Favorite fight in Dragon Ball Z?

Anyone who watched DBZ, what was your favourite fight of the series?

Mine was Majin Vegeta vs Kakarot, that battle had so much feeling to it. You could understand why Vegeta did it, and how much he wanted to beat Kakarot.

I liked the fight with Cell. Munchkin-Cells and all.

The Ginyu Force fights were fantastic. The best of them I felt was Vegeta vs Recoome. It was one of the few times in the series where two fighters were evenly matched for most of the fight.

Probably Fat Buu vs Kid Buu.

I always loved the cartoony, over-the-top vibe of it.

Got to be Goku vs Vegeta, the first battle. God I watched that fight over and over again. Love every minute of it.

Second favorite has to be Goku vs Cell.

Moo!

The one at the end.

You know.

When it ended.

I've never heard them be called Munchkin Cells before. That's adorable! ^_^

OT: I'm gonna go with you on this. That fight is amazing, especially when Gohan goes SSJ2.

Yay, troll!

Ignore the quoted thing, probably wasn't loved as a child.

OT: Frieza vs Trunks, hilarious.

Gohan vs Cell.

Shame Gohan never really accomplished anything else ever again. :(

Probably...Super Buu and Kid Buu battles. All because Buu is just plain funny. I mean, come on. They trap him in the time chamber for all eternity and he sulks around going "Buu wants candy..." before literally shouting through dimensions to escape.

Is that the fight where Gotenks and Piccolo crash into the bathtub?

The Gohan Vs. Cell fight all of it hands down you can talk about the buu saga, but it wasn't that interesting besides super sayin 3

Goku vs Freeza without a doubt.

Fun Triva, The Freeza saga was originally where DBZ was supposed to end, which makes sense in hindsight on how weak and useless the super sayian transformation

I WOULD like to add the qualifier that I enjoyed some of the original Dragon Ball (Not Z) episodes, especially the competition battles, but I found that Dragon Ball Z consisted of plots more belonging to soap operas and, seriously, any non-anime would use that much plot in a single episode rather than 30.

No other series survives solely on characters smirking so often!

Isn't it great that Kai and Abriged are around then to counteract that problem?

Nimcha:
Gohan vs Cell.

Shame Gohan never really accomplished anything else ever again. :(

Well he released Elder Kai, and got things moving

Then he uh.. trained all that time..

...

And got owned

Hey, hey now, he did more than THAT.

...he also got eaten by Buu, which transformed him into the near-unstoppable Super Buu form. THAT'S something. Not anything GOOD, mind you, but something.

I enjoyed watching Nappa tear through the Z-Fighters one by one and then Goku showing up to wipe the floor with him, followed immediately with the battle against Vegeta where pretty much everyone still alive was on the verge of death by the end.

One of the movie battles, Hirudegarn's lower half vs. the Saiymen. (1+2)

(I love Ms. Saiyaman, Videl is awesome)

Best battle? Goku vs. Vegita.

I liked Piccolo vs. Android 17. Fast fight with lots of good action. We also get to see Piccolo at his one of his best, pulling out almost every stop to beeat Android 17.

Mine was the one were the two guys were yelling and punching each other in mid-air.

I think so. But basically, Buu had fun moments, like...

{1} The one I just described.

{2} Buu not wanting to wait for new warriors and deciding to...what the hell...kill EVERYBODY.

{3} Buu VS Gohan the first time and going mad until self-detonation.

{4} Buu VS flying coffee-flavored candy.

{5} INSIDE Majin Buu!

{6} Kid Buu continually blowing up planets.

{7} Kid Buu during the 'toy with the heroes phase', including where he wouldn't stop beating his chest and howling like a monkey...even with a knee in his mouth.

Future Trunks vs (Android?) Frieza. It was the only fight that started and ended in the same episode. The fatality was also brutal as hell which earns it bonus points from me.

When Future Trunks went back to his own time and basically cleaned house.

It wasn't much of a fight, but when Trunks first appeared and ended Frieza and his dad (King Cold, was it?)

They'd taken DBZ off Cartoon Network for like the entire Summer in the UK and that was the first episode when it came back on.

And it was fucking sweet.

I know I'm late to the party on this one, but I have a few. The first that comes to my mind is that Majin Vegeta vs. Goku fight. That was just an all-out slug fest, and it had a lot more emotional backing than many Z fights. I always liked the ones where Goku shows up and completely cleans house, like against Nappa and the Ginyus. I love the Goku and Pikkon fight, just plain epic. I also think the most just plain entertaining fight was Super Saiyan Vegeta owning Android 19, laughed my ass off pretty much the whole time. Gohan vs. Cell is kinda obvious, don't really need to go into that one. I really liked the Fat Buu vs. Super Saiyan 3 Goku one too. Plus SS3 Goku vs. Janemba cuz it was just such a spectacle. Goku's fight with Cell was pretty cool too, just has such a "come the f*ck on!" abrupt end to it.

In short, I love a lot of em, but my top 3 are Majin Vegeta vs. Goku, Goku vs. Pikkon, and Vegeta vs. Android 17. With honorable mention to Gohan vs. Cell.

Goku Versus Vegeta was awesome. The Kamehameha versus Gallick Gun struggle was epic. Plus the whole fight is hilarious in DBZ Abridged.

Goku versus Frieza was great, too. Freiza was an all around great villain and when he killed Krillen causing Goku to become a Super Saiyan, you just got chills. Great fight with an awesome villain!

Goku versus Cell. Yes, I know Gohan beat him, but Goku had a better fight. It was more interesting and more even. Gohan went from getting pounded to completely outmatching Cell and the whole fight ended in a beam struggle. Yes, it was an epic beam strugle, but the Goku fight was better.

And Majin Vegeta versus Fat Buu was pretty good, too. Just because it was the first time Vegeta had ever fought for someone else. You could tell how much he changed. And on a fun little aside, I was talking with someone about Vegeta's character development and we theorized that he became a bit of a surrogate father to Gohan. Part of the reason was this fight.

erttheking:
Goku vs Freeza without a doubt.

Fun Triva, The Freeza saga was originally where DBZ was supposed to end, which makes sense in hindsight on how weak and useless the super sayian transformation

No, it wasn't. People only think this because the series "wasn't as good after that" and that obviously meant Toriyama was forced to write past that point against his will or because he didn't want to create a new series that wouldn't be as successful. This is wrong. At no point was Toriyama forced to continue working on DBZ. Period. The only time he actually considered ending the series was prior to DBZ in Dragonball. While it is true that the "z" in DBZ was Toriyama's way of saying that this is the end of the series, he was never actually coerced to continue the series past the Frieza saga. The more you know.

I always like the Goku SS3 vs Kid Buu fight even if the SS3 was short lived. I just like the fact it had that scene with Vegeta finally acknowledge and respect Goku.

In Z? Goku vs Freeza.
But my favorite battle is kid Goku vs King Piccolo.

Goten Vs Trunks was cool but any fight involving gotenks (minus his first hilariously bad first attempt against Buu) Can't remember a lot of em

Nappa vs. the world

then

nappa vs. vegeta.....awwww....

I love kid Gohan vs the (red?) army in Dragon Ball. When he invaded the base... not much resistance, but just awesome.

I much preferred that show to Z. Definitely better music, and kid Gohan was such a cool character.

I think this was my favourite fight:

The first duel between Goku and Vegeta. By far. It was the one that best captured the spirit of the new series as opposed to the original Dragon Ball. Now we knew shit just got real!

Philol:
I think this was my favourite fight:

He's insayan! from Earth! Sorry, I had to...
