Plazmatic:
snip

Not quite sure how to react to that, however, as you have called me a prick, allow me to do this:

Grandparent: a parent of your father or mother

You have a maximum of four grandparents.

Unfortunately, both of my maternal grandparents passed on a few years ago.

They were such a pair:

-My grandmother used to tell me stories about Cuba while she cooked. To this day, the smell of black beans cooking will make me remember those lazy days where I would hang around their house, listening to her.

-My grandfather was a tough old bastard, worked until his late 80's (as a farmer in Cuba, and as a car mechanic when he escaped to the U.S.). My grandfather had a deep respect for cars and frequently spent his days post-retirement wandering our neighborhood trying to fix other people's cars. He used to spend some weekends teaching these young punks nearby how to tune their rides. It was weird image: a bunch of street thugs, huddled around a little old man, wincing every time he raised his voice, but listening intently to his every word.

I've got my grandma on the maternal side, and my grandpa on the paternal side. My grandpa on the maternal side died about 20 years before I was born, and the grandma on the paternal side died when I was 2.

As for the living grandparents, my grandpa was a farmer and is the stereotypical grumpy old, "Oh back in my day we didn't have these fancy doohickies" but he's still a lot of fun to hang around with.

My grandma is also the stereotypical loving old women who bakes cookies all the time. She's almost 90 now and is starting to get really forgetful, which is a real shame.

Overall though I'm very close to my grandparents and I wouldn't have it any other way.

My grandparents (all of them) are both thankfully alive. I don't know their ages though.

Both my paternal grandparents passed away when I was like 5 - apperantly I had a really good relation with them but I really can't remember anything about them. My maternal grandmother passed away a couple of years ago, but seeing as I was never too close with her I wasn't too fussed. My maternal grandfather is still alive, but I'm on the same bench as I was with his wife; it's "alright" to see him once in a while, but to be honest he mostly annoys me whenever he comes over (one reason for this is that he can't pee straight anymore and refuses to sit down).

Grandpa on my mom's side (the awesome side) and my Grandma on my Dad's side (the lame side...).

I love my grandpa a ton, mainly because he used to be a real Hooligan when he was younger. Got into a lot of bar fights. Yeah, he is pretty much the only one of his friends to have lived this long, mainly because he realized smoking couldn't be good for you.

My grandma sucks. She doesn't drive, always makes excuses not to see people, is very self centered, and doesn't go out of her way for anyone. Just...I won't have much to say at her funeral is all. Didn't have much to say at my dad's dad's either I suppose.

I have two grandparents left. My grandpa on my fathers side is about eighty years old and my grandmother on my mothers side is one-hundred and four. Though she has gotten sick recently, so I doubt that she'll make it to one-hundred and five. I've never met her, which is kind of depressing, but hopefully I will this Christmas. :]

All four which is pretty amazing seeing as I'm 22, (the youngest of the maternal set of grandkids and the sixth youngest of the paternal set.)

One maternal, one paternal. Of opposite sex.

Cue hilarious The Simpsons-style romance episode!

My paternal grandpa passed away last year, about a week after his 93rd birthday. He contracted Ehrlichiosis from a tick about a year prior to that, and never quite recovered.

My maternal grandpa is not in good shape. He's immobile, can't be touched due to the pain it causes him, and his mind is another world most of the time. But he's still here (or in Chile, more accurately) and I'll be seeing him just after Christmas.

So that leaves my grandmas, both of which are in good health, though my paternal grandma is definitely very lonely these days.

This thread is making me sad. :(

Just 1 left. He is 88 and still going strong. He's has a ritual of Bob Evans and 2 glasses of wine every day. For the past 20 years its been doing him well as his health has never been better. Sure he has the occasional hip problem but inside he's doing fine.I expect him to live well into his 90's...I hope. Of course his health doesn't stop his rants that "AT MY AGE I SHOULD BE DEAD!" Its funny because its like he's taunting the grim reaper.

Just One.

Although with all those options I don't get why you didn't have the "One maternal" and "One paternal" options included. Or just 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4.

I still have all 4 of my grandparents left. Great-grandparents is another story. Both my paternal and maternal great-grandmothers are left. Apparently my family is fairly resilient.

None left here. :<
My paternal grandparent passed away even before my older brother was born. I only "know" him by some storys I hear.
Now only the memories remains. Happy memories, at least.

All of my natural grandparents are dead, but my paternal step-grandmother is still alive. She's doing really amazing for someone who's almost 96. I wouldn't be surprised if she reached triple digits.
