Wow that was stupid, you could have just sold it. |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 599 Joined: 28 Jul 2008 | The Atari Jaguar (and its stupid JaguarCD) is one of the wost consoles ever. Apart from Aliens vs Predator (the original FPS) and Tempest 2000 (woop-de-fraggin'-doo, a fun game, but you must be kidding me), there were only incomplete mortal kombat clones, Fight for Life (a bad Virtua Fighter-like game), Rayman (ok that was great), Bubsy (16-bit era game), and more crap. DooM looked fine, but that's the end of it... Anyone ever played on a Tiger game.com ? this looked like one of the worst things ever. I played two games on the N-Gage, I think they were Tomb Raider and Sonic, well it's nothing to write home about, and the first model was not en argonomic phone at all... The GP32 was quite uninteresting, apart from emulators, Korean untranslated games and demos, what was there to play ? Homebrew ? meh, most of it were half-assed project for contests and nobody gave a crap, plus the analog was imprecise and unsteady... Overpriced too... |

I never really liked the PS1 (this was when I was younger) because the control was so weird and practical compared to the Nintendo 64 controller. Also that in the PS version of sarges war everything looks better :/ Young fanboy-ism that is. |

Or you could of burn it and put a video of it up on youtube. |

Its the N64, does it really matter how you button-mash? Man I liked that console. |

Though while the controllers was quite impractical, the games were made of win. |

I recently got one of these on the cheap. Emulation of most of the older gen systems on it are great. You can even play DOS games. Try and give it another shot. I'd say its one of my favorite handhelds. And no mention of the Nomad? Does anyone even remember that one? It was essentially the "portable" Genesis, although its about as portable as a compact car. And you would need a nuclear reactor to power that thing. |

I don't like the ergonomy, not comfortable enough to play Neo Geo games (my PSP suits that better), and the SNES emu is still not 100% stable. Plus I couldn't be arsed into caring enough as of now, but thanks for the suggestion. As for DOS games, I am tuning DOSBox and SCUMMVM on my laptop, so it's not a big incentive... Well the Nomad, as far as I could understand, was almost exclusive to the US market, and as such it's something of a collector item in Europe, but yeah I heard the battery ran so fast it was worse than a Game Gear (surprisingly enough the Lynx always ran quite fine and ate the batteries a bit slower than the GG). Wilson> Try the Lynx I (the Lynx II is a bit more comfortable), you'll love the GG. I've sold my Lynx II to a friend a couple years back because he was a huge fan of Chip's Challenge when he had one. Good ideas, but basically a terrible console with nigh-impossible games (Kung-Food and Batman Returns, for instance). |

Actually that is right about how you should avoid people like that I tend not to listen to anyone who deems themselves to be "cool". Erhem, *Cough* Macintosh *Cough*. Argh, curse your user name and it's quoting interfering abilities. |

BUT EVEN WITH CRUISE CONTROL YOU HAVE TO STEER ! |

HAVEN'T YOU SEEN ENCYCLOPEDIA DRAMATICA? COOL PEOPLE DON'T NEED TO STEER! Okay enough of that. It's like I am yelling at people point blank. Back on topic, ey chaps? |

I read ED daily, but unless they rewrote the article again, they remind you that steering is mandatory, at least in the pix gallery. |

I remember being like 6 years old and wanting one..Never got it. I still want one just for sake of hving it. what was that SEGA handheld that mainly featured a dolphin? Ecco wasn't it? That's my vote. |

Wikipedia says it was called the Game Gear, and one of the games was called Ecco. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 454 Joined: 22 Aug 2008 | no no, there was something else I swear. Because i liked the Game Gear, there was something smaller... |

Now this is not fair. My feelings towards the product itself should not mean that I am not allowed to talk about a widely accepted problem. This is like saying that I shouldn't be able to say that John Howard looks like a Bridge Troll just because I'm not a Young Liberal. |

Is it entertaining and fun? I have never got to play one of them. I have just heard from past experiences that it was an abomination of some sorts. Also, is it true there is a new N-Gage in creation or am I just turning insane? |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 599 Joined: 28 Jul 2008 | I heard there is a N-Gage 2 indeed, they are already 2 models for the first one (very first model having awkward mouth- and earpiece positioning). Dommyboy> probation ? but why ? I don't see what caused it. |

Here are some prototype pictures of the new N-Gage: http://www.slashphone.com/media/data/766/n-gage-2.jpg http://www.mobileburn.com/imagepop.jsp?Id=1356&file=media%2Fnokia%2Fconcept%2Fthumb_concept_gaming_closed.jpg http://www.mobileburn.com/imagepop.jsp?Id=1356&file=media%2Fnokia%2Fconcept%2Fthumb_concept_gaming_open.jpg It looks a lot more practical than the first and may have better emulations on it. They are trying to move it into being a smart phone, rather than a large object to haul around and look like a freak. I don't really see why a phone company would attempt at a gaming mechanism though, especially one that was as far fetched as the last. |

No anything with gaming. Even the faintest relation to gaming if you want. I also dislike DDR, it is too fast paced and I get confused if people are either talking about a dancing video game or a type of computer RAM. |

I am actually a big DDR fan and it's not as hard as everyone makes it out to be. Everyone's gotta start somewhere. Anyway, I'd probably say the PS3. Sorry to say but any console that could spontaneously combust and has like no decent games for it isn't really worth anyone's time or money. |

That is a great use for the system, its always fun to just take something that sucks and smash it. |

Did anyone anywhere actually buy a Virtual Boy?
