Which do you prefer?

Airsoft all the way. Hurts less, no annoying paint, and unless i'm mistaking in paintball you can't get all those cool replica's which exist for airsoft. I love my colt 1911 and FNC.

Airsoft all the way. Hurts less, no annoying paint, and while you can get "replicas", they always have to have massive, fuck-off air-cannisters and the gravity fed mags.

Hmm, hard to say. Call me a wimp but for indoor arenas, I much prefer airsoft, simply because at point blank, the little 6mm balls leave a far smaller and less painful welt than the 1 inch ball of paint.

However outside it's a lot harder to feel a hit because of the increase in engagement range, so then I prefer paintball, even though it's harder to be accurate with a paint marker than an airsoft.

So, I can't really pick one over the other, both are full of awesomeness and an amazing way to spend an afternoon, and also a great way to discover your 60 year old grandfather is a wicked shot >.>

Airsoft all the way. Hurts less, no annoying paint, and they're modeled after real guns. Oly situation where I can gun down my friends with double-fisted mac 10s.

I tend to prefer laserquest to both of them really. Something I can do in an hour or two instead of an entire day, and much cheaper.

But if I have to choose, there's something far more satisfying to me about paintball. It'd be different if I played with strangers, but there's always something nice about solving the washing up argument at 300 feet per second.

Huh... not really sure...

I've shed blood on the paintball fields, damnit! And it was awesome! Mid-January, cold as fuck, shot point blank... got the scar to prove it and all...

Anyway, I like airsoft for all the replicas, the less clunky feel and the greater variety (or at least that's how I see it). But paintball is slightly more rewarding for certain kills... like headshotting someone from 20m through a 10cm gap... or a Wanted-esque kill (which unfortunately happened to me but I still LOL'd)...

PaintBall all the way. Hurts more, you can't cheat with the paint shots, and who cares if they don't look like real guns, make's the sport more unique.

Sorry had too :P

Seriously though there is something fun and thrilling about playing Paintball, I've played both Airsoft and PB, but I prefered the Paintball. The sport has more dedicated arena's in my area also.

Though indoor arena's kinda suck when the paint start's becoming all oily and wet and greasy.

Paintball. I've never understood, nor will ever understand the appeal of airsoft. I've played it, but it is just too easy to cheat. I'll stick to paintball any time.

Airsoft is a combat simulation where you use harmless versions of proper weapons, sights and all.
Paintball is a game/sport where you run around firing at people with markers that have no sights, ludicrous amounts of ammo, and astounding projectile drop; normally in some sort of arena with large pieces of artificial cover. You're basically playing tag with artificially lengthened arms.

It depends on what you want, really. If you want to play around with your friends and have a hectic but fun experience, go for paintball.
If you want to test your aptitude in a real combat situation: i.e. your ability to take cover, stay undetected, aim and hit, all the while using realistic replicas of real guns, choose airsoft.
Airsoft also contains the gentleman's element where participants have to acknowledge when they've been hit. As such it isn't as fitting for douchebags.

The difference is basically this: Airsoft = Battlefield 2, Paintball = Cod MW: 2/3.

I prefer Airsoft.
It's a game for adults, unlike paintball.

People who would cheat if given the chance emigrate to paintball.

I've only played airsoft screwing around with(ie lighting up) my brother at home. I've played paintball and really enjoyed it. The only thing that annoyed me was the lack of good sights and the projectile drop which was pretty annoying seeing as I prefer to pick targets off at range.

I have only been paint balling, i really enjoy it i get a few nice bruises and just have a really good time shotting my mates and running about.

I prefer airsoft but sadly it just doesn't attract enough people. Every field is either paintball only or airsoft once every 2-3 weeks.

I would prefer Airsoft if it was legal down here... Stupid firearm laws!

While I do enjoy both, I'll have to side with airsoft. Paintball is fun, but airsoft lets me run about with a replica of an actual weapon, and for a guy like me who has a strange fascination with guns that right there is a MASSIVE plus.

Paintball
Because I'm a manly man of course
Then again I've never done airsoft, so my opinion is just a bit biased
But I love paintball, the adrenalin rush, the pain if you get hit like a slap in the back of the head for giving away your position
Ahh it is an amazing game indeed.

Airsoft man myself, if only because there is much more variety available in Airsoft guns than paintball guns. I like my options when it comes to choosing my arsenal.

Airsoft, never played paintpall. Would love to try it but I've played tons of Airsoft so it got my vote.

I've played Paintball once and it wasn't very fun since I couldn't aim for shit xD. I want to try Airsoft some time, my friend says it's great fun.

Paintball. Don't know why, but I just love it. Airsoft... Never had that appeal to me. Though, I'll admit that i love the replica airsoft guns. Guess I'll just have to start my own business making magazine fed replica paintball guns and solve the problem entirely. (And yes, I know about RAP4)

I have played both, and Airsoft is more satisfying.

I suppose if you are a cheater or playing with cheaters then yeah stay away from airsoft. But I have seen people cheat just as easily at paintball by throwing dirt onto the paint to cover it up.

That reminds me of another thing: Playing multiple rounds of Airsoft is MUCH easier as you dont have to deal with bullshit paint on your gear.

Back and I was a conscript we used old blank cartriges. They have wooden instead of cartboard plug. The plug rarely disintigrates within 50m, so they proved very usefull for training.Back then we didn't have simulators like DISE and paintball was expensive.

Laser Quest guys?

lol jk.

Correct answer:

Paintball. Only because I learned to build paintball mine and claymores. Takes a half hour to build one but it's satisfying as hell to watch it go off.

Also made a long range paintball gun once. cleared 150 yard mark. Only got one shot per canister of CO2 though.

Prefer airsofting here. It's easier to aim and I prefer the more realistic guns. Plus in my experience, you tend to get slightly more mature people going to airsoft.
Just brought myself a Tokyo Mauri M14 SOCOM. :)

Paintball. Because I got balls the size of all of you. :D (j/k)

Mostly becuase im part of a "club" and we're building our own track. Also paintball is a sport and hobby while airsoft is a hobby.

Fucking hate cheaters, they ruin both games. Was in a 150 man fight (been up to as big as 300) and 1 guy I clearly shot in the face ducked down behind a rock and came back up again with a clean visor. So I walked over the field being shot like a million times, walked up and emptied 200 balls on him pointblank and then called for a judge. I got 30 mins of no play. He got kicked out from the entire 2 day game. Worth it.
