Hey, i'm on Xbox live and i'm pretty damn bored so i was thinking i'd buy me an Xbox original, anyone got any reccomendations? I was thinking maybe Destroy All Humans or Fahrenheit. I've already gotten Psychonauts by the way.
Also what is your favourite original Xbox game? Just to make this thread more interesting.

Fable seems an appropriate choice, what with the upcoming sequel.

Well, Halo is a good game. But you probably already played it.

I would recommend Fable, Destroy All Humans!, and Jade Empire, personally having liked all three.

Stubbs the Zombie. It's an over-the shoulder fighter-shooter based on the Halo 1 engine, but you're the zombie and get to create zombie minions. It's also rather funny, albeit gory in spots.

If we're talking X-Box exclusives, then I'd go for Conker, JSRF: Jet Set Radio Future, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I & II and Blinx.

If multi-platform, then Timesplitters 2, Spider-Man 2 and The Simpsons Hit & Run.

Darth Marsden:
JSRF: Jet Set Radio Future.

Picked that up the other day for the princely sum of £1.99.

If you like old school adventure games the Xbox had two of my favourites, Myst IV and Syberia. Both excellent games.

Oh and on any system in that generation, pick up the Megaman Anniversary Collection. All 8 original Megaman games and the first two in the X series. 10 games, and should only run you about ten bucks. Talk about a bargain.

EDIT - Whoops, you wanna DOWNLOAD, an original Xbox game. Right then, disregard, I have no idea what selection is available. I refuse to delete my post though, people should know about the games I mentioned

I've only got Crash Bandicoot and that's better than most games out at the moment.

Knights of The Old Republic. I remember when my PC was broken and I was waiting for a new one, it was one of the only decent games I had for my Xbox, and I spent so long playing it. Such a brilliant game.

Well, I would have said Ninja Gaiden Black, but for some reason Microsoft have decided to stop making it available for download. Which really, really sucks.

Anyway, if you're looking to buy original Xbox games too, I recommend getting Panzer Dragoon Orta. It's a rail shooter, but I doubt you'll ever play a more beautiful, original and captivating shooter than this one.

The Warriors. I'm stubbornly holding on to my copy despite not having my original Xbox anymore, on the slim chance that a 360 update will add it to the backwards support list. I love that damn game.

I'm not sure if you can get it on xbox 360 but if you liked psychonauts and you can find it I'd recommend Stranger's Wrath. It's an old Oddworld game that was pretty fun.

Stubbs is dirt cheap on steam, if you wanna go PC, it is great fun tho!

I'd recommend Gladius and the original Mercenaries, I don't know if they're doanloadable tho, I'm just going on good xbox games I remember.

Jade empire is an epic. Should munch up a lot of your time whilst you wait for any new games.

Sid Meier's Pirates! is alright. I've heard it's loads better on the PC though, so take it with a grain of salt.

Fahrenheit (AKA Indigo Prophecy) all the way. Great game.

I would have said Psychonauts if you didn't already have it. That, Fable and Halo: CE are my favorite original Xbox games.

If you can find it, get Samaurai Jack. That was a great game based on the even greater cartoon.
Another gem from the Xbox era you don't hear much about is Lord of the Rings The Third Age. It's a bit like Final Fantasy but set in the the LOTOR universe and has a story that runs parallel to the events in the movies. The LOTOR movie-based games were also good. Some of the best movie based games you'll ever see, especially Return of the King.

LOTR The Third Age is pretty much just a clone of the trilogy with less interesting character though...

I'd heard there was a Samurai Jack game. Assumed it was balls like all other tie in games.

Stubbs the Zombie
Destroy all Humans
Psychonauts

Although several other ones are good (Fable, Jade Empire) Although I found them cheaper to buy pre-owned or on PC.

why is everyone just listing the 9 or so games available for download over and over again? pointless

I thought he was asking for good ones among those, given his choice of wording.

In that case I also recommend Halo 2.
