I don't get EMA. It annoyed me because my dad lost his job last year, though he's got a new one now. I could have had EMA during the time he was out of work, but by that point I was at university. Ah well. At least I get extra student grant money this year :)

We've got something similar in Holland, basically extra cash untop the base amount you get for from the government already. And yes if I would go to college again I would indeed get that, about 30 euro's extra. Which would translate to about...26 pounds.

I get £30.
I don't really need EMA as an incentive to go to school, but my mum's income sucks.

^Same, except my mum's just to lazy to work, well, who am I to complain? I'll never turn down free money.

Why the hell is this a post worthy of a ban?

OT: No, I'm no longer learning.

DAMN YOU, SPOON. I FELL FOR IT!!

Gwahaha.

Oh and yeah I get jack. Yay?

My thoughts..ummm Yeah it's okay? Probably be a whole lot better if those who got it saved it but...hell what do I know.

I get £20 which isn't enough. We get a bonus every January and July but I didn't get my July because I took two days off for my uncle's funeral, so they gave me £20 to last me 6 weeks instead.
It goes solely on punctuality, not grades. Some little bastards in my year who don't even try but are never late get it, but not me who gets good grades and never causes trouble who has trouble sleeping so I'm usually late >_>

I don't get it. But no way do my parents have enough money to give me £30 a week.

I used to get £20, but then my dad got a raise so it went to £10.

I'm gutted about the bonuses though, when I signed the thingy to recieve it, I was in the knowledge that I'd recieve 3 bonuses for that year. I got 2, and they changed it so we only get 2.

I wasn't happy.

*Holds up hands, causing the amazed and now flabbergasted ordinance to begin lowering their applauds and screams of approval*
When you're as good as me, there's really no point in being modest, you're robbing the people of the ability, no, wait, the privilege of seeing how good one really is.

So anyway, that aside, it is with great pride that I accept this award, presented to me by the United Nations, the combined governments of world, the European Union, the Queen of Great Britain, the Emperor of Japan, and various other global institutions ranging from the Catholic church to the Doctors without Borders charity that regretfully I have not the time nor the vocal stamina to list.
*The ordinance bursts into laughter*
For curing world hunger, ending the energy crisis, and bring an end to human suffering in general. To think, it all began with that one post on The Escapist.

It seems to me the people that don't get it are bitter because people that need the money receive it. I earn £30 a week, and I'm happy with the system. That money supports a variety of different educational needs from bus fare to food. Sure some may abuse the system, but it also seems that (with many things, such as the prison system - another thing I see some incredibly ignorant posts on) many who have posted do not understand the system itself.

The EMA itself is given to support the recipients - where I go in order to receive it you must abide to a stricter set of rules than the majority, it is not (as some have suggested) a bribe to go to higher education. Fact is I wouldn't have been able to attend the college I do if it were not for the EMA. I would have run out of money quickly and I am sure my family would not have been able to support me in the long-run.

*Pointless stuff*

What on earth does this have to do with the EMA?

Yes, £30 because I'm poor. Really fucking poor. My mum is possibly the only person on this street who works, and she gets quite a bit less than £20K a year, but we're just better off than if she weren't working.

I'm trying to get a part-time job, but nowhere will take me :(
