I voted yes, read the replies, and changed my mind. You fellows are convincing. I'd probably obsess over it like I do the actual dating site that I use. Too many guys, not enough women, no one is sure of what they want, and there's a lot of general dickishness to be had. Men are pigs. Women are not interested. Add that extra layer of anonymity and shared interests and there's a whole other layer of potential hurt feelings. | |

There are plenty of sites out there that already cater to this kind of thing. I'm all for people finding a connection with each other through common interests but there's always the PM system if you want to get to know someone better. In my opinion, it's better the Escapist remains as a master of its trade as opposed to trying to be a jack of others. | |
I guess so, but Off-Topic is pretty standard on any form. A dating part isn't. I just don't think it's something a place like The Escapist should do, I think it would attract the wrong people. Someone should start up a dating site just for gamers. | |

No, I came here for the videos and the forums not to look for a date. While it's true that a few relationships had blossom from here but I think they did it via PM's and meeting up which it should be kept that way. | |

Don't care either way. The idea of talking to people simply to try to find a date rubs me the wrong way. IIRC, I said before that a dating site just does things in the wrong order for me. If I like someone then I want to try to date them. With no one I care for already what is my incentive to find a relationship? I'm good enough without one. And it applies the same to a dating forum.
On the other hand, I really don't care if people go ahead and do that. Maybe it'll cause juicy forum drama between those foolish enough to try and not be able to accept failure.
