I'm from Edmonton Canada, and as I've done before I personally apologize for Nickelback. I'm so sorry, guys.

As for Canadian Bands I like, I have nothing but love for Rush, as well as Joni Mitchell. Did you know that 'Blue' is one of Prince's favorite albums?

TheCameraman:

I'm adding another of my favorite bands from Norway.

Vamp:

Keep them coming, loads of great bands I've never ever heard of before here, and some great big ones as well. :)

That's pretty awesome.
Too bad I don't speak Norwegian...

Fiddler's Green.

A German band whose lineup funnily enough consists of Irish independent speedfolk. xD

TheCameraman:
I'ts amazing how much the music in different countries can differ from each other, even if it's within the same genre.
I'm from Norway, I like to check out new music, and I would love to see (or hear) some bands from other parts of the world.
Also, if they sing in their native language, that's just great. ;)

I'll start it off with one of my favorite norwegian bands:

Kaizers Orchestra, a band which many people consider to be one of the best live bands in Norway.

Apologies if this topic has been done before, but I couldn't find anything like it when I searched.

Edit: Fixed the tags.

i dont like any bands from where i live

Canada... I can't think of anything. T-T

I could think of plenty of British bands though. Muse, Electric Light Orchestra, Coldplay... Dammit!

Well now, the first group I thought of was Machinae Supremacy, but I imagine the point would be a bit lost since they sing in English. I'll just link both them and Movitz!

Movitz!
This group has apparently gotten reasonably known in the States. I suppose they like the sound. Very understandable if you ask me.

Machinae Supremacy
These guys from Luleå use the SID chip of the Commodore 64 to create some of their sound, which has created what they call SID Metal. Many of their songs and lyrics are inspired by video game music and piracy.

These are two of the groups I would be proud of as a Swede. More include Opeth and In Flames. We're good at metal.
