Gone Gonzo Posts: 2913 Joined: 21 Jan 2008 | Most of the time, I end up on a server with friendly-fire one, and I'm twitchy, with the usual results. sometimes though, I'll end up on a rockets-only match, or some other kind of explosive. Now, I can't aim for shit with those things, so I end up killing a team mate and enemy at the same time. In single player though, it's just for shits and giggles. Unfortunately, in COD4, you have to be creative in you method of TKing. |

First, when I was playing the Day of Defeat mod waaaay back, I threw a whole bunch of grenades into my own spawn area. The fun part was that I timed it with the group spawn. So nine of my team mates died almost instantly after spawning. I laughed my ass off and left the server. The second time was in Battlefield 2. The transport chopper was full so I stuck some charges to it and waited for it to take off. Waited a bit. Then *boom* and watched the fireworks. I laughed my ass off and left the server. |

Paperboy Posts: 45 Joined: 2 Jul 2008 | Hmmm...maybe I should post some of the replays off of my HD. I generally don't teamkill (unless with friends, we end up stopping mid-match and kill each other) but my one friend does an ungodly amount of it. Theres one match where he was kicked out with a negative 8 about 2-3 seconds in (halo 3, rockets, bigteam battle, valhalla)...I love to sit back and watch him bitch and moan because he just lost a rank for it too. I guess people do it for the hell of it. |

Muckraker Posts: 331 Joined: 3 Jan 2008 | and i will keep killing you until you listen to us! In CoD4, the tags don't show up right away so sometimes I'll just assume he's the enemy because he could be thinking the same thing. Natural selection is placed into action as someone run in front of my line of fire. I'll shoot him again if he blames me. |

PROBATION Posts: 1076 Joined: 6 Jun 2008 | I need a reason? Seriously though, I don't TK on purpose often, just when I'm in a bad mood and want to blow off some steam. Other than that, reasons that have already been said. He needs to die or accidental rocket to the face because he can't see the rocket heading to the enemy. Copy Clerk Posts: 58 Joined: 2 Sep 2008 | Definitely my knee-jerk reactions in FPSs. If you get caught off guard in an FPS, you can usually bet your gun-toting ass that you're gonna die, so when someone runs in front of me or pops out right in front of me, just so that their "friendly" tag that floats above their heads is just out of the screen, well. I usually unload a clip into them. -.- But then there are the newbs who find it profoundly hilarious to run straight in front of my vehicle/grenade/line of fire/etc. and cause me to lose points for team killing. bleh |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 632 Joined: 15 Jun 2008 | There are two reasons why I team kill. 1. I like to use explosives. 2. I have terrible aim. I can't count the number of times I've chucked grenades only to inadvertantly stick a teammate in Halo 2. In resistance fall of man it seems that every time I throw a grenade it finds the one path out of my hand that will cause it to bounce back at me and kill me and my teammate. Rockets inevitably hit something I didn't notice and kill everyone on my team. I don't mean to team kill, it just happens. |
Copy Clerk Posts: 88 Joined: 3 Feb 2008 | good to hear my aiming with explosives isn't alone in being against me in the most ridiculous ways. Though my most recent accidental kills seem to involve vehicles aswell. I've gotten the annoying tendency to park them on top of that one teammate I can not see. A nice side effect is that once every while this happens to enemies too. |

I am a Sith Lord. What other excuse do I need? Actually, yes, I only team kill people who are being detrimental to my fun, unless Team Killing IS more fun. My friend Greg and I team-killed like crazy when we were playing Halo 3 on Legendary. My favorite story is when my friend Zach and I were playing Star Wars BattleFront II online. Someone jumped in and started stealing my kills. He killed my friend as I was shooting at him. In the process of shooting my friend down, he hit me a few times (I was right behind my friend stitching his ass with lasers) As SOON as my friend died, I flipped a 180 and pumped my teammate full of lasers. He damaged me while stealing my kill, so he deserved it. |

I take a childlike delight in pushing vehicles off of things they shouldn't be on in the first plalce. Like getting warthogs on top of bases, or inside caves, or on cliffs. Or parking my banshee on a very precarious rock. Or even getting a tank on top of the Zanzibar wheel thingie. They I push them off and almost every time someone is looking up at me saying "How the hell did you get that up there?" when it falls off and splatters them. |

In Halo: CE, in the middle of a heated and difficult coop level, there is nothing more cathartic and painful than being killed by your teammate just as you are about to win, or are in the most difficult situation. Plus, you would respawn endlessly behind your teammate- perfect for assassinations. Good times. |

Battletoads anyone? Where beating your buddy in the face with a femur was more entertaining than the rest of the game. :D |
Copy Clerk Posts: 106 Joined: 22 Jul 2008 | After I killed someone in my team my response is usually something like: "Oops, sorry" Because I generally suck at online games you better not play with me with friendly fire on, or you will hear this a lot. |

Press Junketeer Posts: 357 Joined: 9 Jul 2008 | The only time i could ever justify TKing is for revenge. One notable Halo 3 match we had this annoying peice of sewer filth on our match who simply wouldn't shut up, he insulted everyone and figured that was a good reason to dictate gameplay, anyone who didn't do as he asked he yelled at, and it hurt our gameplay as it was so off-putting. Eventually i snapped and told him I was going to bloody well kill him. I sought up out and tried to give him a few battle rifle shots in the face, although he kept dodging them, and then betrayed my himself. Next thing I knew the boot player option sprung up, so i was quick to shove that idiot off the match and got cheers from various players. So I guess my point is that if your game has an option to kick player, and someone on your side is being an asshole, provoke them into killing you and kick the bastard. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 361 Joined: 8 Sep 2008 | in a game with friends where we are completely fucked (i have extremely good judgement on these things, 55-100 percent accuracy depending on game, not counting games of chance of course) they dont beleive me, and its past the point of being fun. otherwise its only if someone is mean and intolerant AND incompetent, or so woefully incompetent that they can type english, but not read it at all ever. in a game with friends when its REALLY funny, or we have already won and it is mathematically impossible for us to lose. often both. |

Whenever I get some prick like that I immediatly mute him. But what you did sounds more satisfying. |
Muckraker Posts: 325 Joined: 4 Jun 2008 | Accidents and revenges are obvious reasons. Though I think TKing is sometimes justified if it benefits your team greatly. For example, let's say a nuclear-armed tank you need to use to destroy the enemy base is in bad shape. Then there's an enemy tank and a teammate close to it. I think shooting them both with a nuke is kinda OK. I mean, for greater good! Sacrifice for the great benefit of your team! |
Beat Writer Posts: 190 Joined: 1 Jan 2008 | I play games that don't have big shiny team indicators above everyone's head and require some sort of visual confirmation. In project reality for example, on MEC vs USA maps they both wear fairly similar uniforms. Sometimes things just seem "off" and you shoot first and ask why they were by their lonesome hiding in a bush facing your base after. However I never use an "excuse" I just humbly apologize and take the penalty. |

They either really annoy me, or its an accident
But I only play on a few games which have team killing as an option and then only the odd server that has the option enabled
