Infamous Scribbler Posts: 546 Joined: 27 Aug 2008 | God of War 1/2 - Both are kick ass, and while 2 is slightly better in everything but story, screw you if you want me to split them up. I've always loved Greek myths, and by adding in one of the best characters in a video game - inconic, brutal, awesome Kratos - they delivered a game that was about as close to perfect as you're gonna get (close because some of the puzzles are fucking stupid, and in Pandora's Temple I had no idea what to do so the first time I just gave up). Zone of the Enders 2 - It hasn't aged that well, but the art direction and fantastic combat are still pretty damn good even by today's standards. And you get to kill stuff with laserz, so hell yeah. Call of Duty 4 - I've sunk about thirty hours into the multiplayer... and I never do that. It's like goddamn crack. Rock Band - I suck at everything but guitar, but it's an amazing party game. |

Like, I have a favorite color, but when it comes to more serious things, I end up thinking, "Well, i like them all in different ways." You know, one is better than another in one way or another, but not overall better. Seriously, I don't have a favorite food, book, movie, show, game, anything. I could start naming my favorites, but favorite? Nein. Though I'm pretty confident in saying that CoH is my favorite RTS game ever. And, obviously, that's saying A LOT. Seriously. |

Paperboy Posts: 30 Joined: 6 Dec 2007 | 5. Vagrant Story - During Square's golden age of the PS1, this was the best thing they had ever made. Plus Sydney was hot for a videogame character. 4. Dead Rising - You can never kill enough zombies. 3. Earthbound - Do I really need to explain this? If you haven't played it on the SNES, DO SO. 2. Mass Effect - I adore this game. Picked up the PC re-release after I had already beat the 360 version several times just to enjoy it with the better menus and hotkeys. 1. Team Fortress 2 - I'm afraid to look up how much time I've actually sunk into playing this gem of multiplayer madness. The fact I've purchased it 3 different times is a testament to it's greatness. (1st on 360, then PC, then replaced the 360 copy I sold for when my PC was being repaired) Barely didn't make list- Bioshock, Portal, Shadow Hearts 2, Fallout, Katamari Damacy, Grim Fandango, Sam & Max |

Scary, a great atmosphere, brilliant voice acting, brilliant characters, interesting and immersive story, great setting (unda da seaaaa!). 3. You can play as Knuckles in Sonic 3, being Hyper Sonic is REALLY fun, the levels are brilliant, as is the music (I heard a rumor that Micheal Jackson did it :\). 2. Nostalgia... The first Pokemon game I played, great music, cool Pokemon, very fun, I think it's better than R/B/Y *Runs*. 1. I think the story is one of the best and most immersive in the history of gaming, it has great controls, challenging without being too hard, keeps you playing for a long time, excellent world and level design, if you haven't played this yet, GET IT, THE TACO NINJA ORDERS YOU! |

I've been playing Saints Row for almost two years, same with oblivion. I had played Crystal for around three years, and GTA:SA and Colloseum for one year. They are my top five for replay value and memories, the pokemon games and SA were a great memory from my childhood and SR and Oblivion are good memories of the first time I played my xbox. |

Half Life 2: Containing the most believeable and lifelike characters i've ever seen in a game, HL2 tops the list. That and the great combat and super fun physics puzzles +great graphics (for when it was released) make it superb. 2. Stalker("Shadow of Chernobyl" and "Clear sky"): Effectively combining two genres is tricky and 3 is darn near impossible but the stalker series remains in my head as the best and only Survival Horror/FPS/RPG ever. Plus it has the best shooting mechanics I've ever seen. 3.Perfect Dark: The true successor to Goldeneye, Perfect dark had a huge selection of fun and diverse weapons as well as customizable AI. I cant tell you how many hours my friends and I wasted in that game playing Farsight only matches. 4. Age of empires 2: This game was so much fun and I never even played the single player! I'd give myself endless hours of amusement in regicide. 5. Portal: c'mon everyone knows how great it is, there really isn't a need for an explanation. |

| (Pages: 1, 2) | |
1. Counter Strike - I've been playing since 2001, putting anything else in the top spot would be heresy.
2. Everquest - I played it for a long time almost exclusively and loved it.
3. Final Fantasy 7 - It wasn't my first RPG but it was the one which got me into the genre.
4. Homeworld 2 - As far as I'm concerned Homeworld 2 is a perfect example of what a space-based RTS should be: movement in 3D, necessary expansion to resource, hyperspacing, big honkin battlecruisers, and a mobile command center.
5. Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War - I loved it, played it obsessively, and have bought and enjoyed all of the expansions. If they hadn't screwed up the balance and the online ranking system so badly over the years I probably would have played online more but even solely in single player I love it.
That was a difficult list to put together...
Counter Strike beat Unreal Tournament, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Team Fortress Classic and Quake III: Rocket Arena because I've been playing it for so long and truly enjoy it and the community. I've loved many other shooters but none of them really stuck with me.
Everquest was easy because I have a lot of memories tied up in it, however, I truly enjoyed Guild Wars and played it more aggressively. When I quit I had 5 max level, perfectly equipped, and almost fully-skilled characters and I even gave my account to one of my clan-mates so they could continue to use it (though I found out later when I tried to log back in that she pillaged all of my characters).
Final Fantasy 7 won out because it was a starting point. I've played and enjoyed a decent number of RPG's since but it's not my favorite genre and few other RPG's have inspired me to play them to quite the level of completion I acquired in FF7 (only FFT and Oblivion really came close).
Homeworld 2 was difficult. I loved Red Alert and C&C but I have tried to replay them and they are just too slow and clunky for my modern brain. I love Company of Heroes but I don't play it anymore because it's exhausting to play for long periods of time... I enjoy it and respect what it does but I don't generally play games to be mentally drained afterward.
Dawn of War won because I've been playing it for years. I enjoy Starcraft but I haven't picked it up in years even though I was addicted for a while. I tried to play it recently but my attention span has been destroyed by games like DoW, I need instant and continuous action and Starcraft just doesn't deliver that for me anymore.
