There are so many threads on here about accent so let's hear them. Post a video or whatever of you answering these simple questions:

1) What's your name?
2) How old are you?
3) Where are you from? Are you living there right now?
4) What's the time?
5) What was the last thing you listened to?
6) What was the last video game you played?
7) What's your favorite video game? Why?
8) Quick! Find a book, or something with text on it! Flip to a random page and read some of it! GO!
9) What was the last movie you saw? How was it?
10) Do YOU think you have an accent? Talk about that.

Now go go! If you're camera shy just post a voice recording or something, but it would be nice to see some faces! Alternatively if you're really arrogant, do it naked.

Unfortunately I dont have any way of recording my voice or footage or I might have tried this. All I can say is that I speak english relatively well with a somewhat imported Brittish accent I got from speaking english with Brits most of the time. Though it should be pretty easy to hear im foreign, I can also fake a bad dutch/english accent because I think its funny and it draws attention when im in another country. It makes me sound like Niko Bellic a bit.

I'd wake someone up if I went and got my webcam, and recorded myself talking randomly.
But I will get a response done tomorrow :)
Expect to see me wearing an XBL headset mic, my webcam's mic sucks.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much interest. Lol I just used my psp. And I think your accent sounds pretty cool! I'm a big fan of accents and other languages in general so this thread is kinda for my benefit in some ways haha

haha, yeah I tend to be an 'accent sponge'. I bet if I hang out with an Australian long enough ill be talking like Crocodile Dundee in no time! I think I actually picked up a few terms and words from watching Flying Doctors religiously.

A guy we had round for dinner one time said i could do press conferences in his stead, mind you he was drunk...

also, would an average gaming headset do for this? cause i've got one lying around somewhere... not that im quite THAT outgoing to post my voice on the internet

I don't have any accent that I know of, but I pick them up fairly quickly.

Aww... I wish I had a webcam or a microphone otherwise I'd have tried this. Well I'm from England so it's not anything special. And I live in Stafford in Staffordshire, the only county without a regional accent. So yeah. Some people say I sound northern but meh. I'm 30 miles from any Brummie accent so that's a plus.

Have to agree completely with this except for the part where I 'haven't revealed who I am'. I find I'm actually more honest about myself here than IRL, which is slightly worrying (although that's only since people don't ask who I am normally and my friends and flatmates already know all about me...).

Anyway, if anyone here is active on XBL then you may hear a lot from me over summer if you find me playing (my Gamertag is probably going to be the same as my name, so just 'Trivun' as always). Don't have it yet but watch out for a British accent with slight 'Black Country' undertones over summer :)

I will download the software to record video stuff tomorrow, I think this is a good idea, plus it will help us recognise faces in the future, at possible meet up's and all that. Nice job on making this idea! I will post a vid tomorrow :)

I don't do pictures/videos, that is a very good idea, though.

I'm from north east england, and to anyone in thge north east, i sound like a smoggie (means im from middlesbrough) but as soon as you go further south, everyone thinks im a geordie (people from newcastle) It gets quite annoying

I can easily differentiate the Geordie and Liverpudlian (Scouse) accents, as it happens I live with three Scousers myself :) However, despite living in the North at the moment (Leeds is North East, after all...), I can't really distinguish any other northern accents. Or south, for that matter, though I can tell the different accents that make up the Midlands (I'm Black Country myself, though some say I have a Brummie accent even though it's completely different :s).

The only county without a regional accent? Stafford maybe, but venture into Stoke and you'll hear the voices of angels! (if they got their heads kicked in on a daily basis). I'm from Stoke, so I have a Stokie accent which is like an uglier version of Mancunian, but mine is only slight. It gets worse when i'm angry or drunk however...

I literally just recorded myself on my psp (I have the camera attatchment thing) and then uploaded it to youtube. A digital camera works too. You can upload it to photobucket or something else instead if you don't want a video of yourself on youtube
