England, that lovely miserable wet island

England

Island

Try again.

Great Britain is the Island, and I'm sick of sharing it with bastards who don't know their own rich cultural history and it's modern ramifications.

... thats meant to be tongue in cheek by the way, so don't take it too seriously.

CrazyDave DC:
Go Flames go! :P

This.

What if all of the poll questions were done by students at universities and we were their lab experiments for their thesis papers?

Then the standards of University education have dropped significantly, and it's no wonder so many graduates can't get jobs these days?

America more specifically New Jersey

United States. Florida, to be more specific, but I'm currently going to college in Pennsylvania. ^^

Utah.

No I'm not Mormon.
No I don't Ski.
No I didn't see the latest Jazz game.
Yes I drink beer.
No my whole state isn't "Little house on the prairie."

I'm English but I don't drink tea. I know, I know it's amazing.

I'm English and I do drink tea.

I also pronounce "scone" to rhyme with "gone" (instead of "cone") which - for some reason - really confused people the last time I was in the States.

</random-aside>

Switzerland.

I am completely neutral about this poll.

England, UK. Definitely not European but closest option on the poll.

But you are a part of Europe, and the EU

Why are the brittish so sensetive on that point? Almost xenophobic

Because I'm not European I'm British, Europe normally refers to mainland ie France and Germany and frankly I don't want to be grouped with the French.

aba1:
Canadian guy here. I am from Ontario bout a hour away from Toronto, a place known by people around the area as "the shwa"

Dude! we're from the same city!

Surrey, England. I am not happy about lumped in with those disgraceful continental types either.

East Scotland, that's in the UK if you don't know ;) a small cosy town with brilliant internet :D

Montana FTW. Western Montana that is. Eastern Montana is a bit too flat for my liking.

America, the self-proclamed greatest planet on earth, and masters of sutiley, along with small portion sizes.

but hey, at least our pudding doesn't look like inflamed orgains ripped from Satan's prostate.

Britain. England. Wiltshire. Swindon.

Contrary to popular belief, has more coffee than tea, and our teeth are some of the best quality in the world. And fantastical facial hair has not been worn fashionably in over 3/4 of a century.

If you think I'm being sarcastic, check my maths. Seriously, English stereotypes are more inaccurate than most stereotypes.

Although I will admit the chav... Football hooligan... Multicultural battle arena... Yeah, they're all true.

A-Sraya, Tasmania, Hobart, second oldest city in Aus and smallest capital city (I think), also, we are the arse end of the world, nothing ever, ever, ever, happens here. boredom is the official state sport.

Greetings from Los Angeles. Land of pornstars, hollywood, and plastic surgery.

Small world eh

I live in Virginia but in the DC Area part so I'm not in any way southern, in fact I don't know if there are any stereotypes associated with the DC Area besides that we're all stuck up and conceited which is something that I have not come across and I've lived here all my life.

I'm a Texas girl right on the edge of the bible belt.

OT: Is it because of the posting time or are Europeans really the majority on the Escapist? If it were midnight in the U.S. when this was posted I could understand why there would be such a huge difference.

Perhaps in the UK when you colloquially speak about "Europe" you mean "continental Europe" (i.e. the mainland), as we do in Sweden, however, you can hardly deny that both Scandinavia and the British isles aaare a part of Europe, both culturally and otherwise. Even though we may be located on the periphery.

I am from Welshland. That's Wales to anyone who has actully heard of it.

High five to the fellow Sheep Shagger!

Norn Iron here.

Matthew94:
Northern Ireland

The greatest country in the world.

Why? Potato bread, checkmate

Eh, I can't stand the place. I want to move overseas, haha. Anyway, the taty bread is better as an ingredient to the oh-so very healthy Ulster Fry, of course!

No no, I did screw up, maybe it's the English-hatin' Irish blood coming through again. Though both Scotland and Wales don't like being part of Britain that much anyway, we may as well be a seperate island for all the good it does. Hell, if global warming has its way, we might soon be... scary thought that

Did you go to highshcool in Oshawa? I went to Pereyma

I'm Irish, so technically European, but not in any practical sense. Europe's so filled with various cultures and ethnic groups, even within individual nations, that classifying them all in one group is a massive generalisation.

(Also: Where the hell is New Zealand on that poll? I mean Christ, you could've at least grouped it in Austral-Asia).
