Are we going to see anything like the old Letters to the Editor segment? That involved a lot of just highlighting good forum posts, and could be an interesting thing to add to the community spotlight.

I third Mr Galactus and Revnak's nominations (post #10 & 11), I think that The_root_of_all_evil is a often forgotten about user who deserves more recognition in the community for his contribution to humour and wit on the Escapist and he would benefit more from the publicity of the spotlight than some of the more well known nominees that have been mentioned so far. No offence to anyone in particular but I don't think we should go for someone who's already got a forum following like Daystar Clarion or Caramel Frappe. | |
I vote to give some love to the User Review section and the different reviewers there - a bunch of regulars for all kinds of things, across multiple mediums. It's also a really under-celebrated forum, and the view-counts are therefore much lower than they ought to be. *Totally hasn't started a regular review series on there himself* | |

I vote PsychicTaco115, the shining beacon of hope for a glorious new age in Escapist history. Or me. I'm not famous, but i think i'm pretty cool. I agree, this should be more about the forum users that don't get mentioned in passing. Like me... Anywho! I'd like to nominate Lost In The Void, or alternatively, DeadpanLunatic. They both do good work in the User Reviews bit, which isn't frequented as much as the other forums. I think it deserves a little more attention. (I'd vote for Marter, but he's a Mod like me. I don't wanna seem like I'm favouring him. ;D ) | |

I think now more than ever we should throw our support behind Daystar Clarion. Not because he is The First Brovenger, but because he is our main source of fun and joviality on these forums. Our first, and last line of defense against the shrieking hordes of rage, hate, and adolescent nihilism that plague so much of the internet. Now is not the time to let the petty, vocal minority and their jealousy overshadow such a gift. I call on anyone who has ever seen that telltale white wolf run, and known that they were about to laugh, to do what they know is right and just. Vote for Daystar! The Escapist Community Spotlight
We are happy to announce the resurrection of the Community Spotlight, this time featuring your favorite people, reviews, threads and user groups.
Have you ever wondered why a particular user chose their name, such as Time Travelling Toaster or staika? Do you ever speculate about random groups, asking yourself "what do the Ponies really do, and why is friendship magic?" Do you get curious about whether you've missed out on a particularly funny or fun forum thread, or perhaps an uncommonly insightful user review? Is there someone or some part of The Escapist community that you think deserves more kudos and exaltation? If so, then you're in luck.
Not long ago, as many of you forum veterans likely recall, we ran a Community Member Spotlight. It looked something like this. You nominated them, then we interviewed them. It was a great way for individuals to be recognized by their peers and by the staff, and for all of us to get to generally know each other a little better. You guys seemed to really enjoy it, so we're bringing it back.
In addition to the classic spotlighted member interviews, this time around you can expect to see highlights and explorations of all your favorite aspects of the Escapist community, including thread topics, polls, user reviews, avatars, and groups. This is a chance for you guys to call out the general awesomeness of your peers, so don't be afraid to think outside the box.
TO NOMINATE: Users are invited to submit nominations both privately and publicly. If you would like your nomination to be public, feel free to post it in this thread. If you prefer to submit a nomination in private, please send a PM to me, Nasrin, or an email to community@themis-media.com.
