How the hell has no one mentioned the ghost from Halo. That thing was pure awesome, fast, mobile, good weapons, It was like the perfect vehicle for me and I would fuck shit up when I got in it. Not even the almighty tank and banshee were safe from my wrath.

The reason nobody's mentioned it is that as soon as somebody climbs in, they are universally referred to as a newb.

Well then noob I am. The tank is more "noob" than the ghost though

The Mongoose from Halo 3. It's got no guns and no protection whatsoever. It's difficult to kill people by hitting them with it, and it's difficult for a passenger to get a good shot with any weapon while riding it.

My favorite vehicle is everything from Halo 3, even the non-driveable (especially the Pelican).

And Koopa Shells in Super Mario 64.

Either the Mi17 or the Mi24 in Operation Flashpoint. I love Russian Helicopters.
Failing that I'll go for a T-72 or T-80.

Samus' ship in Metroid Prime 3. Sure you dont get to pilot it, but you get to command it instead and it is really cool looking.

My vehicle has 4 inch armour plating, mag bumper suspension, a mounted machine gunner position and total seating for 3. Gentleman this the M12 LRV I like to call it the "Warthog".

The Mako in Mass Effect. I've heard a lot of people bitching about it, but I honestly don't see what's so bad about it. The only complaint I ever had was the extremely slow regen rate for the shields. But the handling and weapons and everything were fine, and the sequences where you drive it were pretty fun.

I would've said the Normandy, but I don't think it really counts...

Also the King of Red Lions. Say what you will but a boat that can pull out a cannon thicker than IT earns points for me.

I haven't played it myself, but I guess in Infinite Undiscovery you can ride around on a bear. That sounds pretty nifty to me.

I'll definately have to say that the warthog is the biggest piece of crap in halo. I really wish I could play the last level with a real vehicle, like a ghost. I would rather drive the MAKO from mass effect or the golden chocobo from FF7.

Agreed - apart from racing games, Operation Flashpoint has my favourite list of weapons. But I was always more of an M1A1 or A-10 man myself - even better if you're into game modification.

Thirded! Me and my cousin tried to get a FAV onto a Titan using a dropship. It failed badly, ended up killing my whole team. But hey! We had some laughs.

Anything from red faction 2 - possible the most underrated shooter i can think of right now...

X1 Alpha - Future Cop LAPD.

A heavily armed walker that can turn into a hover-car? Doesn't get much better than that.

UT3 had some great vehicles and the ability to hover/grapple was great. But my favorite of them is the Dark Walker, simply due to the bad ass factor. Nothing like piloting an HG Wells type walking tank with two cannons that scream "Eat hot death".

I'm not sure if she counts as a vehicle, but Epona, even if she had the tendancy to stop at a gentle slope.

Other than that:

The Mad-Cat in the Mechwarrior Series. Not only is it a decent mech, but to me it looks the most badass.

MadCat is the Inner Sphere codename for it, but the real clan names are the true names (sorry if it seems anal, but a 15+ year Battletech Junkie is bound to have a few quirks no?). MadCat, storywise, became its codename because the IFF/Vehicle Recognition software couldn't pinpoint the new unknown design when it was first spotted, and kept switching between Maurader (ID Sign MAD-3R) and Catapult...

The Timber Wolf is a great pick though. One of the three most versatile Clan Mechs of the initial invasion, and undeniably one of the most imposing looks in the game.

Clanwise, my pick goes to the Warhawk as my favorite Clan design (Nova a close second, Timberwolf third), and the Warhammer as my favorite IS design (Marauder second, Centurion third).

Haha! My mistake! I can admit I never got into Mechwarrior until, like, Mechwarrior 2 so I'm sure there is much Battletech canon I'm unaware of.

Also, I totally forgot about the Marauder...sweet design.

Mechassault had a decent amount of vechiles that were fun.
The Xbox revision of Conker's Bad Fur Day had some really cool vechiles too like a hover helicopter, transport/bomber jet and tank that spewed acid.

Oh gods yes! The amount of times I took out a tank with a single jeep, a kamakaze driver and a few detpacks in the back are too numerous to count. Also, hooning around the map in a jeep = much fun... until you drive off a cliff... (which has happened on too many occasions :P)

I love driving Warthogs. Hell on wheels when I get in the driver's seat of one of those beasties.

Short of that, I am partial to the MAKO. Handles a little slow on steep inclines, and the shield-regen is a bitch...but damn, has it got firepower. (Plus, it can jump over rockets. JUMP OVER ROCKETS!!!)
