Dawn of War 2 and God of War 3:

T rating or under. Sorry to be so "shallow" but violence gives those games that edge.

Must-have games? What must-have games? I'm simply not interested in most of what's on offer this season.

Beyond that, I've barely a cent to my name after the bills are paid...grr, stupid inflation...

I wasn't sure that death could come to a game.

Mirror's Edge - 1st person? Why?

I don't really get this.

If you're actually listing the games as an expected game, you'd think that the fact that it's first person is one of its selling features. We've had plenty of these games in third person, making it first person is a refreshing change of pace.

Maybe some people don't want a change of pace.

Dead Space - ah Dead Space, I am so looking forward to you. I have already paid for you and am looking forward to your arrival. So I will play you, even if the previously mentioned shark does take off my arms, I will make my wife play while I watch (that sounded a lot more sexual than I entended).

Haven't heard about this. Any details to spare?

Money. Money. Money.

This.

Not having a job and having ABSOLUTELY NO MONEY in your bank account really sucks.

This is Dead Space, and yeah, it looks awesome.

What would stop me:
Fable 2 not having local (one console) co-op, Fallout 3 revealed by Bethesta to have a downloadable pack for dog armour available shorty after release. Call of Duty 5 (not really a game for this year but anyway) not having a vast majority of the game based on the Russian side of things.

What might stop me:
Farcry 2 not having split screen multiplayer. (which it doesn't)

What would have stopped me had I known it before I bought the damn thing:
Mercenaries 2 having a complete lack of local co-op, a story that I can complete in one day, lackluster explosion and building collapsing effects, repetetive and corny dialogue (though I was expecting the later and figured I could put up with it) and the ability to for anything to be only thirty metres away from a Nuclear explosion and not be hurt.

Playing the game at a friends house who got it first and finding out it sucks regardless of the hype or what looked like a good idea. Im a bit worried about borderlands , fallout 3 and cod5 because of this.

Yes. I'm looking forward to playing the game. Running around, jumping, punching peoples face in. It looks like great fun. I'm just questioning why it should be in 1st person. I mean, if you jumping around surely it would be more useful if you could see your feet so you know what your doing exactly. Otherwise, it might seem a bit like you don't have any real control over yourself. I'm more than willing to be proved wrong, and it should be good laugh either way, I'm just questioning whether 3rd person would make it better. Doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to it.

It got to play this also last weekend, i didn't have any issues with the first person. I just had issues with the game itself...

I don't get it. Whats the appeal of this game over, say, Resistance 2?

It's not that it's better, they're completely different games. Forgive me if I'm wrong, I don't know too much about Resistance 2, but it's an FPS through and through, right? Dead Space is survival horror, with a vulnerable protagonist, scarce ammo, and numerous freaky-ass enemies.

I was recently diagnosed with "completely broke" and "having little to no free time," which together represent a sickness so powerful that even House couldn't fix it.

I think Resistance 2 does beat it for freaky-ass enemies. As for the others, don't all the screenshots show him in space armour? I admit that that is the smartest thing to do in that situation, but it does cripple the survival elements if you hand the guy recharging armour, a plasma cutter and make him fight melee enemies. Thats like asking us to believe that Rose could still be in danger from the Daleks when she starts glowing and controlling time.

It's not combat armor, it's basically just a space suit. The main character is an engineer, not a soldier, and most of the "weapons" are actually mining tools that he uses in desperation to defend himself with.

Yeah, but still - a chainsaw isn't a weapon, its a tool, but when someone grabs one the odds still swing signifigantly in his favour

There are only 2 I am looking forward to release on the console, Deadspace and Fable 2. Only reason im looking forward to Fable 2 is because of the coop mode. So i guess the only reason I wouldnt buy them on console would be

1. they come out for PC. then imma borrow them.
