If Gears 2 or Fable 2 delivers, then I hope either wins "Best 360 game" because last year, the 360 kept winning multiplat games. It would be nice if the 360 won in it's own damn category this time. Fallout 3's a lock for PC GotY assuming Bethesda doesn't completely and utterly fuck it up. If I had to put my money down on something I'd put it on GTA4. |

It looks epic, beautiful, immersive and fun, and is aiming at being ground breaking in terms of being an open world FPS. And it's coming on all platforms, which will help. The other contenders look like they'll be good, but also kinda tread old ground. Far Cry 2 at least promises way more. |

I can say that Far Cry 2 is going to be amazing and I won't stop playing it for at least 6 months because of the map editor. Now to force everyone I know into buying it! :D 2008 topping 2007? Two words: FUCK YEAH ... Oh and honourable mentions to Mirror's Edge, Gears of War 2, Fable 2, DeadSpace, Saints Row 2, Left 4 Dead, and many many others. |
Beat Writer  Posts: 218 Joined: 11 Aug 2008 | Gears might win, but its an outside chance seeing as innovation is usually taken into account when awarding GOTY prizes it probably wont. Left 4 dead should win( if it delivers) and it might, but the lack of single player or a real story mode might stop it. Fallout 3 seems the most likely candidate as it already has a huge following and promises to be an epic worthy of song and dance, but its easy to promise. |

Gears of Wars 2 is going to be GOTY just because its Gears of War 2, its critical acclaim is going to be mixed and its not going to win any awards for innovation but its going to win. You don't need to worry about Left 4 Dead, trust me its going to deliver bigtime. Left 4 Dead wouldn't be fun if it was purely single player and there is a story. Its drip-fed to you as you play. When i got to play it at the PCG showdown it was like crack-cocaine, it was pure fun. I can see it easily being the next Counterstrike. |

Glad to hear, I'm really looking forward to this game. 2008 really is lifting my gamer spirits. I was afraid I was turning into a crotchety, jaded gamer throughout 2007 since there really wasn't much I liked. |
