Forgot about my DS, Advance wars was the deciding factor for me too.
Yeah I know but I never liked the term. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1519 Joined: 18 Sep 2007 | For my Xbox, I bought it to prepare for Halo 2 in August 2004. However, I did buy it along with a "Platinum Hits" copy of KOTOR. For my Xbox 360, it was my hopes (eventually realised, yay!) for an invitation to the Friends and Family portion of the Halo 3 Beta test that triggered my purchase... but Gears of War and the Arcade were also on my mind. -- Steve |

I liked it, just bought it again for the PS3. |

Agreed. I only had so much money, and couldn't afford the new PC rig it would have taken to run Oblivion like my 360 does. So I got a 360 and got Oblivion. And, even though I know everyone and their pet fish on this forum seems to HATE any console version of the game, I loved it. It's one of my favorite games on the system, if not my number 1. And before the flaming begins, let's remember: To each their own, right? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1149 Joined: 23 Oct 2007 | Gran Turismo 4 was the game that made me buy a PlayStation 2 - I have never bought another game for it, with my other PS2 games coming as presents, or, as the second-hand PS2 that I bought was a replacement for a broken one, coming in the system tray (I got Tekken 5 because somebody from the store didn't remove it from the CD tray when they were testing it!). |

I'm down with almost all of that, especially Crimson Skies, but GoW 3? Isn't that a bit weird? Not only is it not out, it's so far away. Granted, they'd have to work pretty hard to screw up GoW. Six months is a long time though (I'm going by the only rumoured release date I could find which is march 2nd in Europe) we basically know nothing about the game. |

Good choice with Evil Zone. I have that game and while cheesey it is also great. Can't really see your choice in all the Smash Bros references though, but like yous aid, those are for you. for me: NES: Zelda Genesis: Sonic (though now it would be Landstalker) Playstation: Final Fantasy VII and Metal Gear Solid Xbox: Don't recall why I got an Xbox actually Other systems I have and don't recall what Killer App got me to get them (that or they didn't have one and I got them for collectability) are: Virtual Boy |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 2859 Joined: 10 Mar 2008 | Can't remember why I got a PS1/PS2 at the time, but I'll just say it was because I wanted to play their games. For PS3 though, I got it for MGS4. And with LittleBigPlanet on the horizon, I think I made the right choice :D |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1139 Joined: 6 Jun 2008 | My first 360 game was Oblivion, damn fine game. But I had Halo 2 before that, I really bought my 360 for Halo. When I first got my Gamecube it was months before I got a memory card and a game besides Super Smash Bros Melee. But as it turns out Metroid Prime made that system for me, and Wind Waker and Super Mario Sunshine to a lesser extent. And my New Years tradition of an epic Mario Kart Double Dash playthrough, good times. |

Best idea i ever had though because around that time i was getting into JRPGs (and then sorta got sick of the more unimaginative ones), other fighters. The silent hill series. Mmmm, good times. |

hell yeah |
Well, last night I gave in and bought a PS3.
The reason? Little Big Planet.
I've been holding out because I just couldn't justify the money.
Watched a trailer for LBP last night and within an hour I had forked out
the readies.
With the 360 it was Oblivion, the wii - Mario Galaxy, PS2 - Rez, Dreamcast - Dead or alive, Mega drive - Sonic, Snes - Super mario land, Amiga -Blood Money
What's been the "must have game" for other people thats caused them to buy a system?
