I was recently recommended these parts for a Gaming PC will these parts be able to play most new games like Crysis or Stalker?

1) CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 GHz
2) Motherboard - GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3L
3) VisionTek 900244 Radeon HD 4870 512MB
4) Case - COOLER MASTER Centurion 5
5) PSU - Thermaltake Purepower W0100RU 500W
6) Hard drive - Seagate Barracuda 500GB
7) RAM - G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800

We've actually got a thread very much like this, 'Will This Run'. From what I can glean from the discussion there- Yes. It will eat new games alive.

Go there, it will tell you how well your computer will run the game you desire to play. When looking at the recommended stats for crysis though, pay no attention to the vid card. I got a 9800GX2 and it says my vid card barely passes lol. The 4870 is more than capable of playing crysis and stalker though.

Yeah it will run it but you might want to upgrade on that mother board. (ddr3 and go future proof)

DDR3 is too expensive as of yet, at least for most people, and the boards taht support it are tpically more expensive. For just a little more you can upgrade to a Q6600 processer, which you can pick up for real cheap now.
