saga games, Persona 3 is my favourite game of all time. The game is incredibly addictive, and the story very well told. The characters are all fun to hang out with, and the dating sim aspect of the game was done so darn well that sometimes I just wanted to attend classes and hang out with the girl that I was dating instead of grinding it up. The battle system is also great, after you've played the Press Turn Battle system with it's risk and reward mechanics, you'll have a hard time going back.

2. The Longest Journey
April Ryan. That's all I have to say, her name. This game is fantastic because all the characters, not just April, are so darn believable and well voiced that you are swept along its surprisingly involving storyline. While the gameplay is pretty much typical adventure game stuff, it plays much better because the puzzles make sense in the context of what you are doing, though sometimes they can be just be friggen weird. The game is simply amazing.

3. Initial D: Arcade Stage Version 3
The arcade racer to end all arcade racers. With its great selection of complex Mountain Passes, great car selection and absolutely fantastic soundtrack; this game just keeps sucking your coins until your pockets are empty. But you don't regret it, because the multiplayer one on one battles against other people with their tuned cars is some of the most fun I have ever had.

4. Half-Life 2
Valve has created a legend, the legend of the One Free Man. This opus is his tale, and his tale is your tale. That is what I love about Half-Life 2, the developers have managed to make the player the real driving force behind the character by making him a mute and having NPC's have one sided conversations with a floating gun. The level of immersion and the sheer fun the physics based puzzles and the numerous gunfights throughout game gave me will be hard to top by another first person shooter.

5. Vagrant Story
The best game set in Ivalice. This game still plays like no other game to date, even its painting-like presentation is unique (I realize Romacing SaGa (PS2 remake) and Unlimted SaGa did this too, but in my opinion not as well). The story kept me enthralled throughout the entire time, and the pacing between story segments and gameplay was great. The main character, Ashley Riot, is still one of the most badarse anti-hero's going around despite his questionable attire (and hair-do).

Well there's my list.
