x=6

but it can also equal 1 2 4 35 252 62 241 5426 73 33 5255 and every number you can think of

MATH IS A LIE

that depends how you cut it....like a cake

So, what we can assume from this mathematic equation is:

Math = Cake = Lie.

therefore, Math = Lie. But ALSO Cake = Lie...

THEY MUST BE LEAGUE WITH ONE ANOTHER! D:

OT, religious studies in my old class had a lot of bullcrap in it... twas a catholic school, so they taught christian beliefs as fact. *sigh*... it wasn't all rubbish though, we also had a lot of philosophical debates based around christian theories which were pretty cool.

I regretted going to a christian school because whenever someone brought up evloution the teacher went into a rant about god being real and other stuff.

Communism is a totalitarian regime with a command economy, and has been shown not to work by the former USSR. This in a college class on government.

I have heard this multiple times. I never ceases to amaze me when people comapre communism to fascism. They are completely opposite.

another fun fact, that's the exact definition (more or less) printed in my text book for the class. all I can hope for is that it doesn't come up in my final because I am not saying the above.

I was spinning a globe during free time in second grade, looking at all the continents, when I suddenly realized that Africa and South America would fit together almost perfectly. It made me think about what my dad had said about earthquakes, so I went to my teacher and explained my theory: that once upon a time, the continents had all been together once, but earthquakes had broken them apart over time.

She said, "No, of course not," like it was ridiculous. Then she went on to say that the world had always been just the way it was, and would never change.

What the hell?

Yeah, that was Pangeaea or whatever.
Your teacher said that? Holy shit, the education system really is screwed.

One said that Einstein has autism, my English teacher said that English was the most spoken language in the world. She also said that Yen is the Chinese currency (It's the Japanese one, but what do they use in China? Or was she right?)

The goddamn "Tongue map"

I knew it was bull as my entire tongue could taste sweetness.

Then only a year ago or so they realised what dip-shits they were and corrected the mistake.

Ooh, I know a friend in America who was actually taught that the Americans won Vietnam.
And then their History Teacher started talking about how propaganda was thankfully ousted from the American Education System, literally five minutes after saying that.

Frankly, they are pulling it out of their asses.

Renminbi is the chinese currency. The units for the Renminbi are the Yuan, Jiao and Fen.

That Germans started World War One.

The Germans didn't start the war, they just got the blame because they lost it.

I remember being told all about how Hitler used to be a Jew.
Blissful days of ignorance.

On an unrelated topic, I remember being thought exclusively Christianity in a class called Religious Studies. I also had to keep my mouth shut for my entire education about my personal (my parents are Christian, and any man who calls me out on that will be beheaded and fed to crocodiles. Then I will burn the crocodiles prior to digestion.) religious views, as in atheism, (as in keeping-my-gob-shut-and-not-shoving-it-down-everyone's-throats atheism, AHEM other atheists.) which almost ate me from the inside out. I survived it though.
Anyway, back to teh liez. Here's one:

Communism is fascism and can never ever work.
Pfffffffffft, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Also, we were taught that Ernesto Guevara was evil because he was a communist, and never MIND his acts of heroism.

My Bio 11 teacher is finally useful for once. Here are some of the things she has told us:

*The reason chlorophyll is green is because it absorbs green light and reflects all the other colours back.
*H2O is a very reactive, unstable compound.
*There is no difference between the scientific word "theory" and the common useage of the word "theory."
*Paying attention to her slides about the cell parts is more productive than doing the physics homework that I -haven't- been learning about for three years straight.
*ATP is the chemical formula for adenosine triphosphate, because there's definately an element 'A' and 'T'...
*When doing a lab write-up, there should NOT be a part of your observations called "What should have happened." If the expermient didn't yeild the results you were expecting, you WRITE THAT. (As a side note, the fact that she didn't do the lab properly, and so we disproved that there is such a thing as a hypotonic solution is bad in and of itself.)

Oh, and my friend's science 10 teacher told him that the moon is a star and that men have eggs. He still won't admit he's wrong.

Just Joe:

Oh, and I just remembered this:
What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
I learned that Washington never told a lie.
I learned that soldiers seldom die.
I learned that everybody's free.
And that's what the teacher said to me.
That's what I learned in school today.
That's what I learned in school.

What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
I learned that policemen are my friends.
I learned that justice never ends.
I learned that murderers die for their crimes.
Even if we make a mistake sometimes.
That's what I learned in school today.
That's what I learned in school.

What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
I learned our government must be strong.
It's always right and never wrong.
Our leaders are the finest men.
And we elect them again and again.
That's what I learned in school today.
That's what I learned in school.

What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
What did you learn in school today,
Dear little boy of mine?
I learned that war is not so bad.
I learned of the great ones we have had.
We fought in Germany and in France.
And some day I might get my chance.
That's what I learned in school today.
That's what I learned in school.

That is the biggest load of bullshit and fucking lies and proganda I have ever heard.
Thank you, my parents, for never moving to America and forcing me to sing lies.
I should point out everything wrong with that song. As in EVERY FUCKING LINE is untrue.

OK, so i go to a catholic school, its better than most i've been told, because creationism isn't taught here and religion classes are only mandatory for freshmen (ethics and relationships class) and the catholic students. I can't really think of a major untruth we were taught here, we learned about how the archduke is dead, germs killed more native americans than guns, the earth is round, and that the hebrew numerological system was flawed by nature of the fact that it lacked a placeholder.

I know some of the public schools near hear are pretty inconsistent, one student told me that he was taught to understand that organizations like PETA are the true hero's in modern society and all war is an evil invention of man that has never solved anything.

Polyurethane. Same stuff they use for O.R. gloves for the latex-allergic.

Once upon a time I had a sub in my government/economics class who told me that everything I heard on TV was a liberal conspiracy and that only the Republicans could salvage the economy (this was in the last days of the Clinton era, the biggest economic boom in American history).

that being a nice person always pays off in the end.... yea, right.

define "nice person"
:(

The way I was told to behave in the school I went to as a child was to be passive and turn the other cheek when ever possible. If you do this then in the end things will work out better for you. no matter what any one does to you never retaliate, they will get whats coming to them.

This extreme form of pacifism is what was taught to me from a very early age. Its a stupid school of logic.

Yeah, the idea is to create a passive person who doesn't grow up to be a system-bucker. I've observed the same kind of antiphilosophy more than once, when a teacher complained that a student was excelling too much relative to his/her classmates. Bollocks

But keep it to yourself, you fuck.
I didn't wake up to listen to you preach your religion.

It's fine when you do it to people who came to a place where they specifically wanted to hear it.
But when you're preaching at someone who is literally incapable of leaving and who is there under false pretenses, it makes me want to hurt you.

Emphasis everywhere you guys.

You have my apologies on behalf of Christians everywhere. Too bad 99%+ are deeply lost or complete fucktards.

I'm gonna put you in the fucktards catagory just for using the word fucktard. fucktard.

Nuclear energy IS safe, just not the level we have achieved yet, if we could obtain complete nuclear fission, we would be left with non-radioactive isotopes of elements, extracting all possible energy from actinides and lanthanides,

I got the gist that Ares was the god of war, but he represented the brutality and barbarity of it. He wasn't a god you directly worshiped (except truly war obessed people like Spartans), he was one you feared.

Athena being patron of Athens, the big city for Greek enlightment was the goddess of wisdom, but she was a warrior goddess representing the disciplined nature of war, tactics etc.

This is also the impression i have.

Especially if they get the LGC working the way they want, and become able to fuck with atoms, then we could get rid of the waste by blasting protons off of it. "LOLOLOLOL BLACK HOLE"

As for this thread I was raised in an American school in a small, conservative town, so I believe I can safely say: Just about everything that wasn't math. And even then, I was taught a lot of lies to keep things simple (and, ironically, close off entire subjects from being learned on their own). I.E. Can't divide by zero, etc. etc.

But, I honestly can't blame them for half of the lies they taught me. My fellow students were dumb as shit, and I would probably lie to them, too, just to shut the fuckers up.

I would also just like to say that every school system lies. North Korea's schooling, for example, can be pretty much summed up as "It's America's fault."

I can't believe no one's said this:

"Marijuana is a gateway drug."

"Christopher Columbus was a good Christian man."

"Martin Luther King was killed because of racism."

The first serves as a mechanism for shutting down the brain, b/c there is no way to properly demonize this plant, which in the early half of last century was more commonly used as parchment than paper, and has many medicinal properties (just ask Bayer Aspirin, who make a delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol inhaler).

Columbus' diary extols the glorious experience of raping an indian child before smashing her head on a rock.

No one ever ever ever speaks about what MLK did with the last 2 years of his life, even though it is well documented. He was working to raise a global, unarmed, nonviolent "army" to stop US/Western imperialism. He even said in several of his speeches that America was "in danger of becoming a tyrant."

AAAAh, but the whole purpose of a nuclear reactor is to take the alpha, beta, gamma, and less common radioactive particles and use them to spin a magnet around a wire, if the reactor was perfected, the radiation escaping from it would be trivial compared to sunlight
