It isn't unheard of for a male to be used in place of a female, if they could produce a good sound in a soprano pitch. Sex doesn't always matter, and if you couldn't tell the difference then it shouldn't matter anyway. Sometimes a person can settle and still come out with a desired effect. Low and behold, technology can also do a wonderful thing to a persons voice too.
