I have absolutely no idea what people think when they see my user name. Sure, you could surmise that I like the legend of Beowulf, but I think most people probably wonder what the "DW" stands for.

I just like my name. Well the first three letters of my name anyway.

The infamous SCAMola:
That I'm infamous, and I scam people.

To me though, you'll always be that Freud guy who did the Yahtzee thread on WarCry.

I was hoping for a real freakout too. The reaction I got was, one guy tried to have me baned, and everyone else just kind of sat there saying "no, he's talking about the board game, not Yahtzee." And then I came clean.

You guys ditched me. It would have been so much better if a whole bunch of Escapists went to WarCry to talk about "Yahtzee."

I have absolutely no experience playing Yahtzee, so it would have been quite hard to actually get a discussion going, although I do remember posting something in that thread...

But yeah, WarCry is dead now, so I guess that's the end of tht.a

Internet rule: always assume you are talking to a dude unless you are presented with unquestionable evidence; chances are its either a 55 year old pedo, or a police officer on a sting operation!

Or both.

Not really sure if that would be better of worse really...just disturbing mostly. Don't know if you are British but they just prosecuted an ex-cop on child porn charges, so your idea rings true!

Canadian, but I figured it would have had to have happened by now.

If you look closely though, you'll see that everyone posting in the forums is an escapist border jumper. All the WarCry regulars left for new grounds.

I think people think 3 things "He's honest about size" "He's seen that Scrubs episode (I haven't by the way)" and that "He really likes small gherkins." The answer is C.

Anyway, what do you think that people think of you, because of your username?

I think they think I'm pretty creative, 'cause that's what my handles are. Usually.

No one has ever said anything abot my username. And in my experience, many people comment more on avatars than on usernames.

You chose your name for a reason, because it has some relation to you. So how could you blame people for relating you to a throbbing ego when you relate yourself to it.

However if there is no connection and you named yourself "ThrobbingEgo" out of sheer madness, yet didn't want it related to you, your not very bright. If I walk around with the word "Gay" above my head people are obviously going to make some connection.

No one's ever judged me on my name, but no one on Steam seems to realise that it's pronounced "Bel/tom" not "Belt/om". I came up with this username back when I was reading the Belgariad and I couldn't think of a better one than sticking "Bel" in front of my name.

To be honest.
I get banned a lot but I'm a pretty nice person.
The whole evil thing is just a thing of the beer-holder.

But people do kinda expect me to be all... me-alike.

That I'm going to be an incredibly patriotic and Xenophobic Brit. I'm not; my patriotism extends to me liking my accent.

Also, I once used the username as "Bloo_kitteh" once because someone once drew me as a blue cat for some reason and I needed a username. Got a large amount of private messages, some with pictures of throbbing penii (the plural of penis, as it should be).

I dont know, other people would have to tell me that I guess.

Maybe they are surprised about how nice and witty I am, maybe they assume I am bad because of "Evil" and stupid because I didnt use the usual spelling of Jack -> "Jak"

My username takes about 20 seconds to explain. It's stupid really.

Though I believe names to be quite useless untill you're given a nick name or call sign, etc, etc.

The Maddest March Hare:
At the OP: Probably that I'm the craziest of everyone! (Which is true)
And that I am a sort of large rabbit (probably less true)

Pedantically at the title: What's in a name? 5 letters and a space.

Actually, just four letters. I asked "What's in a name?" not "What's in "a name?"" I don't think most people would count the article as a part of the subject.

To be even more pedantic, one could argue that, for it to be just four letters, the question would have to be without article (what's in name?), which would not make sense. Therefore, the question, 'What's in a name', refers to "a name" rather than "name".

Well my live name is AFreedomDuck, and people occasionally mention it online, in a positive or comical manner. Otherwise yeah, I don't really think there's much in a name.

Though I did just forget about RPGs. Then It's all about the name.

Mine was picked randomly when chosing an XBL name cause I wanted 'Weasel' in the name. I can't say I've had any abuse from it, people just laugh at it and think it's a sexual reference. Which I can see how people would think that but it's not, it's just a couple of random words stuck together.

EDIT: However sometimes it is amusing to let people think it's a sexual reference.
