Your View: Amazing Spider-man Movie

Hi guys!

I just wanted to ask what everyone is thinking about the new movie, for those who've seen clips from and/or are interested in it. And if you're not ;p

With the initial preview and break-out of studio photos... plus that awful costume design, I was NOT feeling good about it at all.

But with the newer previews and clips online it's looking more promising in my eyes. I like how Garfield seems to create a nice contrast between being spidey with his lame-ass quips and Peter with his social awkwardness. I like the little amount of movement we've seen with him fighting those car thieves. He appears to move quickly and precisely which is exactly how Spidey should move.

At the moment I feel people are being a bit harsh... it seems to me that Andrew Garfield has a role with strict expectations after the last 3 movies. Kinda hoping people will look at him with a fresh view.

So what do you guys think?

From the trailers I've seen I have no reason not to like it.

Cool. You are the FIRST person I've come across to say so ;p

Ohh... you have to hit "quote". Fail me.

Now why are people saying it looks bad?

I think it looks okay, for the most part. I think the Lizard looks like ass from what I've seen though. And the "Untold Story" tagline is pretty dumb, but that's kind of petty.

A many various reasons. I've seen people suggesting Andrew Garfield appears dry in the roll, not up to his usual acting standards, which I don't agree with. And then of course there's the ever-hated re-hashing of the origin story once again.

I think the first preview caused a lot of the issues... You know the one with the 1st-person perspective swing through the city? It revealed nothing good.

I actually haven't seen images of the lizard, I'll try to find 'em. And yeah, agreed. "Untold", how about "told again for the billionth time"?

That does sound pretty pretentious and lame.

huh. My thoughts on that seem to be the complete opposite there.

I will hold my comments until I see it. I've learned to not judge a movie until I see it for myself. Sometimes it leaves a lot to be desired, sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised. I shall wait and see.

I really don't mind people remaking Spiderman after Spiderman 3 , and the more moves come out the higher the chance ill see something I like . so im not doing condemn it from ignorance just yet , but im also not going to the movie theater in my Spiderman costume .......................

Good idea. Sometimes we're thrown surprises. I feel really, really good about it now, as opposed to before, but I'm still prepared for it to be bad. In a tiny little part of my mind. There's a spot one reserve just in case.

Lol, aww why not? I bet it'll look better than the one in the movie. ;p

The latest footage I've seen atleast seems to put in some actual colour. The earliest trailers were a bit too grey and Christopher Nolan-ish for my taste.

The Spidey suit and the Lizard still look like shit though. And I'm not too enamored with Emma Stone's goofy lisp face either.

Well it's supposed to look like it was designed by a teenager. The new suit seems more realistically within a teenager's grasp to create than the previous latex thing that I honestly thought was CGI until I Googled it.

Haha, sad but true .
Now that I think bout it I may still have a Spiderman costume from when I was 10. But I think I won't fit me all that well ...... and I'd probably look like a sex offender.

The lizards face looks dumb.

I'm trying to learn as little about it as possible.

Honestly, I loved the Raimi Spider-Man trilogy. Even though 3 was lackluster and disappointed in several ways, it was definitely interesting and hardly predictable. I'm disappointed it's all being retconned, because I would have loved a New Avengers thing going on with Tobey's Spider-Man and Jackman's Wolverine.

I honestly don't even know - is this a new origin movie? The last one came out like ten years ago, if that. I don't want to spend half a movie relearning the same old story.

Haven't seen it... I'm scared to look for it now.

I like the first two for certain. And I really didn't mind Toby as Peter. But I minded him as Spider-man (Although I have a LOT of respect for the man for the work he put into building up his muscles). He was just too quiet and it was... unnerving. I'm a gigantic Spider-fan, it's true, but you can't make a movie about a guy known as the "wise-cracking wall-crawler" and not have him talk.

It will be an origin story from the sounds of things. But I'm hoping they ease into it... kind of like how they did it with the Spectacular Spidey cartoon. It was great, it started with him already as Spider-man and got into the origin afterward.

I really hope they keep Jackman as Wolverine. He plays the role really well and make Wolverine hot. Something I never thought possible ;p

Lol! Probably, with it all stretched and stuff with your midrift hanging out! XD

I guess that's one excuse for a bad design. As good as any, I guess. Lol, the suit is the only complaint I've had about this movie from the beginning.

Thank goodness it's NOT cgi, eh?

Yes, colour is good. Agreed. Lol, yes the suit... never stops with the suit.

Aww, I do love Emma Stone though. I'm actually really happy they picked her for Gwen.

The Lizard looks awful, Andrew Garfield looks too Edward Cullen (petty I know, but still), and I'm still not sure about the 1st person web-swinging stuff. I MIGHT see it, but I'm not holding out for a great reboot.

Hmmm... On the dark side, Spider-Man's origin story is supposedly being hailed as "the untold story", which is just false, stupid advertising (unless that's the Peter's parents being spies subplot that's referring to). And it's being made as a cash grab to keep Marvel away from making movies about a Marvel superhero.

On the bright side, Tobey Fucking Maguire is no longer playing Spider-Man.

Still not sure if I want to see this, but the bright side is more promising right now. :P
