For what reason I'll never know, 'The Unforgettable Fire' by U2. I don't know what the songs about (some say it's about love, others say the Hiroshima bomb), and what's worse I don't know what feeling I'm supposed to be having when I hear it. What I mean is, most songs you can tell if they're supposed to provoke happiness, sadness, aggression, anger, pride, etc, but this one I just can't figure it out. All I know is, when I hear this song, I have to stop what I'm doing and pay 100% attention to it. So no listening to it when I'm on my motorbike. Here's a vid of it. |

Actually, Birdhouse In Your Soul, for me. It's been stuck in my head for days. |

As for songs that invoke memories and nostalgia, Pokemon has some (why yes, Pokemon played quite a role in my childhood). Also, in addition to being awesome, Joint from Shakugan No Shana tapped into some abstract feeling of childhood fantasy when I first heard it. I don't know why, however. |

Forgot When i'm gone, though it's more of a personal song, so for me it doesn't have the raw energy of "till i collapse, heck that song is teh most motivating thing i've ever heard. Just the beat itself is enough to make you take whatever you're doing all the way. I hear it on repeat when i work out lol. About the drugs, can't really tell u, never tried real drugs... weed just makes you tired after a while |

If they sound familiar they sang "Late Goodbye" (another great song) for the ending of Max Payne 2. Heres the song played in a fan made Half Life 2 video. Its done rather well. |

His songs are all so beautiful, but in particular I like "The Natural Whirled", "Mayfly", and "Nocturne". Every time one of his songs comes up on Pandora I just stop whatever I'm doing and stare off into space. The three I mentioned have all brought tears to my eyes before. Everyone should definitely check his music out. |
