The only celebrities I really like who are currently alive are Mr. T, Samuel L. Jackson, Will Smith, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert.
Spend a day (and night?) with Pamela Anderson? Hells yea! I mean, after that all I would need is a Godzilla and a nuclear missle and step one of my 3 part plan fir world domination would be complete!
I'd meet the male celeb.
Eh, I would not mind talking with Serj Tankien
I don't care about celebrities, but I'd rather spend time with a lady than a dude.
I appear to fit into the generalisation. I'm a bloke and the majority (if not all...) of my favorite celebs are male. Stephen Fry
Neither. I'd stay at home playing video games. :D But if I had to choose, I'd pick to meet Sylvester Stallone and ask him stuff like where he got the inspiration for the Rocky films.
Male, it just seems like all the female ones would be stuck up and their stupid small purse puppy would try to bite your face off. But you know, I have actually met Kevin Pereira. He was a very nice person. Quakecon for the win.
I wouldn't have a chance with them at all,
I don't know many female celebrities (that I actually like), so I'm going to say dudes. Because spending a day with Denis Leary or The Stig would be awesome.
I don't like celebrities. I endure them. Therefore I would rather spend the day with no celebrity. However if I must. For the sake of this poll. I will vote for male because if I had to I would probably mildly enjoy spending the day with Jeremy Clarkson or Herman Li. But if Chet Falizek counts then I'd rather spend the day with him. (Not really a celebrity though)
What do you mean males of the Escapist? We're all men. Women aren't allowed in here! I would want to meet some of my favorite musicians. And they're all males.
I don't have a favorite. So neither, if you didn't get that
I do tend to think that meeting with my favorite male celebrities would be more interesting.
Male. Because it'd be less awkward. You can shoot the breeze, have a beer, watch some sports, talk about boobs. Y'know, normal stuff.
I would rather meet my favorite male cebrities. This is because most of my favourite female celebrities are only my favourite because they are hot, and meeting them with a massive stiffee would be embarrasing.
Ken Levine (Creator/writer of BioShock) Any of those guys.
I would much rather spend the day with Pixie Lott :) Shes dreamy...
Well i would agree with what most of the escapists here are saying. I too would rather spend the day with a male celeb than a female one. I would love to race some fast cars round the Top Gear test track with the Stig, have a laugh with the Clarkson and the other Top Gear presenters or meet the Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson. You'll just have more to talk about and have a laugh.
likelyhood of chatting having beer and good times with favourite male celebrity are higher than boning or otherwise not wierding out a favourite female celebrity. admitedly there are plenty i'd like to spend time fully clothed with but the thought would be there..... and women can usually tell.....
I wouldn't mind spending a day with Stephen Fry, bet it would be very interesting and amusing. But if I get to choose the activities then it would be Kiera Knightly...heh..heh.heh.
Male: Ewan McGregor. Female: Liv Tyler. I'll go with female.
I do prefer ladies company, but educated ladies. Alas, sadly, most female celebrities aren't exactly the brightest of people...
I'd definitely meet with Liam Neeson over... well anyone.
I don't really think of celebrities as people I'd want to sit and stare at all day. I'd like the opportunity to work with them in their respective fields. Whether that'd be bouncing ideas around with Guillermo del Toro or sharing a scene with Patrick Stewart. Maybe trading musical ideas with Muse, they seem like a fun lot to hang out with. Basically what I'm saying is that I only see celebrities for their professional merit, I still see them as human beings and wouldn't treat them any differently than I would a normal person... And I'm convinced if I was to do a film with Natalie Portman we'd end up dating. I guess to answer your question I'd say I don't care if they were male or female so long as I was seen as a peer to them. If it was a dinner date with Scarlett Johansson or a motorbike ride with Ewan Mcgregor I'd obviously enjoy it, but I'd sooner work with them and remove that barrier of celebrity status.
I would proably end up spending the day with Will Smith. He just seems like an interesting person and I like his movies.
Male, i'm not sure who that would be but it may be one of the Top Gear presenters or a comedian.
Female, cause who knows what might happen ;-P Or id have a chess game with God.
Male, but only because the people I consider celebrities and care a bit about are mostly writers... And unfortunately the ones I know the most in some of my favored genre are predominantly male. I do not imagine most of the band members that I listen to to be such interesting people, especially to an outsider. Same goes for pretty much all movie stars, they're just puppets who grab for as much media fame as they can - sure, there could be some exceptions but fuck that. So, yeah. Male: Terry Pratchett or Neal Gaiman. All of these people are sort of interesting but I don't think there'd be anything to ask beyond your generic small talk and stupid fanboyism. I might be an amateur writer, but I've already developed my own ideas and themes, most of them radically different from theirs, so while it would be interesting for me to discuss their books, I can't imagine it being that interesting or profitable (running out of adjectives here, need my coffee) for either of us. So, meh.
I'm not sure; choosing between Stephen Fry and number of attractive women is a tough choice.
You want to spend a day with a plastic monster?
I'd meet my favourite female celebrity, Ellen Page.
I'd probably meet Barack Obama. Most powerful man in the world (When you think about it), can't argue with that.
thats not a person.. | |
| (Pages: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) | |
Would you rather meet, spend the day with or interview say your favourite male "celebrity" (so for instance say Stephen Fry, Jeremy Clarkson, Will Smith, Barack Obama, Morgan Freeman.. you get the picture)
Or, meet and spend the day with your favourite female celebrity (Say... Kiera Knightly, Natalie Portman Avril Lavigne or whomever)
I've been thinking about how males and females percieve their various respective celebrities. My initial thoughts are that females idolise their favourite celebrities because, quite simpily, they are cute. Males on the other hand are less interested in the opposite sex when it comes to celebrities, and look up to their favourite musicians, actors or writers.
Before anyone accuses me of making sweeping generalisations about the opposite sex.. i am well aware there will be individual differences. In my defense, in trying to understand human behaviour, we have to make generalisations. It's done in psychology all the time. Female input is of course most welcome, and i am sorry for any lack of clarity in my post, my thoughts are rather jumbled this evening.
