Yeah it's as simple as that. Since the population of the escapist is largely male, I've decided to ask for another perspective.

I'm getting my first tatt tomorrow ;D

Feel free to go sick.

HAha so I've got it done now. You shall have to ignore my face. I'm doing my 'focusing' face. Taking pictures is hard D=

It's still red and bleeding a little, but I'm very happy with the results =D It also didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it was going to! I was bracing myself like NGGGGGGGGGGGGH but then it just felt a little bit annoying and I watched 2 episodes of American dad while she did it. Pretty sweet =D

Eh... I prefer clean skin, but as long as they're not too "in-your-face", like a massive dragon across your upper back then I guess they're okay. Not a deal-breaker but not something I'd seek out.

I like them if they're smallish, excessive tattoos, I think, look horrible on anyone.

Just remember that if you get one on your lower back, anyone who sees it will automatically imagine you in a porn film.

I don't like tattoos at all really, but my opinion is, as long as it is subtle and doesn't take up half an arm, go ahead. This goes for both males and females in my view.

My mum has a tattoo of a daisy-chain going around her ankle and it looks okay. I would never dream of getting one myself though.

So yeah, I'm fine with them if you're not like, totally inked up.

A tattoo on a girl is fine by me, unless it breaks one of my rules of tattoos, such as "trying too hard". A simple tattoo can be very cool, one that is just desperately trying to be cool is not and will never be.

Usually, they just add something more to look at ;)

If it's that, then, well, don't be suprised if most men run away from you. I'm gonna be different now and say that it can take up as much space as it likes, just as long as it doesn't take up ALL of the space in the zone it lives... Which isn't the best wording in the world, so I'm just gonna hope you understand what I mean. It can go from head to toe, and it's no problem as long as it's only half a centimetre in width or so.

I'm an easy going guy. I don't mind clean skin or light tattooing by any means, but I also like women who really go all out with tattoos, with entire sections of the body covered in them. It's almost like you're f***ing another species or a living painting!

I think it's fine. Sexually it's neither here nor there, I've been with girls both with tatts and without and it's not something I really notice much. What I haven't been with though is a girl who's completely COVERED in tatts and yeah maybe that could be a little distracting, if nothing else I'd like to see more pink than ink... but I have no problem with it really. A really cool girl could have any number of tatts and if I liked the girl I wouldn't care either way about the tatts really. It's not a deal-breaker.

My general opinion is /shrug... it's their body.

From a personal aesthetics opinion, I would be a little put off by large, offensive, or poorly placed tattoos.

I don't mind tattoos on women, so long as they are tasteful.
Sorry, the barbed-wire ring around your arm doesn't look hot, lady.

And I hate 'tramp stamps'. You know, the tattoos on the small on one's back?
Awful. I've never seen that looks good. Ever.

But, beyond that, then sure, why not.
It's like a hair style...except it never leaves without painful surgery.

Generally not preferred, but heck, I won't reject anyone with a tat unless it covers their face, back or chest completely I guess.

A tattoos are ugly.

By the time you're 45 it will just look like some horrific barbiturate abuse induced skin lesion. Makes even the most beatiful person look ugly, what kind of person needs to augment their personality with inked scars anyway?

Yessss! I love love love simple tattoos! The one I'm getting is just plain black, simple lines. I think it'll look alright coz my skin is naturally very pale and the black should look nice =D

I like tattoos on girls, but usually only a few.

there have been girls with full sleeves i have been attracted too, but it happens far less often for me. (ie full sleeves usually turn me off more than attract me)

At least someone shares my opinion.

Gezz tattoos where a fad when I was a teenager. Everyone ran out and got a stupid one. Maybe all the 26-30 year old guys running around with barbwire tat around their bicep is what turned people off from the idea, but with modern inks and a talented artist tattoos can look amazing, and stay looking amazing for a lifetime.

Se my comment about modern inks. They don't blur into nothingness anymore like the tattoos you see on 50 year old ex-bikers.

As far as what kind of person "needs to augment their personality with inked scars anyway?" Well some do, I mean scarification has a small following. Me I just have a bunch of tattoos.

Depends where and what it is. Small tatoos aren't really much of an issue, but please keep your tatty bojangles clean. If I could feasibly be placing my lips on it during an intimate moment, I don't want a tatoo there: Necks, face, aforementioned jubblies, rear and inner things should all be kept as clean as possible.

I prefer clear skin anyway, I don't mind smaller tattoos but the HUGE ones like:

this are a definite no-no.

Well, that's my opinion on the matter anyway.

Simple-yet-badass tattoos look really sexy on girls and really cool on blokes.
Sickly-sweet (bunnies, butterflies etc) or chav (pointless swaring, racist, sports related etc) look daft on either gender.
You need very tight, supple skin to pull off really big ones well (such as a fully back-covering dragon).

And the difference between a girl getting a tattoo and a boy getting a tatto is?

It's like putting a bumper sticker on a nice car - you might like what it says, but it's just going to make the car look tacky.

Also, this is a good rule of thumb to follow (wish I remembered where I heard it): think about the things you drew when you were a kid, the stuff you liked. Would you want those drawings tattooed all over your body? No? Then what makes you think they in twenty years you're still going to like a tattoo you get now?

Apparently girls are still supposed to be dainty-borderline-virginally prudish.
*shrug* 's wot I've gathered, anyway.

10 years on, I still love the ones I got, well...ten years ago. o_O

I find tattoos in general disgusting but I see no problem with women getting tattoos, if she wants to she should have the right and while I still believe in being a gentleman and all there is no denying that abandoning the traditional image of womanhood and wearing tattoos is a new retro form bold defiance against societies perception of women and therefore it is in itself a modern day form of the women's lib and since I consider myself pro feminist I say let it ride.

Some people look good with them, some don't, I'd take it on a case by case basis. It can be great if there's a really nice down to earth girl that just happens to have some, like it can be a nice surprise. Alternatively, it would be good if bad-ass chicks didn't have so many of them.

In 100% honesty?

It depends if they can pull them off or not. I'd say you could, looking.

For God's sake, how hard is it to just go, "*OP question* of/on/with the opposite sex"?
I mean, its not that offensive, but it does get on my nerves. And because it could be considered offensive. Such things do, actually, get under my skin. If someone said something like that to me in person, I'd give them a piece of my mind. That, or slap them.
I know no offense was intended, so I'm not mad at you, I'm just a little annoyed now.

Back to answering the OP: I don't judge people badly based on their having tattoos, but I rarely see one that I actually think improved the person's image.
I didn't mind the tattoo a student from my class got, though. Its a white tattoo of, "O homo fugit" on their forearm.

I'm cool with it.

As long as it means something to the girl, it can be as garish as she wants it.

My affectio nwill never flag for someting like that.
