After 10 trials of that, my results were 54, 53, 47, 50, 48, 45, 47, 48, 50, and 54.
For the first and last couple , I spoke what I was typing out loud, or under my breath.
That gives me an average of 49.6 WPM.
Typically what messes me up are long words, and whenever I have to write something with an apostrophe, like "won't", I often first type " wont' " and then correct it by deleting the last two characters and retyping.

As far as I remember I can type something like 50ishwpm so lets just say 50wpm for the sake of ease. Which is fairly good but it isn't great I could be faster but I'm not :(.

I am able to type reasonably quickly, because I use Firefox and use that to clear up the large amount of spelling mistakes! That and I played a text-based MMO for 4 years...

I'm a fairly quick typer. It's rare for me to find someone who can type faster but I'm also not a perfect typer. I don't use my little fingers (other than left for shift, ctrl) and I only really use my third fingers for keys right on the ends.

It doesn't matter to me how fast I type, but I'd like to think I'm pretty speedy at it.

i can type relatively fast, considering i type one handedly. i have to look at the keyboard though, but i do type far faster then most people would expect me to.

I type pretty damn quick (especially when taking dictation), though I haven't been able to test my exact speed.

All I know is "fast enough that I don't have to use chatspeak when playing an MMO."

I think personally that I type quite well, but I am not bragging.

The question isnt how fast can i type but how fast can i type and it still be legible. For example...

I can type a hundred words a minute.....In my own language.

I can get maybe 60-80 wpm if I'm making it up as I go along, but that's with perfect accuracy.
It halves when I have to dictate (I think that's the word, right?) something that's written in front of me.

If I'm being timed, it puts pressure on me, so I can't go anywhere near my top speed.

I can kinda touch type, but I don't use all of my fingers; generally just the index and middle of both hands, with the thumb for spacebar.

'Course, I'm only 14, so I have a ways to go yet...

I type a lot of essays in school so to be a talented writer one must learn to type really fast. I can also talk really fast (like Yahtzee). I always gets A's on my papers and turn them in early

For some reason if I count to myself when typing it really throws me off so unknown for time spent.

And... I just did some test which says I can type "343 characters per minute", not to shabby.

According to one of those tests above, 40 words per minute.

At one time I managed to type 134 words a minute. It was in a game where you had to type out huge movie quotes faster than someone and I knew the person I was racing. Since then I've considered myself a pretty good typist even though I average about 23 words slower than my best.

My job involves typing all day, so im pretty nippy. That said, it's mostly numbers I do at work.... my letter typing could do with work I guess....

I don''t type super fast but that's probably due to the fact that i only type with 4 fingers. btw this took my about 30 seconds to type and tell the time on it.

I'm going to type this paragraph in one minute to see how fast I can type. I hope I type rather a lot in this minute otherwise I might look quite silly, and I'd rather not make a fool of myself, especially to the Escapist Community because I hold a great deal of respect for most of the members.
