Forum atheists are the scourge of the internet.

You know, those ones who jump on the "I hate Christianity" bandwagon and think they're cool, edgy and smart. Just ignore religion in silence like most of the rest of the developed world does.

Thank you! What kills me is that they're not even true atheists. All their "Atheism" focuses on how much christians suck, not islam, judaism, buhdists, hindus or any other religion just the only one they likely know. It's horrible and annoying...
That's Underarmor btw. probably not the best captcha since it's not exactly a brand everyone knows from birth like say McDonalds or Coke.

Fifth.

I swear, it bothered me at just how... settled all the people were in New Vegas. I mean, the Mojave was the most civilized post-apocalyptic wasteland I've ever seen, and I know it's because the nukes were redirected and all that crap. I just prefer Fallout 3 for the Capitol Wasteland's oppressive and dangerous atmosphere.

There is only hate on the internet. It's the only way people can express themselves here, it seems.

It's not like there's a difference between being atheist and anti-theist. Or that atheists don't have to define their beliefs with hate for religion.

How about something along the lines that they embrace an ideology of the progression of an intelligent species that is alone in the struggle of survival and, therefore, skeptical of and not reliant upon any outside source of power? Not "FUCK CHRISTIANITY AND FUCK RELIGION!!! ESPECIALLY CHRISTIANITY!!!"

No, I don't have someone in mind who already posted, what possibly gave you that idea?

Yeah I also see the TIE fighter capcha. In fact, I'm not even sure what brand that is... :/

2. You never see Death Metal or Black Metal bands winning any musical awards ever. Why is that? Because it's all the same. Some guy throwing out random riffs on a guitar while another guy screams incoherently into a microphone.

Actually, it happens in European countries all the time. Why? Because European countries aren't filled with idiot hillbillies who believe this crap.

I think that some country should grow some fucking balls and sponsor alternative energy research, and I mean fully, not some half ass commitment, I am so damn tired of paying around 1.40 a litre(roughly 5.50 a gallon). The oil companies are the world's biggest white collar criminals.

The St louis blues will win the cup this year.

Before you are allowed to have any kids, you must have an intensive backround check done(I have seen childrens aid and the parents there, 99% of them have no buisiness having kids, the other 1% are fucked over by a spouse or someone else spreading lies)

Shows like TMZ should be banned, honestly, why does anyone give A FUCK WHO KIM I HAD SEX IN A VIDEO IS DATING?! WHY?! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!!!!!!

Nancy Grace and all the Fox news broadcasters need to be taken off the air.

Gun control in the states needs to happen, just because you have the right to bear arms, doesn't mean you should.

I believe the Star Wars prequels are better than the original trilogy, with The Phantom Menace being the best of the 6 and The Empire Strikes Back being the worst of the 6.

I believe Digimon is superior to Pokemon.

I believe the Wii is the best console in this generation and that the 360 is a broken pile of dribble that is only popular because A) it was released first and B) it appeals to frat gamers with it's HUMONGOUS library of shooters.

I believe the shooter genre is by far the worst genre in the history of video games, especially the first person variety.

I believe Skyrim is a broken mess, and think that Bethesda doesn't deserve the support they get when they constantly release such buggy products.

I believe EA isn't evil, and that the likes of Ubisoft and Activision are much worse.

I believe many of the people who look down upon bronies do so because they're jealous that bronies have something to love or that they genuinely had a shitty childhood.

I like Metallica's modern stuff. I know, I know. I've tried to change, but every time I listen to St. Anger or Death Magnetic, I just... *sobs* I can't help what I like, dammit!

*laughs* My unpopular opinions are actually popular ones, just not in the context of my (conservative, Christian) community. Wait, maybe there is one...

I believe in treating every human with basic respect. I believe in giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, in showing them mercy, love, and forgiveness because I pity all humanity in their endless misery and suffering. Though I may dislike a person, though I may hate them, I must force myself to treat them with civility and kindness because I cannot see into their heart and judge them to be good or evil.

It is because of this closet humanism that I find myself at odds with Christianity's concept of a divine judgment, of heaven and hell. If I were God, I would either save all humanity or kill all humanity. Humans are consigned to their sins; I will not place the faults of the universe on their shoulders.

Rikomag132:

It may be extreme, but I agree. Earth is ridiculously overpopulated by humans, and it is really taxing on it's resources. Global warming would also be easier to counteract, seeing as we wouldn't have as many people driving around in cars, and not as many people using power (as in electricity). If there aren't as many people to supply with power we might just be able to survive on renewable energy (I may have used the wrong word, if so, solar power, wind and such), which would lower pollution A LOT.

Although I understand where your coming from I think its is unhealthy to not at least debate religion. I think people should stop being offended so easily by others saying your wrong. basically if your going to have an opinion you should be able to and ok with defending it.

An intelligent theological conversation is one thing, being told that: "a priest should rape you in the ass for being stupid enough to believe in God" is another. The only arguments I've ever heard for atheism have been no more than belittling name-calling.

I have two things to say about this comment:
1. That is true but thats just stupid people saying stupid things. If you get a comment on that don't be like most people and go OMG YOU OFFENDED MY RELIGION! Just ask him/her why he/she thinks that and respectfully disagree.
2. Just being nit picky now. Tom Milner did not say atheists he said theists which are religious people. Although many atheists do this to. :P

Oh, I know that kicking and screaming over how offended I am doesn't do anything. I once got into a Facebook argument with a metal band from Norway over their lyrics. Nobody was happy that day.

I know he was referring to theists (though I have to admit, I thought it was a typo at first), I just thought it was relevant. There's no doubt that both theists and atheist aren't always nice, but the whole "You're going to hell" thing isn't as, for lack of a better word, mean as "you only believe in God because you don't understand science."
(Another side-note here: science, by definition, has no claim over the metaphysical, because both atheism and theism cannot be proven or disproven scientifically. Better that physicists and biologists and whoever else use that wasted time and energy on something that will yield results.)

Nothing humanistic about that first paragraph, I'm sure you realize this, but you paraphrased Jesus like a boss. And for the record, (I should say assuming the existence of God and the divinity of Christ, so as to make this comment flame-retardant) God already kinda did save all humanity. Jesus' death meant everyone gets a 'get out of hell free' card. People just gotta pick it up.

I get so annoyed every time I hear the phrase "Vote with your wallet" implying that you can only vote one way. Typically we see it here on the forums going 'vote with your wallet, don't buy...'. Problem is that I can vote with my wallet by...buying the thing you told me not to. It is like the phrase "every child is special", which brings up the question of the adults. Are they special? if they are then we are all special and 'every child is special' loses all of its meaning and becomes irrelevant.

My unpopular opinion? More then liklely the first comment I ever got crap over on this site, that Suicide is the cowards way out.

Luca72:
I think medical marijuana is waste of time, and marijuana should be sold, taxed, and regulated like alcohol. That opinion seems to be accepted by about half the country.

But I also think all drugs should be legalized. Yep - morphine, amphetamines, you name it. Studies have shown that current policy doesn't reduce the tendency of people to get addicted to them, and that the major health problems people have as a result is because they're getting low-quality chemicals off the street.
If only cleanly made drugs were sold (and all these drugs have medical uses, so they ARE all produced cleanly by regulated companies as well) I think it would reduce fatalities and take a lot of money out of the black market. It's juvenile for politicians to think that restricting availability will stop people from using. There's really very little different between what we're doing now and what happened during Prohibition, whose only significant lasting effect was to strengthen the black market beyond belief.

I dont think this will work. Why pay full price for the legal stuff when you can get the illegal stuff for half price ? People are cheap.

Les Pauls are overrated...

Ron Paul would make a terrible president...

The American military is fucking bloated and eating all of our money...

Hip-hop is generally crap...

Party music shouldn't be considered music...

I don't see anything wrong with incest...

The constitution should be rewritten and updated every few years to keep up with the times...

I don't see a damn thing wrong with pedophiles... though I do have a problem with child molesters...

Free Speech means god damned free speech... doesn't matter if it's inflammatory, or hate speech, or stupid, or ignorant... it's free speech...<.<

Nirvana is far from overrated and is one of the greatest bands of the last 50 years at least...

Kid A was an amazing album and not pretentious at all...

Tortilla chips are the best chips...

most top down RPGS were crap...

The only good 3D Final Fantasy was FF12 and that was due to the lack of grinding, leveling system and combat...

Most acoustic guitars sound like ass...

Punk Rockers were the hipsters of yesteryear... though at least they had some balls...<.<

Humanity is done evolving to adapt to it's environment... we are simply left to dabble in our genepool at the top of the food chain...

Yeah, here my stuff.

I hate kids. I think dogs are smarter and cute.
Pele should have reproduction licenses so that I divots do not create even more idiots.
I think nuclear power is very useful,a nd it sucks to be radiated but that a risk worth taking.
I think christianity has done more harm than good.

Okay I'm Atheist and a democratic socialist. I think that third world countries need to regulate their birth rates. Violence can be justified when people aren't prepared to reason or debate. Soldiers are rarely at fault for their actions. I have no problem with pedophiles, note that pedophile =/= to child molester. Climate change needs to be dealt with regardless of the added cost.

These opinions are unpopular specifically in the escapist community, not society at large, but here goes:

I think Call of Duty (any one) is a great game. Along with Super Smash Bros, it is one of my favorite games to play with friends, and is also an easy way to blow off steam. More oddly, I also really enjoy the story modes in every single one.

I think bronies are basically just crying out for attention.

I love almost any apple product, especially their computers. The number one benefit of a mac is that it is simple and reliable. I NEVER experience errors, and getting software and hardware from the same place just makes everything that much simpler. Also, I actually find that not being able to play games is a benefit. As a student, If I could download any free-to-play app that caught my fancy, I would find it even harder to get work done than I already do.

I find am more annoyed by atheists than by religious people. I personally believe that God probably doesn't exist, but find it hard to absolutely rule out the possibility. However, I have never experienced an attack of "Militant Religion". None of the religious people that I know have ever tried to force their beliefs upon me, or even really bring their beliefs up. I do however, know militant atheists, who do use every opportunity to expound about how ignorant or biased regions people are. When religious debates come up on this forum or other places, I usually find myself "rooting" for the religious people.

I think that sometimes my reaction of "thats just icky" is reason enough. I believe there is a reason the majority of humanity has that reaction to incest and bestiality for a reason, and no matter how much logic anyone throws at me, I will never support either of those things.

*Sees your flame shield up, simply walks around it and faces you* Hey there.

OT: No worries, I am not going to judge you nor act negative toward you. I'm simply quoting you because I found your OP interesting. Some points stood out to me, while others I keep having to look over because I forget things from time to time.

What I wanted to reply with is that though it can be true for people wanting kids just to have a 'prized feeling' that it's their kids (their genes) that are being a success while other parents weren't ready for the full responsibility when the time came to raise kids. However, do note that misery and pain can help people mature. No, not despair or anything really bad.. those leave scars. I'm talking about life's morals and teachings through the tough times. I've been through a lot, and it helped me become a better person by choice.

Yeah sounds cheesy, I know, I know... but, really it left me appreciating what I can be instead of what I could of ended up like. I do have to say though, I admire your point about "your actions can impact people no matter how small you think they are." because it's actually true. I remember when I was having a crummy day, that a person saying hi and holding the door for me really made me feel better for the long run. Simple gestures, acts, and notice can make a difference (unless you're sidetracked, which tends to happen a lot with the majority of people.) Besides, I like helping people.. gives me a purpose in life while trying to become a better person myself.

If you ever need to talk, rant, or want advise in any way.. please do talk to me or PM me. I help with people all the time and listen to what they have to say. Also no catch, I just like helping people because though the world is cruel beyond imagination, it doesn't hurt to least make it 1% better by yourself.. because when you try, then others will try. Motivation is the key to a better society generally. Maybe never fully, but a much better side in things I ensure you.

Parents are responsible for raising their own kids. Not the government, not the school, not the neighbours. Parents are, and they should be punished in some way if they fail to raise their kids in a proper way.

Elaboration: I'm a teacher, and have had a lot of parents coming to me talking about their kids. So I would say that their kid isn't doing so well. Some parent genuinely believe that this is the fault of the school. But if asked about the way they raise their kids, it becomes clear that they want to be friends with their kids. These kids have the most recent iPhone, a computer and tv in their room and no control whatsoever. We've had students who where gaming until 4 am.

shintakie10:
I have quite a few really unpopular opinions. Note this is all from the perspective of someone in the US.

Incest should be totally legal between consentin partners.

The age of consent should not be considered as an absolute and instead should vary person to person.

Rape laws are disgustingly biased against males and need to be fixed.

Prostitution should be legal and regulated.

Just because someone is a pedophile doesn't mean they should be persecuted and treated like a monster. If they actually act on their impulses, yes throw the damn book at em, but until they actually do they are not to be touched (tryin to get them to counselin because people who are generally had horrible things happen to them in their childhood is acceptable, forcin them into it is not).

To add to the pedophile one, any form of pornography that doesn't involve actual people (such as animated stuff) should be completely legal to produce and consume. If no one is actually hurt in the makin of the product, no one should be punished for havin it.

What happens in someones bedroom (as long as no one is hurt without their consent) is their own business and anyone who thinks differently is scum.

I will agree to these above and add a few of my own!

-It should be a crime to come to another nation and expect that nation to use your language and cater to you, if you move somewhere, assimilate damnit!

-Life imprisonment is a waste of time, if they get life without parole they should just be shot within 24 hours of the sentence and save everyone time and money.

-People who think that just because you have an unpopular opinion you are trying to be edgy or dark needs to be smacked in the back of the head, perhaps with a 2x4.

-If a kid is being a little asshole it should be legal to give em a smack to the back of the head and teach em to not be idiots.

-There shouldn't be so much regulation and attempts to be politically correct.

-Getting to have children should be earned, not a right to everyone, and could be revoked.

-Fuck sending aid to 3rd world nations. They wont grow and prosper if they are being coddled by everyone else.

I like bullies and think they do an important service in most cases... seriously people in the 1st world countries who run this planet have become soft, self-entitled, petty little pricks who for the most part have lost all meaningful touch with reality... adversity is a good thing as it either makes someone stronger or breaks them... and if they break than they deserve what comes with that...

all this "everyone is equal and special" coddling bullshit is sickening

*PRE-EMPTIVE MASSIVE FLAME SHIELD*

I think that most people put rape on too large of a pedestal. Killing is commonly joked about, and is shown frequently on TV, movies and games. Torture is fairly commonplace in M-rated games, and 18+ movies. I don't think that rape (which I personally categorize as a sub-division of torture) should be so much more forbidden of a topic than those other two, just because it involves sex

see that's the problem... if someone suffers from say depression (the ACTUAL condition caused by brain chemical imbalance) then that is THEIR problem to deal with not anyone else's... hand holding and coddling them doesn't actually help them... it just lets them string along pathetically while suffering and lines them up for an even worse fall the second no one is around to do it and they are confronted with the rest of the real world...

better to weed out the weak when they are younger... better for society as a whole if the base is composed of strong people rather than pre-occupied with wasting time propping up the weak... some nice strong adversity can go a long way to prodding people into taking a stand and becoming self reliant and strong where as hand holding only lets them stay weak and hang on until they inevitably crash and burn

and the whole "weve all got somthing to contribute to society" is a bullshit line just as much nonsense as the "all people are equal" lines... some people either have nothing worthwhile to contribute or nothing at all... and some people are objectively worth more or better than others... please explain to me what Hitler had to contribute to society as a whole? or explain to me how Carrot Top's life is objectively worth the same as say Einstien's was?

life is cruel and unfair and it's much better if people learn and accept that as fast as they can... it will make it much easier on them and give them a much better chance to toughen up early and not be put through the ringer later
