Make a doom tower that spews molten lava... that's what I did...<.< though it's more like a doom city now...
I made a giant spire to act as a beacon, now I can always find home :P
Everything? I greatly enjoy making farms, my most current one is quite large by now. I also enjoy building large fortresses, cities, giant and cool-looking towers, temples, churches, altars of fire, water, air and earth, lighthouses, small farmer communities, statues, 8-bit art and more... I just love this game so much ^^.
I made a giant castle, three above ground shelters, and around 8 underground shelters, then I linked them all together through a series of underground caves. There is one exception, I have two buildings linked through a path going between the glass towers on top of the buildings.
Destroy/collect every block on the entire map :D
I hollow out mountains, turning them into swiss cheese. I don't even have a pattern. I just start carving away in whatever direction strikes my fancy. Then I use the stone to build a castle on top of the mountain that reaches the vertical limit of the world.
Is it really worth paying for?
You're asking this in a thread full of people enjoying the game.. Think it over a little, the answer might come to you. While I'm on the subject
Personal project that I get back to on and off whenever I have the time to spare,
you could try playing classic mode but that doesn't give alpha justice, my advice is to watch people playing it in videos on youtube of people just playing and see if you like it. the only better way to decide besides that is to buy the game and play it
Spelunking. | |
Well sure but ... ehm ... let me refrase then how much better is the alpha version?
The dragons haven't been released into the game yet o_O as far as I know.. am I missing something here?!
Zombies, skeletons, spiders and best of all CREEPERS!!!
Nah they were creepers =P. I guess they are the closest thing since they explode and all.
Is Minecraft free?? I think I wanna buy it?
You have to pay for alpha, but it covers all the future updates. But i you can get a version that is free, i forgot what it was called, classic?
I have a 150-ish square walled compound with four block tall stone walls topped with fences. The stone goes down five more, into my moat surrounding it. There's the tree farm on one side of the compound, the infinite water pit, a couple infinite fires. The entrance to my mine which leads to two main chambers and one pit I'm digging for no particular reason. And at the top of a 100 block tall ladder is my floating fortress, a currently three story structure with balconies and decks and an under construction spiral staircase tower topped with an observation platform that will eventually lead to another floating fortress. As it stands I can gather/craft/whatever everything I need within the safety of my walls.
I always start growing trees on top of one another, untill I reach the maximum height, then build a helter-skelter minetrack thingy down.
I have no analogies for this so I'll score them alpha 12/10 it's like Jesus baked a cake of pure happiness and put a stripper inside of it for your birthday and my god is it delicous
Well, my current world's spawn point was in a lagoon with a single navigable channel to the open ocean, so I built a house on stilts over the water and I'm currently in the process of building a colossus to straddle the channel. Giant statues are always fun. Later, I'm going to go over to a floating island I found, built a lighthouse on top, and then try and turn the entire ocean into obsidian with a single steel bucket. Minecraft may well be the answer to all the world's problems.
I made a good looking castle (fairly big, two stories, made of cobblestone and it has turret watchtowers) with a bunch of glass windows and I placed torches neatly around the windows in the house and put a jukebox by the door (which has a bunch of steps that lead into my garden which has a moat and a bridge that leads to a ladder which goes really far down!) so when you stand really far away from it it's really visible because of the light coming through the windows and looks HEAPS awesome. I just gotta destroy some of the trees and dirt nearby that block the view.
The best thing to do is be creative and innovative. If only I could tell you how.
You could do what I've been doing recently and create "Zelda-ish" temples filled with traps/puzzles/hidden doors and jump challenges and then get your friends or family to solve them. This is a little hard because the game mechanics on the single-player maps are a little limited but if I bothered making a private server or getting mods it could really become awesome. Otherwise, recreate... FUCKING EVERYTHING!!! Start with the world wonders, work down too cool shit like the floating windmill from the Gorillaz music video (one I made) or a recreation of the titanic mid-sinking. or you know... go outside and dig a hole. Save 10 bucks :P
I'm building a battleship
But then we'd all starve. Also, I'm currently mining for no particular reason other than to mine. It started as a good size cave, and now it goes for about 10 blocks down, I'm thinking about expanding to the lake nearby, or creating an artificial river with a glass top, possibly in the shape of a penis. Edit: I only got the game on Sunday, so I'm still learning about the mechanics.
I recreated The Western Air Temple in Avatar: The Last Airbender. So, that.
Please tell me you have pictures
BAHAHAHAHA!!! You have inspired laughter in me Sir! Top notch humor! (Not being sarcastic, seriously!) As an aside, everyone in my circle of friends is playing it, but I can't bring myself to care when I have 5 other things that I need to get done.
I'm making a sea-borne foundry with a quarter-mile of minecart tracks leading from the building to my primary excavation site, in order to greater facilitate mining operations, so that I'll always have enough materials to continually expand on the building itself and turn it into the ultimate hard-mode-proof fortress. In concept, it's kinda like a refinery from Command and Conquer, but every time a harvester returns, the building itself gets bigger and is further reinforced. By the way, learning how to craft is incredibly important. Get on that immediately.
Make a tower with slots for you to place tnt in, then wait for a enemy to walk under, activate the tnt and bam! the creeper is dead :D
Dig a huge hole and use the resources to build a giant statue of yourself. It'd probably be smart to turn the game to 'peacefull' to prevent creeper-sabotage.
Sky castle with a manmade lava lake underneath. then, create a glass sky-thing and pour lava of the top of that. your skyhouse is now floating in the middle of a lava tube. thats above ground. yeah!
Recreate all the temples from every zelda game. Thats what I plan to do at some point, but I may have to wait a while for some new features. Which one to do first..?
i like to make a tower of doom or something similar

What are the best things to do/make in minecaft.
I'm starting a new world
