What is there to discuss?
Theres the last bit. Um, I had a bunch of douche bags try and steal one of my old cars. They managed to open the door, but when they tried "hot wiring" it, they failed. They tried clutch starting it but the clutch fluid was all clogged up so they failed that too. Lastly they tried ransacking it, but since there was nothing in there except a CD stacker which they overlooked, they rolled it down the hill and it was on the middle of the road.
Not much but its still pretty cool, not like you get people sneaking around your car every day. I guess the discussion prompt would be ever been robbed/stuff stolen/broken. WHo knows maybe some ppl have some cool stories.
Updated for discussion.
Nah, haven't been in a situation like that, but dammit if I ever am I will curse gun control laws. Some punk tries to steal or damage my property I should have the right to pump him full of lead.
Shhhh, only us southern rednecks can think like that. The proper way to think of it is "they are just poor downtrodden people just trying to survive in this cruel world" lol
Downtrodden people about to get a whole lot more downtrodden if they step on my property, gun or not.
Heheh, that was chuckle worthy. Funny image you whooping the ass of some thug(I picture you like chris farley (don't kill me) lol
Haha, not quite, I'm more of the "skinny nerd still living in the basement with an almost out of place obsession with self-defense"-type.
Well if you can't pump them full of lead, why not buy a paintball gun, dry the paintballs, and max the velocity? Its not lethal, and just tell the police it was in self-defense.
You could read the post, and note where he asked for your thoughts on the issue or for similar stories. Or you know you could just not bother responding, because the way I see it all you are doing is trying to voice a negative opinion about he thread without actually saying such. Nobody forced you to post, so why even bother if you have nothing of value to add? On topic. I lived in a very crime ridden area for a time. Mostly it was drugs. People that sold drugs, and the people that used them. The people that sold them would actually run other enterprises on the side. Everything from stripping cars to fencing stolen goods. They attracted a seedy element in the people who worked with them, or bought drugs from them. There was also a lot of theft from the people who used drugs. Many times they would steal form their neighbors to give the items directly to the dealers for their drugs. It was disheartening to see people live that way. I am glad that I am back home now. The worst I have to contend with is the occasional person trying to grow weed, and not hitting their goat they cannot seem to keep properly fenced up.
Well, my Dad owns a '93 Chrysler Le Baron Convertible and the alarm went off in the middle of the night once. Apparently some idiots had tried to pry open the driver's side door with a CROWBAR! The door was extremely f***ed up and needed to be taken in for repairs.
I'd have chased them down and beat them with their own crowbar. Nope. Never been burglarized. However, I once nearly was involved in the theft of a garden gnome.
The fact that he would have killed them like a savage maybe? You use a pistol and hit the knees. They fall down, bleeding profusely, unable to walk. Now kick them in the gut, winding them. Quickly tape them to the ground. Then call 911.
You use the rifle to frighten them and shoot a round of if they approach. Blast them in the legs if need be. Shooting someone witha pistol and then kicking them will not count as self defense. Shooting themn will make it plenty easy for the police to track and or capture them. A low calibre pistol shot to legs can strike an artery, or ricochet into vital organs. There are reasons to own a shotgun, whereas a handgun is purely for self defense or concealment. Perhaps he has a reason for the shotgun.
Oh, thanks for letting me know :]
Well, here's a few things. One, when I posted, this line was not here.
Notice how he said updated for discussion? Up in the beginning of this post. That means he had added something to discuss after I had posted. Also, I'm not "trying to voice a negative opinion about he thread".
Sadly, shooting someone for attempting to steal your car will not look good to a jury. They would simply say, "That car was worth killing for?" Although, in many states, the use of deadly force is authorized to defend both life and property, so I'm not entirely sure how well it would have played out if shots were fired. On another note... My sister had her car broken into in our driveway about four or five years ago. The punks stole her stereo. It wasn't even that good of a stereo! I'm not sure how it was missed seeing as they literally smashed their way into her car, bending the door frames as they hit the windows.
I once shot a man for attempting to violate my three young robot daughters.
Yeah ive been in the exact same situation except it was raining and it was a baseball bat. I heard the handle of my car being opened
Or freeze the paintballs. A guy in my state was killed by frozen paintballs.
Just had two punks try and either steal or do something else to my car on my driveway. I was getting ready for bed, it looked like it was snowing outside so I poked my head out to see only to hear two people speaking softly (apparently not soft enough) around my car. I yelled at them and quickly ran into my house, got my shotgun and ran back they were gone. Called the police to let them know of the situation in case people called about the yelling I did. Waiting for them to come and check things out right now.
Any of you been in this situation? Have any interesting stories?
