Copy Clerk Posts: 84 Joined: 28 Jul 2009 | Yes, I'm vaccinated against the regular flu and h1n1. I work in a hospital so it's mandatory. Some employees here complain, but that's stupid. There are people in the ICUs with h1n1 right now. People have died in this hospital from h1n1. It's stupid to complain. Get the shot and shut up... Anyway, there was no uproar from the hospital employee masses with mandatory tuberculosis screening or the mandatory flu shots last year. All this crap is hyped up by the media. People need to calm the fuck down and stop whining like little selfish bitches. Anyway this version of h1n1 is not a big deal. People can even recover from it without medical attention. This is not the Spanish flu like people initially feared it was (Spanish flu is an h1n1 subtype that killed 50 million people). |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1803 Joined: 11 Jan 2009 | Nope. I'm not going to get a vaccine that obviously has problems. I hear every week how another person is suffering from horrible side effects. I'm not going to be one of those people. Plus I'm not worried about Swine Flu. My immunity is awesome. |
On the Record Posts: 6234 Joined: 10 Aug 2008 | I already got mine. Meh. Better safe then sorry, I hate any type of flu. Sure, a week long vacation never hurts, but you can hardly capitalize on it when you can barely stand and keep throwing up. Oh, and high 30s temperature. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 3398 Joined: 7 Oct 2008 | Pretty sure it's only about as dangerous as the normal flu. |
Pulitzer Laureate Posts: 999 Joined: 11 Feb 2009 | I got swine flu a month or two ago, and has far has i'm concerned my immune system works just has well has any vaccine. |

Don't be petty. You made a claim, YOU give the evidence to support it. I've looked, can't find anything saying there's a high chance of death from the vaccine. In fact the CDC have given a 1 million to 1 chance of a severe reaction the vaccine (Don't have a direct source. Second hand data here: http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/2009/is-the-h1n1-swine-flu-vaccine-safe/) |

This, only I probably already had it, not sure if it wasn't just a normal flu though... |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 1622 Joined: 2 Jul 2009 | I haven't been vaccinated. Besides, the swine flu kills less people than the normal stomach flu. I think the reason people are freaking out is that it mostly targets healthy adults instead of the young, old, and sick. |

Good for you but unfortunately in the land with the 32nd best health care in the world, we have to buy all our medication. Luckily, I haven't been sick in over 4 years |

You have an internet connection as well. If I'm too lazy to look, and your obviously too lazy to use a search engine (you know, 'cause they're "petty") then I guess we are at an impasse and there's nothing more to discuss. Go bother someone else. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 4582 Joined: 22 Jun 2008 | I am practically being forced to by my public school system, but it's a clusterfuck here. First the doctors office had it, then they ran out, then the schools had it and now they're out, and then the hospital got it and I got it while I was on visit to a doctor there. So confusing. anking93" post="18.158658.3964170"]
Good for you but unfortunately in the land with the 32nd best health care in the world, we have to buy all our medication. Luckily, I haven't been sick in over 4 years[/quote] Then why do cancer patients live longer here? It's not the 32nd best health care in the world.. IT'S the best if you live longer then anywhere else, you just think you shouldn't have to pay to keep your ass alive. It's private insurance for a reason. The only reason medical care is expensive here is because of the stress on doctors and the monopoly medical companies have. And here the vaccine didn't cost at all. I could get it school or pay a co-pay of 15$ for a doctor visit and grab a check-up or have them look at something while i'm there. |

I've looked. I've found nothing that convince me there are high risks. In fact, I've just given you evidence that there's low risk. And my "petty" reference was to the LMGTFY. Why the hell should I have to look to find evidence for YOUR claim. Either stop making statements without anything to back them up, or go bother someone else. |

Gone Gonzo Posts: 4193 Joined: 10 Feb 2008 | Nope not really, I've probably already gotten swine flu itself. I don't really care, 99.9% of the time, swine flu is just like a good ol' regular flu. |

And btw a lot more ppl die from regular flu than swine flu. They just want to sell their product. |
Gone Gonzo Posts: 1287 Joined: 11 Jun 2008 | Well actually swine flu is trying to get vaccinated against me so ye I probably won't get it cause my country is cheap and our health minister spent the budget on big macs. |

Same here, my immune system is really strong anyway. I think I already had it and fought it off so I don't care. |
Muckraker Posts: 347 Joined: 15 Apr 2009 | I have a surprisingly superior immune system. If I do catch it, nothing significant will happen to me. I gave my shot to someone who might actually need it. Well that and the whole "Governments engineered swine flu, or at least the vaccine to not be just what it seems." That I subscribe to. I'd rather not take the risk. |

I didn't get it, but I stood with my girlfriend in a three hour line waiting for her and her younger brother to get it.
