They don't think much of my name. It's not great but it's not ridicule-worthy either.

Dude I loved your Freud avatar. My username is pretty straight forward, I'm a traceur.

I think that suits sonic pretty well.

Sega, if you're reading this, don't make an open world parkour-based Sonic game. That's... that's not going to be well received.

Can't be worse than that kart game.

Which one? Sonic Racing, or the upcoming one? Or that skateboard, nay, gravity board thing?

Edit: Crap, there's a whole series of them!

Edit redux: It gets worse.

The upcoming one.

Not at all. Don't worry about it. Actually, that was also another part of my problem with it.

Ha, people always thought you were an old man?

Random argument man:
People assume me and Incredible Bullshitting Man are the same person. (Thank you Iron Ninja).

But we are, we are. I´m always here, inside yo...Hey! Where´s Dylan?

I, I don´t know you anymore *runs away crying*.

I actually noticed this in Kingdom Of Loathing where the username "Woem" was already taken so I took "Woemwoem". After a long time it appeared that people were reading the name as "woe women" or as the backwards of "meow meow" and because apparently I'm a gentle person (a gentleman as it were) people that didn't check my profile assumed I was female, and until realizing this they tended to be a lot more friendly and helpful.

So for me the question is not so much "what's in a name" but "what's in a gender". And the answer is "a whole lot".

Mine is always met with one of the following:

Confusion.
Curiousity.
Ignorance. (As in, they ignore it.)

You mean programmed by society and stripped of individuality in the truest sense?

I don't know what people make from my user name, it's not really that interesting.
But my avatar might make people think I'm like a... kitten. All cute and fluffy and nice.

You are clearly unaffiliated with the genius that is the Mighty Boosh. Perhaps a spicy carrot and corriander will help?

My name makes people think of guine pigs (and i can't even spell them) because of how many people pernounce it. It's purnounced gini-p, not giny pig.

I imagine my name suggests that I might troll a lot, or that I expect not ot be listened to.

It's actually an old joke from my uni days.

People just seem to ignore me most of the time, but that happened under my old username anyway... So that might be because no one quite agrees with my opinion or is not totally against it... Or something...

That, and some people assumed I was an expert. Or that I was pretending to be an expert.

I've been considered over-opinionated on other sites just because my username has the word "anti" in it.

People just used to use the "you just and opinionated moron" when they didn't agree with what I said.

I only made the username for fun because I'm intollerant to wheat/gluten.

My username is just my own name backwards. I've been doing that ever since I first started setting up accounts online. As for my picture, none of my own would work, so I just went with my Xbox Live icon. That and because Geth are pretty cool-looking for a race of robo-mooks.

I didn't really think about my name, so I took the name of the character of my current story.

Works, but I with I hadn't.

That I'm a little bit sketchy maybe?

Honestly, I wouldn't know how to take mine. I use Sketchkov generally when I'm gaming.

I don't know what people think of my username...

What do you guys think of my username?

I always recognize people by avatar which is annoying when you guys change your avatars! (What's ironic is that I change mine almost every month)

Yes, I must admit it did make you seem quite expert-y. Very strange how an avatar can do that.
