I have a vagina and am very excited for Halo 4. Mostly because Master Chief can have access to my vagina. Remember, Chief, Cortana doesn't actually have one. And she's the brain-child-AI of your mother figure. I'm a much better option. (I swear I know he's not real.) I'm keeping myself in the dark about the game for the most part. I want the entire thing to be completely new to me when I play it. I will get Legendary Edition day one, of course, because I'm a nerd. I just hope the boxes don't get any bigger, though thank goodness Reach had a handle. Those things are the size of my torso. | |

Anyway, from Halo 3 onwards I've been unexcited about the Halo series and rather bored of it (apart from Halo ODST which I strangely enjoyed). However, I'm optimistic that 343 will put a new spin on the campaign that'll make it interesting for me again. I just hope that the campaign either captures the darkness and sense of danger that ODST had or the sense of isolation and wonder that came with the original Halo series. I just don't want another Halo 3. | |

Halo on the otherhand... downhill ride of my life, though I admit ODST was a bit of an uplift, it then sank deeper then ever before with thew next installment. I can't see how this series could possibly resurrect itself as something good now. | |

Well, for some stupid reason, I cant edit the op, or else i would change the title to be within the rules now that I've had my fun. Also, I noticed a few spelling errors.... On that first note, thank you to everyone who appreciated the joke and posted appropriately hilarious responses. This is officially one of my favorites of my own threads. By the way, if any of the people who voted "Well, yeah! I am a lesbian, after all" were actually lesbians, we love you. Thanks again to all those who made this thread fun to read through. Now that I have your attention, and you have wasted your time on the poll (hah, fooled you), on to the real question.
Is anyone looking forward to Halo 4 as much as I am, yet simultaneously as trepidatious about it as I am?
The way I see it, like any Halo game, and in fact, like any game of an established IP or made by an established developer, it has the potential to be truly great. The corollary, of course, is, that if it fails, the let down will be proportionally larger. Many, according to various articles, are concerned about the new developer, 343 Industries, but quite frankly, that's what I'm least concerned about. I do, of course, share many Halo or Bungie diehard fan's sense that in a way, it feels a bit off to abandon Bungie, when Halo is their baby.
No, what I'm most concerned about is two things: Time and change. I'm scared that the developers (and this would have gone for Bungie, too, if it was still their gig) may get a bit too ambitious and change too much. On the other hand, I'm also scared they might not change enough. For example, the weapons collection, in my opinion, needs a complete overhaul, not just to have a few guns added every game that are crap and pretty much the same as what was already there. Case in point, Reach took away the battle rifle (RIGHT AS I WAS FUCKIN GETTIN USED TO IT!!!) and added the.... whatever they called it. And all it was was a frikkin BR with ONLY ONE GOD DAMN SHOT and fired slow as Hell, and still didn't even damage as much as the pistol from Halo CE. They basically replaced a good gun with a gun that was pretty much the same, except that it was crap.
Anyhow, my ranting hatred of that one particular gun aside, my other concern is time, and I mean that two different ways. One, I just don't think it's been long enough since the most recent Halo game to even be considering another one, much less a direct chronological sequel. Don't get me wrong, it's one of my favorite games, and definitely my overall favorite franchise, but I think Microsoft milked the poor thing to hard and too much and too fast, turning into a joke of mediocre games and garbage merchandise cluttering the market. I am of the opinion they should have just completely forgotten about Chief for a while and let him get his much deserved rest.
Second time concern, I fear that Microsoft will sin against us Halo zealots yet again the same way they did with Three, which is to rush it out the door too fast. I will always be of the opinion that Halo 3 could have been the best game of all time, but ended up being not quite as good as mediocre because Microsoft threw a bitch fit at Bungie, whining "We're not satisfied with being a quadrillion dollar company, make us more money, waaahhhh!!!!!" Moral of the story, Microsoft Games, is SHUT UP, AND TRUST YOUR DEVELOPERS, AND LET THEM DO THEIR JOB! At least then if it ends up being crap, you know it's their fault and not yours.
Anyway, I'm sure many of you won't have bothered to actually READ this like your supposed to (oldest story in the whole forum) and this thread will probably be locked soon because of the title, so, enjoy the poll. Toodles!
