At this point, pretty much all of us has a list of games that we have to get this year. What could go wrong with them, between here and now, that would make you not get them?

Fable 2 suddenly not having local co-op, Far Cry 2 having DRM, Fallout 3 not supporting any mods.

These are the three games I plan to buy, so that's why they are the only ones on my list.

Money. Money. Money.
I still don't have a solid list...mainly because I impulse bought condemned 2 when I saw it was 40$. Plus my recent dates burning a hole in my wallet. I have enough saved up for whatever I want, but seeing 300$ go in a period of 2 months is depressing for a freshman college student who's only spending money is what he banked over the summer working at Wal-Mart.

Well, that's because I really couldn't think of anything that could stop me from buying Far Cry 2.

EDIT: Now that I know what the topic actually was and am no longer confused:

As long as there are no drastic changes to any of the games I plan to buy for the rest of the year (LBP, Fable 2, GeOW 2, Mirror's Edge, Resistance 2) I'm pretty sure I'll be getting all of them.

Is Co-op in Fable II really that neccesary?

Well I have all the games I plan to get for the rest of the year pre-ordered and fully paid, so the only thing that could stop me is getting hit by a bus at this point. Or getting killed or deathly ill in some other way.

I sorta meant go wrong with the games.

Wait, what? What sort of titles are big and upcoming? I heard Fallout 3, and that sounds all right, but like, what else? Gears of War 2, Bionic Commando, er....LittleBigPlanet maybe....I can't really think of any big games that are coming out. Could be because I actively avoid reading gaming news[/SuperMegaIrony], what kind of stuff is coming out?

Oh man, Bethesda would be really shooting themselves in the foot if they really do not support mods. I really hope that when the game is finally out the door, they get to working quickly on the mod set. And I mean quickly!

Seriously bud, I do recomending getting one ASAP, side effect to market crash will be Sony being right about "10 year plan" since it's obvious by the numbers that american drive the console wars to advance, shit... could be longer. You don't get any cheaper entertainment than gaming and internet.

Yes. Yes it is. Local co-op is the main reason I'm buying the game. Sure, it would be great without it, but messing about in Albion with a friend is just too good to pass up. The online just wouldn't cut it. If it just had online co-op, I would be grievously disappointed.

Not sure about local, but Mr Molyneux has apparently said online co-op will be available from launch, contrary to recent reports that it'll arrive in a patch.

1. Well, for me, not getting a new X-Box 360, as M$ refuses to fix mine under warranty.
2. Munnies - Can't do much without them.
3. Personal Stupidity - I have a bad history with this, such as forgetting games
4. Evil Gremlins - a.k.a. siblings.

If you mean Canadian dollars (I assume you do, seeing as your profile says you're Canadian) then no.

$380 Canadian Dollars = $450 Australian dollars.

A regular Xbox360 costs us $400. How are you getting an Elite for so cheap it's not fair the gaming industry hates Australia rakadakadakadak!

All that relationships rubbish and seeming lack of focus on story in Fable 2 has convinced me not to get it yet.

EDIT: And not having any money. That could be a problem. Damn present wanting family members.

Starcraft II not releasing on time, for all the others my only obstacle is Vista. Vista exclusive = no purchase.

Actually WTEriccson, a hobby of mine is to keep track of video game stock and believe it or not the ONE commodity that is not affected by this economic downturn IS the video game industry. Their stocks with the exception of Take Two has remained stable and you can actually look up each one on Yahoo stocks or if you have microsoft money you can put them on a watch list.

This article by Gamecyte actually gives you the majority of the stock codes and you can see how the game industry is safe, but the american dollar is not.

Far Cry 2 having DRM knowing Ubisoft this is very likely

Fallout 3 not supporting any mods. Bethesda has no construction set for Fallout 3 planned, so sorry, but no mods. Well....YET.

These are the three games I plan to buy, so that's why they are the only ones on my list.

What will stop me from getting littlebigplanet:

1. Death

2. Getting Paralyzed.
