I had a freaking 300 page Atlas that I used to pore over when I was a kid. It was awesome. I wouldn't call it a fetish, more of a fascination. I had more than a few globes too. My prized one was a pre-fall of communist Russia globe. I thought it was rather neat. Geography Fetish? Wouldn't that be Geographilia? | |
Like "Stick your peninsula in my fjord" type fetish? Or something that might match up with the term "scenery porn"? Personally, I like to see my geography up close and in person. I've got about 30 or so of the continental 48 done, and Hawai'i. | |

Occasionally I look out at a mountain or a river and I just feel such strong emotions. So beautiful, powerful, majestic. And then we fuck. I love the geography in my area if that counts. I like learning about all the mountains we have and what not, though I live in a pretty awesome area geographically. In every other way it isn't too great, but the geography is awesome. | |

It's Dartmoor, but they do look very similar. The only bad thing is that I'm quite near the area where the army practice shooting each other, which is problematic if you get lost. | |
Dense forest and snowy landscapes are my favorite although desert landscapes just bore the hell out of me. | |

As I geographer,I feel obligated to highlight that geography does not only involve maps and photographs (I haven't used a map in geography for at least a year)..it covers a huge range from rives to wars to policing. *mini rant over* but as a person, then yes I do enjoy maps and photographs. I actually love to look at modern vs vintage maps to see how places have changed! | |
As do I. Maps are just my favourite part of geography. I also like talking about landscape features. Crater lakes and river deltas, for instance. Or the topography of the deepest ocean trenches... | |

Yes sir I too, love to look over the maps of the world, learn their capital cities and other useless facts about their world, ah tis a good life. Also being Australian, it continually frustrates me that most of the maps I ever end up reading have greenland looking almost the same, if not larger than us. Western Australia on its own is larger than greenland you fools, get your facts right God Damnit, also Queensland is bigger than Alaska, just putting it out there. | |

I absolutely love looking at maps and photos of places. Every bit of them. Poring over the details, careful not to drool too much or else the maps will be ruined... thankfully, digital maps have solved that somewhat...
Now I'm addicted to Geograph UK. It has photos of virtually everywhere in Britain, and isn't confined to the streets. Lord help me, I can't stop...
