I loved that game, possessing the enormous enemy robots then going on a rampage FTW! I don't fully understand why it failed, perhaps the cartoony looks and lack of marketing, but it's such fun game to play. |

I was ecstatic for the latter two, as I'd been looking for cheap copies of both for over a year. Brigandine was just a nice surprise. |

The scary thing is that system shock 2 today still sells for more than freelancer, and one in excellent condition will go for the price of new software today. |

Fine, you may not like it. But (points to avatar) Ninja are sort of my thing. Also I should probably point out that the $30 thing is New Zealand dollars, which is roughly |

Atlus as a company makes purely awesome games, often with demons, dark, or mythology involved. It put you on edge, though it wasn'T bargain bin or anything. User was put on probation for: Poll: Deus Ex, Awsome game?. (Permanent) |

Paperboy Posts: 17 Joined: 15 Oct 2008 | The Longest Journey, I hadn't thought about that in a while, but I did genuinely enjoy it. I also picked up Eragon (new for $10 at Gamestop) which really exceeded my expectations considering the price. But, flying around on a dragon? Really, what's not to like? |
Muckraker Posts: 245 Joined: 21 Nov 2007 | I bought Total Annihilation in the original box for like $10 (not including shipping). I can't even find a place to buy cheap games from anymore. Gamestop used to have a bargain bin but then it discontinued the practice for some reason. All the used game shops in the area don't carry PC games, they aren't even allowed to buy them from people (as a number cashiers have told me) and Best Buy has a "Re-Released" rack with mostly crap. Once in a while I see something I could buy like Heroes of Might and Magic [insert #] but it's nothign I'm terribly excited about. If I had the option to walk into stores and spend 5-10 bucks on classic games my stock of games would triple in a week. I remember the first time I walked into Gamestop when they had that rack I walked out with the entire Doom series, Duke Nukem 3D plus an expansion or two, and I think the expansion to Warcraft 2... |

The Cartoony graphics were a bit odd for a game that was SUPRISINGLY damn serious for it's storyline- thats one of the things that made it charming to me though (like Fable). http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=08hsdfMrHuw http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy6nA18cN2A&feature=related God I love Krunk. |

Muckraker Posts: 243 Joined: 27 Mar 2008 | I do very well buying old games that were legendary hits, but which I never got 'round to playing. If it has a Game of the Year edition, and it's priced at $20, I might buy it. |

Alpha Centauri, got it for a buck at a garage sale, played it for hours upon hours. Homeworld as well for the same amount from the same place. Stupid people didn't know what they had. |

Muckraker Posts: 283 Joined: 20 Jan 2008 | Earth Defense Force 2017. Come on, even though EVERYTHING about that game screams "Budget B-Movie," and "Why don't we make it a video game and use 25% of the budget on candy?" it still kicks a monumental amount of ass just because of how addicting it is. |

A friend of mine has that game, I think I shall have to borrow it from him. |

Anonymous Source Posts: 5 Joined: 14 Oct 2008 | I bought shadow ops off a bargain bin, I guess that one was pretty cool. But also the arcade collections, like street fighters, MK3 and sonic. |
Beat Writer Posts: 171 Joined: 1 Jun 2008 | I purchased "Dark Cloud" not too long ago for a near-to-free tag and it was worth it. "Ratchet and Clank 1-3" were all great titles at bargain prices. And "Shadow of the Colossus" I purchased at a discount. I know those were all brought up in magazines, however I bought them on a whim. A fourth game franchise I bobbed for apples in was "WildArms 3". It received moderately poor reviews, but I enjoyed it none the less. Though I had knowledge of the series before the third installment. |
Beat Writer Posts: 140 Joined: 16 May 2008 | Ah, I thought of another one. I got Everything or Nothing 007 at a flea market for $5. It's not Goldeneye (what is, though?) but it was crazy fun - especially the level where you do a freefall from a cliff...that was rad. |

You're not kidding, one of the best (and my favourite) third person shooters out there. Shame about the framerate on the PS2 though. My best pickup was System Shock 2, 5 dollars at EB. My eyes almost popped out of my head when I was browsing through the pile. |

System Shock 2 for a fiver back in the day. I'd like to see anyone beat THAT.
