Poll: How much notoriety do you believe you have in the escapist community? Pages 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 . . . 16 NEXT
Some people know me, especially those in the Asylum as I'm a regular there. Iunno, I guess I'm at 3, or maybe 4.
I used to be somewhat bigger (or so I've been told).
I voted for 3 because that was the one that described me here best, but I wouldn't say I'm well known.
I just have somethings I could be remembered for and I have some friends on here. That's about it.
I severely doubt that people remember me, and if they do, it's probably not a good thing. I feel you gain notoriety simply by posting. Not just in excessive amounts, I can't count how many people have a higher post count than myself and they've been members all of a week, however, I feel that I recognize people more, simply because I've read the contributions they've made to the forums.
I'd say that no one would recognize me, while I'm sure a few of my posts have made people laugh or think, I don't think anyone would link it to me. On the flipside, there are 4 or 5 posters that I know a bit about because when I see their name and avatar I usually read what they have to say as I know it'll be something interesting. It's kind of odd though, to see someone with like 9,000 posts and I've never seen any of them.
No clue. Although I think I post quite a bit, I'm not sure how many people would recognise me.
I'd say i'm somewhere between 2 and 3.
Based on the poll I guess I'm a 3, but realistically I'm probably more of a 2.5302859430385494 Roughly.
I believe Sam Elliot can best answer this.
Thanks Sam Elliot. | |
I don't have an avatar, and I don't think I have much of a reputation. People I've conversed with probably remember me, and I'm widely known for hating Fallout 3's ending, but other than that I have no notoriety.
Hard to say. Most of the people who seem to know me are on the usergroups, but I wouldn't think that counts (they're smaller communities anyway). I'm probably about a three. Some of my user review reputation has carried over a bit. Might be a four, if you limit the discussion to Religion & Politics.
I voted 3, because I do have memorable posts. Just some people remember what I say, rather then who said it...
I post pretty frequently but I don't think anyone really knows me because I haven't been doing it that long and I'm rather inoffensive.
Only 3, because Frank_Sinatra only added me because I sent him a message entitled: Fly Me To The Moon.
I don't have any friends on here and I only have a little over 1000 posts. When compared to people like Aby_Z it's not much at all. I do post frequently though and I'm occaisionally known for my hatred for Too Human and my love for Jet Set Radio Future and Pong.
I voted 3 since it best describes me.
This is the internet. No one knows anyone. What you post may be an extension of yourself, but another person attempting to construct an image of a real person from that is about the same as one attempting to reproduce the last supper after seeing it once ten years prior on a neon pink post-it note with crayons. If you're well adjusted with an extremely unbiased eidetic memory, you may come close, but most likely you're going to say "fuck that" and draw a dragon or a bully getting kicked in the nads by your boot (aka, whatever pleases your ego the most).
Probably none, as I lurk more often than I post. And when I do show up, it usually isn't to say anything very memorable. I'm just sort of along for the ride.
For the Escapist as a whole, probably around a 3. In certain groups (Socialist Gamers Guild, former Order of the Troll Slayers) probably a 5, at least a 4.
I recognized your avatar, but not your name.
Among certain rather limited circles I'm fairly well known, otherwise I doubt anyone much knows who I am unless they've had occasion to interact with me at some point. I don't exactly post a lot after all, and when you consider the only threads I ever make are reviews of obscure albums from bands most people have never heard of, it's not especially hard to envision why I'm not exactly a household name here, heh. While I make no pretense that I'm anything other than a jackass/horrible snob, I'm otherwise innocuous enough to not warrant any notoriety. Remember: Notorious = well known for something bad, not just well known.
So can Chris Cornell: | |
I have no idea. Even if I did, I would rather other people just show it by recognizing me or quoting me and explaining why rather then saying it, because to me that seems better. :)
I love you. I'm a 3. I would be a 4 if the Escapist didn't eat my god damn avatar. Since it went down, I've gotten over 50 messages asking what happened.
I have no idea. Some people might remember some of my posts but I think not too many would.
I can't say if anyone really knows I'm here. I'm interested to see where this goes.
Probably a 3. | |
This is one of the worst excuses for a topic of conversation i have seen on the internet...
Done, since you quoted me 3 times already.
We were talking about pseudo brain sex though. But if that's what you are into... ;) :)
I'm a ninja. I'm always there but nobody really notices.
You know, that is a mental image I could have done without.
Well, I'm pretty popular in my little group of Digimon fans, and also in the Digimon RP that I am a part of. As for the Escapist overall, I don't know how well known I am. Granted, I'm the only one here with a Renamon avatar, but I don't think people remember for much other than that. I voted "4," just to be safe.
I'm known by some people (I'm rather popular in some groups, The Hariminater stalks me, ect.), and I know some people know me by my avatar and my readiness to point out if someone else has it, but I would say I'm a three. I'm known, but I could fade away, and no one would notice.

I mean, how much do you think other users know you? Your level of celebrity here? I see some people get shoutouts when people aren't just posting their opinions and leaving, but obviously there are some familiar faces. Personally, and most obviously, I know that maybe one other person on here would recognize me on a good day with a guide book, but I'm curious what other people think/know/think.
