My name is a evolved version of a name i actually saw on some mtv ad. ''what's your gang name i think it was.. and all of the sudden Master Tormentor popped up. Tormentor was kinda lame so i changed it into Corruptor =)
So Master Corruptor... Has a nice ring to it, some grunt and it suits my avatar (that's used everywhere i am registered)

Um, oops, I usually use THEREOFONE because tscook is already taken. Without thinking about it, I posted the origin of that instead of tscook. Which is my first initial, middle initial, last name.

Handsome Jack was an NPC I ran in a privateering themed Dungeons and Dragons game. The NPC was so loved by the players that he went from being just a one off character, as I had intended, to being the iconical character of the setting. It kinda took a life of it's own from there. I use it as my use name here because he was a irresponsible, reckless free spirit...which is the perfect mindset for playing games. Games are an escapist behavior (not intending to plug), why not really get into the part.

Heart of Darkness:
Mine's the title of a novella by Joseph Conrad. Good book, but it's incredibly dry to read.

I actually find it pretty flowery myself haha. Also Apocalypse Now is awesome, and so is the side-scroller Heart of Darkness - so you're a winner in my book!

Mine comes from a Luis Royo painting called "Leaves of Acacia". I was looking for a good troll-like name for my first MMO character in Dark Age of Camelot, who was a Troll Warrior. The character in the Royo painting looks very similar to DAoC trolls, thus the name Acacian Leaves.

First name - Tom
Last name - Cross
The middle bits? They just make me sound like a knight or summat, or just some christian fanatic. Oh good times have come from the misunderstandings.

Recall to your minds the Infinite Monkey Theorem that suggests that if you put an infinite amount of monkeys in a room with type writers, one of them will eventually write the script to Hamlet.

Mine was a failure, but one of them came up with my username.

A graphic novel by Daniel Clowes, writer of Ghost World (among others) that closely mirrors my own life* and I happen to share my first name with.

*Not really.

I use some different usernames which i usually derive from other words spelled backwards and then changed a little.

for example my current username: Thnelis is simply silent spelled backwards with an added h for extra coolness :-)

There's also Tsylak which I deriverd from the word apocalyps (leave out apo, spell backwards, switch c for k and change sp into ts)

And one of my personal favorites Senq'rath (or just Senqrath not all usernames allow apostrophes): It's basically darkness spelled backwards with some changed letters.
That last one sounds kinda star-wars-y doesn't it, I like it :-D

In year 9 in graphics I had a picture of a mountain range and turned it upside down, coining the phrase Inverse Skies in the process. I've used it ever since.

I came up with my online name when my LAN group decided we all needed code names for Battlefield 1942. The other guys made a huge list of possible names and picked from it, I just made mine there on the spot. I've always liked the Latin prefix "meta" so I took that and stuck cree on the end for no apparent reason. I have used this name for virtually everything I've done online.

You're friend was mistaken, it's from Final fantasy 9. No worries though, It's still spelled differently.

Well my friends MySpace name was Thunderhorse, after the song by Dethklok, and some kids at my school would joke about it with him by going up to him and screaming "THUNDERHORSE!! NEIIGGHHH!" in his face and my friend got sick of it so he changed his MySpace name. Soon after I decided to change my name to Thunderhorse to see what they would do but they never did anything. Then when I finally decided to join The Escapist, Thunderhorse was the only name I could think of.

Erm... I just really like cats. Now that I think about it, I should have really added a hyphen between that and my name...

To be honest it just came to me in a flash. 13 is my lucky number, and some people, for whatever reason, have an aversion to 13. Therefore FEAR thenumberthirteen!

It is the name of the coolest character in all of the A Song of Ice and Fire series.
He was one of the Faceless, assassins so good that they can change their face if they want to. He was so badass he killed a man by his own dog. A dog the hit had owned and cared for since it was just a puppy.
And I like the weirdness of the name.

Acrisius was some guy in ancient Greece or something. He was a king who heard a prophecy that his daughter would have a son, and that this soon would kill him. To prevent this, he locked his daughter in a tower or something, but some dude (who may or may not have been her uncle), impregnated her anyway. In response, Acrisius locked his daughter in a chest and threw the chest into the sea.

Poseidon, the god of the sea or wtf his name is, took pity on this bitch and made sure that she survived. She washed ashore in some kingdom neighboring her fathers, had her baby son, and spent lived there. 18 years later, this bastard boy went to his grandfathers kingdom to celebrate some cool occasion. One of the events were discus-throwing, which he incidentally happened to be very good at, so he decided to take a shot at it. The "shot" ended up hitting his grandfather in the head, causing is unfortunate demise.

Note that this is just from memory, you can read the thing on Wikipedia.

I work nights, my gf works days, I tend to not get a lot of sleep, hence: Nemu, a bastardization of the Japanese word for "sleepy".

It should read Nemui, but I typically use various sleepy-type names (Nemunemu, Nemutai, et al).

bruno the pig is the title of a bonus track by the heavy metal band Children Of Bodom. It's actually just a jazz thing done by the keyboardist, and i liked it. And figured it would work quite well as a username. It's quite bewildering to most people lol :P

Used this name when I joined my first online game, like 9 years ago.
Wanted to be called Max and Mad just fit on it.
NOT NAMED AFTER THE MOVIE. Seriously, I've never seen it.
Tried 3 other variations hence the "20"

You've never seen Mad Max? Wow, you're missing out.

Mine is from a song called "The Oscillator's Hum" by a fairly unknown band called Frog Eyes. I've used it for a few years now, so I can't actually remember why I chose it.
