Gone Gonzo Posts: 1290 Joined: 24 Apr 2008 | I would get the game. But I'm ignorant of all things nintendo. What does the DSi do that the DS Lite doesn't? |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1523 Joined: 30 Mar 2009 | Save your money for L4D2. It should be coming out soon. EDIT: By looking at your age, if you do buy L4D please for gods sake don't use your mic or spam vocal commands. We have enough annoying kids already. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3617 Joined: 7 Aug 2008 | Is it abd that on first glance of this title, I thought it said something about LSD? OT, L4D shouldn't be $60, and even if it is, I would probably go for it as the DSi is just a DS Lite with a camera. |

I will talk, but I detest mic spamming. So don't worry. |

And internet, MP3, downloadable content, voice recorder, etc.... |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 762 Joined: 15 Oct 2008 | Id get the L4D but dont ask me.... i hate what Nintendo has become... |

It's not mic spamming that I'm worried about. It's what we veterans of the great zombie apocalypse call "The Zoey Death Screan Bind." |
Beat Writer Posts: 223 Joined: 30 May 2008 | Well considering that neither the DSi nor DS Lite has a slot for GBA games, I would splurge and downgrade to the original DS if you can find one, make some money off of that, and then get L4D and some of the awesome old GBA titles. If you don't like that solution I would suggest L4D. The DSi isn't worth the price if you already have a working DS Lite. |

I've....never heard that term. You implying high-pitch voice? No, I don't have that either. I'm just the same as any of you. Maybe a slight voice difference, but nothing annoying. |

DS Lite has GBA. But I'm not a huge fan of GBA either. |

Don't kid yourself. <- Funny |
Beat Writer Posts: 158 Joined: 29 Jun 2009 | Don't get the DSi, I don't even get why it's considered much of an "improvement". |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1061 Joined: 16 Apr 2009 |
No, seriously. It's fine. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 4001 Joined: 26 Apr 2009 | Doesn't the Dsi not have a gba port? If it does, then go for it, but nowadays, my ds is mainly used for gba games. L4D is fun, and you can probably get a used copy at your gaming store (I use gamestop, so the used copy applies) for under $60. I'd get L4D overall. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1061 Joined: 16 Apr 2009 | Well, counting in all the votes, Left 4 Dead it is! |

Well, you might buy L4D and then it drops in price... so be careful. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1061 Joined: 16 Apr 2009 |
Honestly don't care. I'm quite sure $60 will be fine. Whatever money could have been left over from a possible price drop would not be enough for more than some gum. |

Yeah good point, you must watch out for it with big games like Rockband Band kit. |

Haha. Ha. Wow. That really sucks man. |

Read the thread my man, he said he WON'T wait. :P
Yeah, tears were shed to put it lightly :P. |

That happened when I broke Dark Cloud. Oh how I miss that great game. |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 662 Joined: 30 Jun 2009 | keep your DS lite, it doesn't make sense to sell it and then get another DS anyway, if you like L4D that much to be your second favorite game, get that. |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 903 Joined: 17 Dec 2008 |
Too much effort. Waiting would be much better though; good things come to people who wait. Incidentally, they did a study on kids where they were told they could have a marshmellow now, or wait 5 minutes and have two. The ones that waited generally ended up being more successful in life. Important lesson :P Ok, so this is a bit of a stretch considering we're talking about which games to buy but what the hell. EDIT: Read the first post now. Prefering L4D because it's a night sounds a bit weird especially since the original's problems are being solved by the sequel, like corner camping beeyatches. Ah well, your choice OP. |

You are the 37th person today I have seen use a stereotype =3 *gives you cookie* |
Infamous Scribbler Posts: 501 Joined: 24 May 2008 | I'd go with L4D, but then, I hate handhelds. |
On the Record Posts: 5166 Joined: 21 Aug 2008 | No need to sell that and get the DSi if there aren't enough titles utilising the tech yet. If you think you can get another $60 by the time L4D2 comes out, buy both. L4D will still have a strong fanbase and modding community, but it's up to you whether you buy the sequel or not. |
Anonymous Source Posts: 6 Joined: 19 Oct 2008 | I'd suggest getting L4D instead of the DSi. A DS Lite works just fine. Plus, L4D is $40 on Steam. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1419 Joined: 12 Sep 2008 |
Seriously. Nothing is more annoying then listening to a kid whose balls haven't dropped screeching over the mic. That shit is obnoxious and clears a game faster then a tking douchebag. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 451 Joined: 7 Mar 2008 | Go for the game. Wait for the DSi to come out in colors other than Generic Black and Baby Blue. |

He's fourteen for goodness sake, give him a break! People were mistaking me for a fully grown man over the phone when I was just 14, so don't just assume that everyone under 18 sounds like everyone under 12, because we don't. Besides, comments like that have no place in this thread. If you want to go and rant about it start a new one. As for this topic, go and get L4D, add me on steam, and we'll get some games in! :D |

I'm not usually the one to do one of these decision threads, and tried not to, but I'm having a tough time deciding. I'm going to be running into $60 dollars soon, and have the option to either:
-Buy Left 4 Dead for PC
-Sell my DS Lite, wait a few weeks until my birthday, grab some money from that, and buy a DSi
My friend says DSi, but he has it and is very one-sided with things. Plus, he doesn't like Left 4 Dead as much as me (it's like my second favorite game), so his answer is a bit unfair.
I also want to keep my DS lite so when I get a DSi, I can have two DS's and trade things between my games without needing some one else.
So my fellow Escapists, I ask you, which should I get?
EDIT: Let me say I do not want to wait for the sequel. While I thought L4D2 looked great and all, I like the original better because it's night setting is better, and I'm so much more used to the maps.
