And I'm devastated. We've had this dog for about 2 years, and they were a very good 2 years. But I'm responsible for her death, and I can't help but feel regret and devastation. I mean it was dark (around 10 pm here) and she's a small black dachshund (who also has a spinal condition where she doesn't have full control over her back end)so it was really hard to notice her coming up my driveway. Because there is a hill that winds up to our house, I have a really hard time seeing whats around the hill. So when I turned up the road I didn't see her and eventually I felt a slight bump. I knew immediately something was up, because when I was calling for my other dog (once I parked my car to see what was up) she would just stay in that one spot. So I go and investigate and discover my little black dachshund laying there.

I know I'll be over it soon, but what do I do about my other dog? I just killed her sister and she's still crying for her. It's a rather depressing scene here, and right now I really don't feel so good :(. I don't normally post this kind of thing on forums, but myspace is crap, and theres no one on MSN, so I just felt I had to let it out somewhere.

Didn't I make a thread about this... In fact, wasn't that like... my first thread?

But whatever.

Don't worry, I understand how that feels. I had a similar incident happen with one of my dogs, I won't go into details.... As for the other dog, animals have a way of moving on.... yes you will notice changes in behaviour, but try not to let it eat at you. The fact that you are upset shows that you didn't mean to, and sometimes accidents happen. Hope everything turns out ok.

My sister accidently backed in to our dog we had for close to 10 years and she broke down right there... She wished i was the one who hit the dog...

okay im starting to get real sad now. That was a really good dog she was here for so long that when she was gone our yard seemed empty for the longest time... Im starting to cry now...

She's been gone nearly a year now.

I'm sorry that it happened, but unfortunately it did, and you can't be sad about it forever. Instead focus on having the best time with the other dog, and comfort it as it lost it's sister

I have a daschund, and now I'm sad. I'm going to cuddle him now. But do try to remember it was an accident and don't be too hard on yourself.

Sorry for you dude. It sucks to lose a pet, whatever the reasons were. As for your other dog, I guess the only thing to do is try to give her lots of attention and love while you both heal.

The funny thing is I think I remember reading it. There was a thread like a week or two ago with someone saying they lost their dog, not sure if it was you though. Yea maybe the fall just isn't the best season for pet owners.

It may be a bit soon, but have you considered getting another dog? I originally had 2 dogs, 1 died. The other was all quiet for awhile so we got another one for him. Now he's one happy bastard. Then I took in a stray who was the same breed.
The more dogs for your one the better.

Even better a wombat. Those things are tanks, actually the wombat would fair off better then the car if you ran into one.

I am really sorry to hear that. it really must be a terrible feeling. I think you should just dedicate as much time as you can trying to comfort yourself, and your other dog. I had 2 dogs, and when the one passed, the other got really depressed and wouldn't eat. She was soon gone too, and i always felt i couldve done more.

really sorry tho, seriously
