Gorillaz is Over Pages 1 2 3 NEXT
I enjoyed their music and will always have a place for them in my ear canals. You could kind of see if coming during the Plastic Beach music video story arc. They never got around to finishing the "Rhinestone Eyes" music video.
:,( Gorillaz, you wil be missed.
I weep for Russel, Murdoc, Noodle and 2D.
| |
What????? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODKA;JDFA;;aoidhfakdj;GarbleGarblegarble sob sob I am now terribly depressed
I gave up on them when they started to tell a story and I couldn't find where the hell they were actually giving out any details.
i loved the gorrilaz, they made one of my favourite songs although one of my best songs is "just had sex" by lonelyisland so it probably doesnt count for much :)

All good things must come to an end. To be honest, I never thought they would even make it to Plastic Beach...
They made some great music, I have all there albums and started listening to them when I was very young. Plastic Beach was amazing. Even if a band only makes one Album, I would still be happy they did what they did, if a band in over then a band is over.
I only really like Clint Eastwood so I can't say I'm bothered tbh. Sad for the fans I guess.
I always feel like a band breaking up after having a really strong output is better than staying together too long, but damn, I'm gonna miss them. Loved the music and the art.
Oh, that sucks... I found Demon Days to be amazing, and even though it took some time, i eventually enjoyed Plastic Beach very much too. (The Fall kinda sucked, and the rest of the albums were "ok" but flawed). And i liked how with every album Albarn managed to have a sort of different, yet familiar sound. Also, i would've very much liked to see a Gorillaz film (planned WAAAAY back when Clint Eastwood was all the hype), if only to have a true animated film by Jaime Hewlett (Even the almost non existent possibility of an animated adaption of Monkey: Journey to the West is now confirmed impossible if Albarn and Hewlett are no longer on speaking terms.) that isn't runied by 90ies awfulness (also, i like weird musicals) :(
Ina musical sense they wernt really around for that long, 14 years I think? Bands like Black Sabbath had multiple breakups over there 40 year period but got back together after a while, same for many other bands just give it time and in another ten years there will be another reunion when Albarn is low on cash. Although im not really a fan of the band I have a few mates who are.
I thought they were finished a while ago. I suppose it's nice to know what's happening now though.
Gorillaz hasn't actually been that good since after the Demon Days album, so I guess it's a good thing they quit.
I thought they were good, not one of my favourites but Demon Days was such a good album, they will be missed. The music industry has lost a good soldier today
Well I never expected them to do more than the first album but they proved a lot of people wrong. Good to end on a high I guess.
Its a shame to lose the biggest experimental musicians out there who really are pushing the boundries of the medium. Shall be missed. im gutted i never got to see them live tbh.
Not really that fussed, preferred them to Blur though. Shame for the fans but they've had a good run. No doubt everyone involved will be back with some new things.
Was that their first really huge song? Something to do with sunshine in a bag? I got the CD that was on and was greatly disappointed. Never cared for them and honestly thought they had faded into obscurity years ago.
Mmm as many I liked a few of the songs.. but well cd's are overrated. You pay money to get 2 or 3 good songs and the rest.. well with luck it just needs time to grow on you. Yet many cases those 2-3 are all that matters. But yeah they made a few nice happy songs.
I remember watching the music video for 'Feel Good Inc.' on TV awhile ago, but didn't really have much interest in them after that. The fans must be in shock but I think they had their time.
Damn it. First, rumors over Battlefront 3 turns out to be false, and then one of my favorite bands come to an end.
Poor Xambers :( OT: I did appreciate some of their songs, overall a good band and they will be missed.
Doesn't really bother me much since I only really liked the first Album and them only two songs really (Sound Check and Double Bass).
On the bright side, maybe this means Albarn will finally get around to doing that new The Good, The Bad And The Queen release that was supposed to happen ages ago.
I remember hearing some of their stuff. It was pretty good.
Well, if the Blur reunion will REALLY happen I'd feel a bit even overcompensated. Always loved it more than Gorillaz a bit.
NO I absolutely loved Gorillaz, shame to see them stop.
As far as I am aware, Albarn announced that Blur was also finished in the same interview.
Well that blows. ...Not really much else to say other than that.
Very sad days. Gorillaz is one of the few "mainstream" artists I genuinely enjoyed a lot.
...I...well, that's...I really don't know what to say. I've been a fan of theirs for a long time, and it's a shame to see them go. I know it had to happen sometime, but still... Now if you'll excuse me, I have some music to listen to.
One of the fwe decent pop bands are done... What a sad day.

This band was a huge inspiration to me, and I'm sad to see them go. Thoughts?
