Gay marriage is awesome. Anyone who says consenting adults should not be allowed to love each other is contributing to the sum total of ignorance, evil, and misery in the world. It is as simple as that.
Here's one of mine: The entire concept of legalized marriage should not exist FOR ANYONE. The government shouldn't have any say in who can marry whom. Period. Gay, straight, monogamy, polygamy... anything. Government, stay out of it.
That sounds a bit misinformed. Government stay out of it? Well the government does stay out of the kind of marriage you're talking about, which is just a ceremony and saying you're married. The kind they deal in is the kind with benefits, which they necessarily are a part of.

I wouldn't call it misinformed - I'm opposed to the benefits for married couples too.

Well yes, but saying the government should stay out of it when it already is staying out of the kind you're talking about. They really aren't doing anything about it.
I don't know why you'd oppose all benefits anyway. What's wrong with being able to make decisions for your spouse if they're incapacitated or being able to visit them in the hospital?

Nothing's wrong with it - as long as the married group gets to choose it for themselves.
Johnny Impact: Capital punishment is a good thing. It sickens me to know that I pay for rapists and murderers to get 3 squares a day, shelter, cable TV, weight rooms, and so forth. Kill the bastards, and if you absolutely refuse to kill them, I've got four words: Let me do it.

The only gun control should be a firm hand. If guns are banned because they're "dangerous," then we have to ban blenders, scissors, lawnmowers, cars, power tools, unpowered tools, campfires, knives, electrical wires,...........
Traffic laws should be obeyed. That means by everyone, all the time, not when it's convenient, or when we're not in a hurry. When you make an illegal lane change in the middle of an intersection and attempt to cut me off, you are doing something unpredictable. Unpredictable means dangerous. Dangerous means you can only do it so many times before God calls your bluff. Not to mention the rudeness of it, which I might just decide to pay back on the spot. I've forced asshats to choose between slamming on their brakes or hitting parked cars when they've tried crap like that on me, not even kidding.
SO MUCH agreement with this^
Also, most things. At least, I have very little tolerance for differing opinions. I'm an opinionated dick, and if you have an opinion different than mine, you have about 30 seconds to at least show me you have an argument I consider valid. If you can't do that, I will believe you to be an idiot virtually no matter what you say. There are some rare exceptions, but not many.
As for truly 0 tolerance, the 4 this guy said, with about a triple on the gun control thing, and anyone who says that they don't like reading/anime/tv/insert medium here. Wrong, these mediums are merely the conduit for a story, you just haven't found a story that you like presented in that medium, there is a difference.
usmarine4160: I hate it when I see fat people using the scooters in a grocery store. Those are for actual disabled people! Not because your fat ass never walked a mile in your life!!!
I agree completely. I have an aunt who's put herself in the position of eating every 5 minutes and weighs upwards of 465 lbs. When she used to go to the store, she'd grab not only a disabled parking spot, but one of those scooters, and Gods help you if it died in the middle of shopping because then she'd demand to be pushed. Nowadays, she just sends her nurse/ personal lackey to shop for her.
If someone has some kind of medical condition that affects weight despite doing their best to take care of themselves, that's one thing. To just eat everything in sight and refuse to take care of one's self is another. She's the latter case. And it's completely unfair to people with real disabilities.
trty00: I think that, deep down, we all really want to get along. However, there are some things we just can't compromise on, and we won't budge on them. Are there any opinions you have that you won't compromise on? Do you have any stances where you won't entertain any opposing thoughts? For me, the big one is gay marriage. I think gay marriage should be allowed without question. And, if you disagree with me on that? Well, I think you're being dumb. But anyway, what about you?
I'm all for gay marriage, but your use of the phrase "without question" triggered my personal no compromise response: nothing is without question. My old roommate asked me if I hold anything sacred, and I said I didn't, that to hold something sacred is to put it beyond questioning. If you question something, you start to work at what the thing in question is, what it does, why it does it, and how it does it. You might find that whatever it is is perfectly functional, great as it is, and requires no change. You might also find that it needs a degree of adjustment, anywhere from a slight tweak to scrapping the idea and starting anew.
I wonder whether people are no-compromise on no-compromise? What do people think? Is sticking to your guns in everything a sign of strength-of-character or is it stubbornness? Is being flexible the same as being weak or are you being open-minded?
Personally I lean towards flexibility over stubbornness, if you can't alter your views when the facts change then you're just ignoring new information, but it's a case-by-base thing.
The only gun control should be a firm hand. If guns are banned because they're "dangerous," then we have to ban blenders, scissors, lawnmowers, cars, power tools, unpowered tools, campfires, knives, electrical wires,...........
That's just a fallacy. None of the above items are used for killing (unless you have a bowie knife or something) whilst the only use for a gun is killing, and to a lesser extent, target practice.
Take away the guns and you'll find many of those other items seeing increased use as weapons. You can't protect people from everything or do much about their determination to hurt others.

You forgot sporks, those things are freaking dangerous.
I forgot nothing, I merely abbreviated the list. The full list of objects one human can use to hurt themselves or someone else is so long I expect I'd discover a character limit for Escapist posts before finishing it. Our ingenuity really comes to the fore when we're considering how to rid ourselves of those pesky neighbors.
DisturbiaWolf13: What's the real question? The question everyone is answering: "Are there any things you are absolutely certain about?". The answer to this question is "Of course!", it can only be known if a person is open to a change of opinion when they refuse to consider evidence against their current one.
On the other hand, an admission to close-mindedness is always an admission of failure, and with that in mind I'll have to confess to commiting the sin of close-mindedness many times in my short life. I promise in front of the good people of this thread to try harder in the future.

Well then I'd kill you, you murderous bastard. Years later a beautiful day comes as the last human being kills itself, knowing that justice has been done.
Can't tell if your hyperbole is meant to oppose my opinion or not. Some say an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. I say an eye for an eye makes potential criminals think a little harder than they otherwise would before committing crimes, and gives us a handy way to remove those who intentionally become a negative force in society. My opinion is every bit as valid as yours, whatever it is.
EDIT: Converged hextuple post into one long entry. Didn't think of that while I was doing it, sorry.

It's a hell of a lot easier to outrun a knife than it is a bullet.
I won't compromise my beliefs for anything. If I believe something, I require evidence and a logical argument, to convince me otherwise. Oddly enough, most of these arguments are with myself, which I find dissapointing.
That said. I will compromise my actions and behaviour however. Everyone does this. In fact, to get by in society, you have to modulate your behaviour from acting on what you believe to acting on what is acceptable to society, and the law.
aba1: I guess I am a hypocrite because my only thing I won't compromise on is that nobody should have a no-compromise topic. I don't care if your opinion is awful and stupid and completely uninformed that is ok as long as you are willing to listen and consider all the possibilities and change your mind. If you ignore one side to any argument regardless of wither you are right or wrong you are just plain ignorant and even if you are wrong you won't learn from your mistakes cause you were to ignorant and stubborn to so much as consider something different. I mean it is fine if you disagree but you should still be willing to at least consider all views, doesn't mean you have to go with them but to consider will make you a better person.
I used to feel the same. But as they say: Be open minded, just not so much that your brains fall out. You aren't ignorant if you ignore alternate views, if your views are correct. Now, how to confirm whether your views are correct is debatable, but most people, and I'm certain, you, don't take every view into account. The point is, you should consider views based on reason and rationality, not just any views which are different to yours. There's no worth in delusional, magical, or nonsensical thinking.
I for one refuse to consider the case for neo-nazism, mass murder, science denial, or cruelty. I guess those are my no compromise positions. See, if we take every view we ever encounter into account, debate it, mix it with our own, refute it, correct it, and confirm it, we spend our entire time letting others attempt to correct what we know. Considering all views doesn't always make sense, and learning them rarely makes you a better person.

Me, in an ideal world, I agree with this. But every time they execute an innocent, and they do, then everyone is complicit in murder.
Capital punishment can only work if leveled against a 100% accurate justice system.
No justice system today is, and I don't think it's even possible.
I'd say being deprived of your freedom and packed into a facility full of people who'll brutalise and violate you for the rest of your natural life is a worse punishment than a painless death.
Death is a kindness, you weakling. Purgation, annihilation, damnation and destruction is their true and only reward...

Everything is just more food for the hive. More biomass for the fleets of the great devourer.
:D
Let the great devourer feed. Let life become concentrated into a single amorphous creature. Then let it be crushed by the cold logic of steel and electrons. Let the old night return and the stars burn cold. The universe shall fall silent.
OT:Basically if you cant be argued with youre a fanatic and your views are based on faith rather than on evidence. Its a scary thing to say and honestly makes you a more ignorant person because of it. There is no view i hold that cannot be swayed by evidence and logic. Anything else is an affront to logic pure and simple.
We'z got a brawl bruin ere'. Us ard' boyz jus luv a gud fight. Nd weel win too, cuz us Orkz NEVA Loze. WAAAAAGH! Now, Wers my squig oil?
OP: Like the guy I quoted said, if you shut out any alternative thought you are in a worse position to defend your own point of view.
Also, If you don't feel the need to defend your point of view against objectors, or your defense amounts to "cuz I said so", then we come down to the level playground debating. Your integrity is then lost in your willful ignorance.

Ex. (Modern) "Hey when is the next game?" "It's on April 16th". (Medieval) "What day is today?" " 'Tis the 14th of April milord".
Not sure where you're from but, in the UK most people would say, for example, 29th of March rather than March 29th. At least that's how most people I know say it.
If you're arguing with me and you use volume to make your point? Yeah fuck right off. Also, when people let their emotions get in the way and don't use logic. Yeah, you can just fuck right off too.

That's the expanded version of my statement.
I had a feeling that might've been what you were getting at.

It's a hell of a lot easier to outrun a knife than it is a bullet.
With a gun: If the shooter doesn't know how to use his weapon, he doesn't have a very good chance to hit a running target. If he does know what he's about, you really won't be dodging or outrunning the bullet, so just forget it.
With a knife: Exact same thing.
I've tried to dodge rubber knives thrown rather gently by my sensei. It is as hard as all fuck even when you know they're coming.
Trust me, there is absolutely no chance of outrunning a thrown knife.

Capital punishment can only work if leveled against a 100% accurate justice system.
No justice system today is, and I don't think it's even possible.
No matter how good your system is, there will be errors. The only way to avoid punishing innocents would be never to punish anyone for anything, ever. I think even the most soft-hearted person will admit that isn't going to work. You've simply got to have consequences.
So the question becomes, what is an acceptable margin of error?

Though, it's actually more expensive to the taxpayer to kill them than imprison them for life, thanks to the cost of the appeals system.
From a 2009 report: "In California, home to the nation's biggest death row population at 667, it costs an extra $90,000 per inmate to imprison someone sentenced to death - an additional expense that totals more than $63.3 million annually, according to a 2008 study by the state's Commission on the Fair Administration of Justice."

I know. I said nothing about the system we use being a good one. It isn't. The death penalty only means something if it leads to death, rather than decades of further imprisonment and appeals costing millions of taxpayer dollars. This is part of the problem.
How much time, money, and debate does it take to have a rabid dog put down? Not a lot. And that's for an animal, acting involuntarily, without conscience. So why does it require such a staggering expenditure to put down a human, who knowingly and willfully did the worst wrongs a person can do, a person who made a conscious choice to cast aside the most basic morality? That is so much worse.
What use can society possibly have for such a person? Why does anyone think there's even an issue to debate here? You get weeds in your garden, you don't agonize over their future, or ponder notions of justice, or worry about compassion for the weed. You pull the weed and toss it aside without question or hesitation.
Helmholtz Watson: Illiberal immigrants need to be deported. Seriously wtf, why is this even an issue? Its a crime and the people should be punished for it. Also, the border needs a better wall and more security.
Finally, Green energy needs to be further developed and adopted by the public. Kids should be encouraged to go into these types of fields that develop green energy, not trying to be actors and singers.
You mean Illegal right?

Do not expect preferential treatment or expect laws to be changed to suit you or your culture.Don't like it then fuck off somewhere else

Killing is bad. The only circumastance in which it is acceptable is to save a life or lives. If you smoke, I'm allowed to dislike you Especially if you light up indoors without even checking if I'm ok with that.
Nothing. Deciding on no compromise can often end with being willfully ignorant. I'm 22, my views have changed over the years and they could again. As soon as you decide you can't possibly be wrong about something you close yourself off from learning and growing. It's okay if your views don't change but deciding that they never will is pretty retarded.
YYYYYES! However, getting around the seeds is really annoying!
Well....I don't know, really. Maybe all the obvious things, but....I can shift on anything if the information or evidence availible brings it to order. But if it's a matter of opinion, and I'm dead set, hell no if my opinion has equal merit to the next best.

Heimir: Multiculturalism is cancer. One can share culture without forcing an invasion of foreign cultures into one place to dilute and destroy the native culture of said place. People speak about the strengths of diversity and still promote multiculturalism and globalism wich is retarded because both of those destroy diversity.
No muslims I am not a racist when I tell you that you're entire belief is dated, old and stupid. I might have overlooked your medieval superstitions if you weren't beating your wives, teaching kids to isolate themselves from the native population of the country who openly took you in to keep them from forming their own opinions and lives. And your anti-semitism, racism and homophobia isn't helping you better my opinion of you.
Anyone who doesn't see that these are common things in the vast majority of muslims is willfully ignorant.
These are two things I will never change my opinion of. Because the first will never change, the latter might change but not within our lifetime.
I would get on your case for applying this to only Islam when I can think of a few others who are guilty of this far more frequently (cough-Christianity-cough), but I guess the concept of "No Compromise" means it would be pointless...
That and you were banned, so I can't have an actual conversation with you about this.
OT: Considering the guy above me, this actually relates...
I have little to no tolerance for religious fervor. Your religion, no matter what it is, is something that applies to you and only you. The second you try to use your religion as an excuse for vile behavior like bullying gay kids, attacking people of other religions, or trying to force scripture based legislation, then your religion and Freedom of Religion are no longer in effect.
Now you're just a prick.
Also, I think there needs to be a serious curb of legal rights. There are many in the US Constitution that need to be revised or rewritten, and a few that need to be abolished entirely. There should also be a priority system for rights, so that if two rights conflict (Say, Free Speech and the Right to a Safe Learning Environment) then one wins and one loses without the need for a massive, year-long debate.
Also, I firmly think that Autocracy is the least volatile form of government.
That sounds a bit misinformed. Government stay out of it? Well the government does stay out of the kind of marriage you're talking about, which is just a ceremony and saying you're married. The kind they deal in is the kind with benefits, which they necessarily are a part of.
